  • Why does my dog keep pooping in the house?

I have two dogs--both mixed breeds and about the same size. Hobbs and Basil eat the same thing: Purina Pro Plan with chicken broth (and green beans in the morning). With Hobbs, no problem. Basil, though, has really exhibited some serious changes. We've had Basil for eight and half years, since he was twelve weeks old, and we house broke him in three days. He's so perfect and we could always brag about him and his intelligence. Three weeks ago, he got sick in the house when we hit record heat (111 degrees!). He went to our basement, which is where my brother and I live but we spend more time upstairs than down, and pooped twice and threw up. Thinking something was terribly wrong, we rushed Basil to the emergency vet. This vet is incredibly reliable, the only vet we would see besides our usual vet and he has cured our other dogs for years. But he told us that Basil probably had a slight virus and the heat was making it worse. Basil was fine the rest of the week. Then we found another present in the house, a poop in the dining room. We decided to switch both dogs to a mix of rice and dog food to see if it would help his stomach. He's been on this mix for a week and a half, but he just pooped in the house again. Basil has been house broken since he was a baby, so it's not poor training. Hobbs hasn't shown any behavioral or digestion changes either.

If anyone has any clue what is happening, I would really appreciate any direction here.

  • Question on external hard drives?

I want to get an external HD for my laptop for college, but I will need to disconnect it to go to class. Can you connect and disconnect the HD safely, as long as you only store music or movies on it?

  • What color would look best on my pony?

My pony is an appaloosa gelding... He's been called red roan, snow coat, and varnish. (I honestly have no idea what color he is.)

I want to make him some rhythm beads and an embroidered saddle pad. What colors would look best on him? Also, if anyone knows what color he is, I'd be very grateful.

  • Any ideas for a treat jar?

My pony and I are going to a natural horsemanship clinic but I need a treat jar that he can't get his nose into! He's a crafty bugger and just in case I'm not watching I don't want him gorging himself on noms. Any ideas would be great! I was thinking one of those treat pouches from PetsMart for dog training, but it's an all day clinic and I will have a LOT of treats (he is VERY food driven!).

  • Why is my mouse not working?

I have a 2007 MacBook and I completely forgot it was in my car while I went on vacation. Now it seems to be okay, other than the mouse. The mouse button seems to be stuck in the clicked position, and it makes it difficult to perform most tasks, especially because I can't rest my palms on the edge at all! If I do, my cursor jumps and clicks where I don't want it to! Any help or suggestions at all are GREATLY appreciated! THANKS!

Yes. I know I am a horrible laptop owner for forgetting it in the car. Let's not have a million comments saying what an idiot I am. Trust me, I know.

  • Can a painted turtle and a red eared slider live together?

I have a red eared slider turtle named Leo and I want to get a painted turtle. Just curious if I can house them in the same tank.

  • Can sleeping on a couch cause back pain?

My basement, where my bedroom is, is being remodeled. I've only been home a few days this summer and am about to leave again, so I didn't think it would be a big deal. But now my back hurts to the point where I can hardly move! This is a relatively new and incredibly comfortable couch, my pillow is flat on the surface, and I'm not sleeping in an abnormal position. Believe me, if we had the space, I would drag my mattress somewhere and sleep on it to avoid this pain!

  • Having problems with Ebay transaction?

I just sold an item on Ebay, and the buyer says she sent the payment today, but my PayPal doesn't show anything. I've tried the 'view transaction' link on my selling page, but it always comes to the login page for PayPal and redirects me to my overview. I've looked and looked but I can't find anything that says my money is anywhere! Please help!

  • What does it mean if I get ankle pain randomly when I ride my horse?

I ride equitation and hunt seat and have been for several years now.

It is the strangest thing. Whenever I track right (with the horse's left shoulder going along the outside of the arena/ring), my left ankle shoots pain like nobody's business and I have to bite my lips to keep from crying, but when I track left (the horse's right shoulder going along the arena), I'm fine. It's mostly in the canter (a gait that looks like a gallop) but in the trot I can still feel it (the fancy gait when people look like they are standing up and sitting down). Has anyone else ever felt this or had a similar problem? Even if you don't know what the problem is, can you recommend some sort of suggestion to get rid of the pain? I already take three advil before I ride and give it ample time to kick in.

  • What external hard drive do you recommend?

I need more memory for my MacBook. I've been looking at the Time Capsule, but it's very expensive and does not have as good a customer rating as something of its price should! I need something that can hold all my music and movies. Please share your recommendations and prices! Thanks!

  • Why does my startup disk fill so quickly?

I have a Macbook 2007 and for the past few days, I have been getting notices while running Photoshop Elements 8 and iTunes that my startup disk is almost full. A friend recommended restarting, which I did. I would start with 200MB-600MB left of memory but within a few hours, the notices would pop up and my memory would be Zero KB available all over again. Has anyone else run into this problem? It's so frustrating. I know it's time to upgrade computers, but I don't want to make my parents pay for one for next year and then one for college the year after, so I am hoping to make it last one more year!

  • How much would it cost to remove a tennis court?

I have acreage in Dunwoody, GA, and I have a tennis court on my property. I would love to remove the court, as I don't play the game and have no reason to keep it or maintain it. I figure a bull dozer ought to to remove it pretty easily. How expensive would it be to remove it?

  • Are three-horse slant load trailers safe?

I have been looking for a used or inexpensive trailer so I can save some money by shipping myself (I have a truck, so that's no problem) and even bring in some extra cash by shipping friends' horses when necessary. I have been looking online and have seen lots of three-horse slant load bumper pull trailers. Are those safe at all? Clearly they must be, or companies wouldn't make them, but how safe and reliable are these trailers?

  • Am I capable of taking care of children?

I have a lot of anxiety issues. And I can barely take care of my dog. She's fourteen years old now (old for her breed) and is incredibly neurotic and has mental and LOADS of health issues. I know that I still have time to worry about children (I'm only 17 and just broke up with my boyfriend) but I have always worried about this. I get freaked out when babies cry because I don't know what to do with them! I like older children that can tell me what's wrong, but they stress me out because they never stop talking!

Am I just a weird person? Or am I just not cut out for motherhood?

  • Need some info on psychiatrists?

So I am in a creative writing class and I am writing a story about someone who sees a psychiatrist. I have googled but am unable to find much information... Maybe I am not using right search terms? Hm...

What am I wondering? Well, my questions are these:

    1. Do psychiatrists see patients in their home/in a home office type setup? That's the home of the psychiatrist, not the patient.

    2. Is it appropriate for a psychiatrist to hold a patient's hand out of friendship or support?

    3. Do psychiatrists ever take their patients out of the office to confront fears or bad memories if they feel the patient is ready?

Any help at all is appreciated! Thanks so much!

  • What should I get? (20 Characters)?

When I start at college, I would like to have a small pet. I used to have hamsters when I was a kid and I loved all three of them! What I would like to get is hamster(s), guinea pig(s), or rabbit(s), but I am not sure what to get!

I love animals, I am incredibly responsible, my parents are willing to help me pay for my pet so long as pet only lives at home when I am on break from school and I keep pet away from my dogs (which would be in my bedroom, where they are not allowed anyway), and I have wanted another pet for so long. I had three Syrian hamsters when I was a kid, so I have some rodent experience, along with three fish, three dogs, and three horses. I am very aware of costs.

Any advice/tips on picking a pet would be awesome! Thanks!

  • I'm having some sleeping issues?

I'm just shy of eighteen years old and attend a prep school. I get about seven and a half hours of sleep a night, which I know is not enough, but it keeps me going, and it's a lot more than most of my school mates.

Recently, I have had trouble falling and staying asleep. It's been going on for about a week now. I have not made any huge diet changes in the last week, nor have I experienced any traumatic events. I'm not terribly stressed--no more than usual--at the moment, and I just had a clean bill of health at a physical. I'm pretty sure it's nothing physical or emotional.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I'd be incredibly grateful!

  • What kind do you show in? Opinion/poll?

So I have heard MANY different takes on this, and I am curious to see what people show in and if they *have reasoning behind it.*

Are you the type of rider that shows in a thong under her breeches?

(Personally, I ride in smooth, clean bikini cut briefs from Victoria's Secret that are barely noticeable through my breeches! Comfortable and functional.)

  • What is the best truck to haul this trailer?

Our barn just came into, luckily, a Sundowner trailer that is 29 feet long and 8 feet wide. It's a six-horse trailer. (One of our boarders is moving to New Zealand. She donated the trailer from her farm in like the middle of nowhere.) I just wanted to know what kind of truck would be best to haul it. We have mostly TBs and QHs at our farm.

    Thanks!
