15-year-old female. I love to be helpful, and I ask questions when I'm too lazy or stupid to research them myself. I type well. So should you. (You can leave the Us out, though.) Pure genius: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=27093677&blogID=454810137

  • What does a sushi master say to you when you enter a sushi bar?

My mom is wondering, and I can't find anything from searching Google and Wikipedia.

To me, it sounds like "HO-SHEH!" (although I don't frequent Japanese restaurants, my parents do, and my dad is crazy and likes to say it).

  • Do you think it's unfair that my parents are forbidding me from buying a laptop for myself?

After hearing their reasoning, not nearly as much. Still kinda pissed, though... -drools over MacBook Pro-

  • Survey: What are your criteria for a boy/girlfriend?

I'm wondering what people find average/acceptable. I've a huge self-image problem (screw you, women's magazines...), and I think it would be interesting to see whether people actually care about an extra ten pounds, frizzy hair, acne, et cetera.....

If you'd like, you can separate physical and mental attributes. Rank in order of importance [decreasing--i.e., the most important at the top and the least at the bottom], pweez. Include explanations, if you so wish.

    (You can stop reading here...)

[Loosely in order of importance] is my own checklist:

    Mental:

At least slightly above intelligence (I just find people who aren't smart to be terribly uninteresting)

Writes/types/speaks reasonably well/at least spells correctly [in English] (if I have to make a concerted effort to understand someone...I'd rather not)

Isn't terribly immature or too stereotypically "macho." (Yeah, I get it. Metal is awesome, blowing up things and virtual people is rad, cars go vroom, chicks have ****.

Diverse sense of humor (as my own is quite eccentric, and is practically omnipresent)

    Doesn't have a big ego/isn't pompous and self-obsessed (I'm all for self-lauding--and self-deprecation--to make a joke, but in seriousness, it's just silly!)

Isn't bigoted--pro-"alternative" sexuality, pro-diversity, pro-feminism [which is defined as males and females essentially being treated the same, as in not either being "better" than the other], pro-animal rights ["speciesism" isn't really my thing], etc. (I suppose that I'm pro-equality, myself? Ha ha)

Doesn't mind heavy profanity too much.

    Physical:

Basic hygiene (don't do nasty stuff in front of me, and if you do do something icky, don't tell me about it, and sanitize/wash your hands with hand sanitizer/warm water and antibacterial soap. Yes, I'm freaking OCD)

Doesn't push...ahem...physical intimacy on me, and doesn't talk about sex and all that CONSTANTLY (I'm horny as hell, too--probably more so than you xD--but, once again, I'm insecure about my own body, and, well, most other things, so...yeah). [If the situation were reversed, I'd just masturbate. seriously.] I file this under physical because people don't have sex with their brains.

Taller than myself. (I don't wear heels, by the way. Just ballet flats and Converse, really.)

    I don't like curly hair. Not a deal-breaker, but...eh. (Dunno why.)

That's about all I can think of atm.

  • What's the full name of this guy who was on TV?

Kevin, the 21-year-old magician, who was on MTV's "Room Raiders 2.0" [I'm watching it right now, ha ha]?

I officially love cable television. More hot dudes. xD

  • My laptop overheats in a matter of minutes. Any ideas as to why?

No matter how many processes I terminate--or ice cubes I stick under the thing--it runs slowly (as in programs becoming unresponsive if I try to load up a webpage that has any more than fifteen lines of coding [exaggeration]), and it gets scalding hot--and shuts off.

HP 530 with Windows XP received in October '08.

I'm gonna try to reimage it, but I forgot how xD I have all my files on a hard drive, so back-up ain't a worry right now.

  • What is the proper name of the phenomenon in which...?

You notice something after it's pointed out to you?

I experience this a lot; a basic example of it is, if one doesn't pay attention to pop culture much, but s/he'll tune in once, and s/he particularly notices a pop band, and from then on, s/he will notice them whenever they happen to pop up on his/her radar again.

    ...know what I mean?

    >_< argh.

  • Should I write about fictional characters in past or present tense?

I am not writing a story; I am contributing to Wikipedia. I cannot properly recall which tense is appropriate for referring to fantasy universes. I'm leaning toward what I think I remember from elementary school [past], but Wikipedia seems to prefer in-universe perspective.

    Thanks in advance ^_^

  • Major bugging on my computer; can you help?

It's as if I have ctrl held down all the time [which I don't o_O], or something. I can't type, Firefox is using the scrollbar as history navigation, trying to click on anything will select it, opening a bookmark folder in FF will open all the bookmarks within the folder as new tabs, links open in new FF windows, et cetera [it's obvious that I don't use computers for much besides accessing the Internet, isn't it??]. I found that HotKeys was enabled, so I disabled it. No luck. Also, I've restarted my laptop perhaps six times since last night, with the malfunction returning in an hour or two. I just installed the latest FF 3 update, and always have it in fullscreen; perhaps that's the issue? But it's not just in FF...grr. The problems seem to start when I type something [or, well, attempt to].

Anybody know anything I can try? :/

I have Windows XP on an HP laptop, by the way.

  • How does one go about professional [underage] modeling?

So, yeah. I'm a teenager, but I'm dead serious about becoming a fashion model.

I'm looking into ModelMayhem.com, but they seem kinda biased toward models who are already working (not aspiring) and nude photographers (let's just say that I'm not friggin' Karlie Kloss). :/

    Etiquette lesson plz??

  • Is "agiven" a valid word?

Firefox's dictionary says it isn't, Google says it isn't, dictionary.reference.com is currently messed-up...but I've used this term for years!

In my usage, it's used to describe something that's obvious or natural characteristic of a thing, as in, "Dark chocolate's agiven bitterness doesn't please my taste buds."

Has the author that I originally picked this up from mislead me?!

By the way...I have no idea what category this should be in!!

  • Um, whose cover of "Ring of Fire" did Adam Lambert...cover?

You know, by Johnny Cash, but by someone else...

I say it was the older chick (that lost to the oompa-loompa midget Candian dude)'s cover from "Rockstar: INXS".

Poll: Would you rape Adam Lambert?

    Yes. Yes, I would.
