What can I do to properly fix a broken plastic headlight mount?
I hit a deer with my car the other day and broke one of the plastic mounting tabs. The headlight assembly isn't that old and I really don't want to spend lots for the whole new assembly. All my lights work, it's just the mount is broke and the whole assembly wiggles around now. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks
8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs5 days agoCan i use a catalyzed fiberglass resin over a painted surface?
The rear wheel well lips on my truck get beat up pretty good from gravel and such. My question is: can i use some fiberglass catalyzed resin over the paint on the lips of my wheel wells just to make them more durable? Thanks
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs5 months agoWhat or how do I operate a circular saw by myself?
What does one use to hold material when using a circular saw by ones self? I may be cutting some paneling and was curious if it is possible to do without a helper? As you can tell I'm no carpenter by any means! Thanks!
10 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)9 months agoShed wiring question?
I recently bought a big shed that I want to wire for electricity. I really don't know much about wiring, but was considering doing it all myself, then have an electrician from work check it all over before I complete it. It will just be 110. Should I use 14 gauge wire? A 60 amp panel box? 15 amp breakers? Thanks!
6 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)9 months agoWhat's a rough estimate to wire a 12x24 shed?
I'm considering buying a 12x24 shed and was wondering what a rough estimate would be to wire it, which would include the breaker box, breaker (s), 2 light switches, 4 lights, and 6 outlets. I have heard about $1,200. What do you think? Thanks!
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 year agoI want to put an offer in on a small unfinished cabin. How much should I offer them?
It is a small log cabin. It's new but it needs the stain touched up in quite a few places. It also needs a door painted. It also needs a door fitted better as it doesn't shut all the way. They want $9,000 for it. I am ready to offer them cash. How much should I offer them without insulting them? I was thinking $8,500 possibly. Or should I go for $8,000?
5 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 year agoI recently bought some land and am considering buying a 12x30 shed that resembles a cabin and renting it. Can I write it off on my taxes?
I was wondering if I can write off the cost of the cabin if I rent it out throughout the summer off and on. I already have a house I own that I rent.. Thanks!
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate2 years ago23 and me dna results?
I think I know the answer already, but here goes. My ex sister in law was known to "get around" even when she was married to my brother. My nephew and niece bought me one of these dna kits for Christmas. My nephew sent his in first and got his results. I just got my results and he wasn't even listed as a relative at all! I'm guessing my brother may not be his biological dad? My nephew is now 25 and I really don't want to tell anyone! Thanks!
6 AnswersFamily2 years agoHow hard is it to re-blue a gun barrel?
I have a 70 year old 30/30 Savage I have hunted with since I was old enough to hunt. The bluing is getting wore off in a few spots with a few light rust spots. I want to get one of those kits to re-blue the barrel. Are these kits hard to use and how hard is it? Thanks!
8 AnswersHunting2 years agoHow do I know if I have a sand mound septic system?
I don t know anything about septic systems. I have a mound that possibly could be a sand mound down in my woods, about 100 yards from my house. Not far in front of this area is a concrete lid with a handle. I lifted it and it looked like it was almost full. Looked like water and it didn t smell. Any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs3 years agoI have an antique 1920s (?) Elgin bicycle. Where would I get the head bearings?
I lifted up the handlebars and the whole bearing assembly fell apart. Neck bearings are shot as they fell out. Where would I get such bearings and whatever else in there? Are most all adult bicycle head bearing assemblies the same? Thanks!
2 AnswersCycling3 years agoHow well do my tax records have to be?
I'm honest as can be as far as doing my taxes. I really don't keep good records. I have one rental and being that she had written me a few bad checks last year, I have her pay me cash. And yes I do claim all of that income, even though it is cash. She has never asked and I have never given her a receipt. We both know each other pretty well and trust each other. If I were to get audited would me not having any receipt stubs or proof of how much she paid me be a problem. What I charge her for rent is the going rate around here.
6 AnswersUnited States3 years ago02 Dodge Dakota rusted cab corner brace. Is the truck safe? .?
I was recently under my truck and noticed the cab corner brace (?) is rusted out pretty bad. It's the brace that is right by the cab mount and goes to the frame. I believe this brace is like part of the frame. It seems to branch off of the frame. I was just wondering if this would pass a safety inspection and if this would be considered unsafe? Thanks in advance! Jack

5 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs4 years agoHow do I get a stuck wheel off my car?
I have a 2010 Suzuki SX 4. Apparently the rotors are rusted to the wheel. Or it is rusted around the hub, or both! Any tricks to get these off? I beat on the rim with a piece of 2x4 and a big hammer. I also put a lot of PB Blaster around the hub and on the as much as the rotor as I could. I let the jack down a couple times to try to free up the wheel to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks!
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs4 years agoTenant replaced floor without permission.?
My tenant had one of her "contractor" friends replace one of the floors in my house without so much as mentioning it to me! My tenant isn't the brightest to be honest. We had a lease, but it ran out like 2 years ago and I never had her renew it. My thinking was it would be easier to get rid of her if need be. She has been a pain since day 1. Always pays me, but never on time and always has the dumbest excuses you could imagine. The floor may not have even needed replaced. Strange thing is she has not even mentioned the floor to me yet. I heard from the neighbors and saw the plywood in the yard. How should I handle this? The guy who did it is a fairly good handyman I've heard.
