Has anyone noticed a pattern between Obama and those placed in offices?
Eric Holder has been sworn in as attorney general.
Holder was also involved in Clinton's decision to reduce the sentences of 16 members of the Boricua Popular Army, an organization that has been categorized by the FBI as a terrorist organization. The clemency request was initially opposed in 1996 by U.S. Pardons Attorney Margaret Love. When Holder was elevated to Deputy Attorney General in 1997, he was asked to reexamine the issue by three members of Congress. In July 1999, Holder recommended clemency to President Clinton with a report from then U.S. Pardons Attorney Roger Adams that neither supported nor opposed clemency. A month later, the clemency was granted by Clinton. According to The Hartford Courant, the clemency was unusual because it was opposed by the FBI, the federal prosecutor and the victims. According to the newspaper, it was also unusual because, before the commutations, the Boricua Popular Army members were not required to repudiate their actions, and they were not asked to provide any information concerning the whereabouts of Victor Manuel Gerena, a co-conspirator and one of the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, or the millions of dollars stolen by the group in a 1983 robbery of Wells Fargo in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Am I the only one that sees what's going on in our nation?
4 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhat is your opinion on paying real estate tax after the home is paid in full?
Should those that have worked hard all their lives in buying a home and are now unable to work due to disabilities related to age, etc., whom have their home paid for, be made to continue paying taxes on their home? What if they are barely getting by on just enough food to stay alive and not receiving government assistance? Would it be right for the government to take their home and force them out on the street?

6 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoYour opinion of those making over $250,000 paying more on Social Security?
Obama does not support uncapping the full payroll tax 12.4 percent rate. Instead, he and Joe Biden are considering plans that will ask those making over $250,000 to pay in the range of 2 to 4 percent more in total (combined employer and employee).

2 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoDo you want terrorist suspects as neighbors?
Isn't this just peachy?
A judge granted Obama's request to suspend the war crimes trial of a young Canadian. The judge issued a one-sentence order for the 120-day continuance without so much as a hearing, possibly the beginning of the end for the former administration's system of trials for alleged terrorists.
A draft executive order made clear the new president intends to go further. It called for closing the facility within a year, releasing some of the 245 detainees still there and transferring others to different sites for trial.
Pushing back pre-emptively, House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio said the draft order raises difficult questions.
"The key question is where do you put these terrorists?" he said. "Do you bring them inside our borders? Do you release them back into the battlefield? ... Most local communities around America don't want dangerous terrorists imported into their neighborhoods, and I can't blame them."
7 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoHas anyone heard why Sen. Byrd was taken from the post-inauguration luncheon for Obama? ?
Sen. Robert C. Byrd, 91, was taken from the luncheon but it was not clear whether his departure was prompted by his health.
3 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoDid LBJ actually do this?
One of the news commentators covering the inaugural ceremonies, made this comment, "Our Presidents are not allowed to drive a vehicle while they're in office." He then went on to say, "LBJ missed driving so much that when he went home to his ranch in Texas, he would get in his vehicle with terrified friends, cover the speedometer, then take off and they "literally" were terrified." LOL I'm sure it's true, but wonder if anyone remembers anything on it when he was President? I don't remember any mention of it, but have to admit, it's hilarious.

14 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhy should gays have a say in the President's choice?
President-elect Barack Obama has selected the Rev. Sharon E. Watkins to deliver the sermon at the national prayer service that is held the day after the inauguration.
The choice of Ms. Watkins was not an attempt to mollify critics of Mr. Obama’s decision to have the Rev. Rick Warren give the invocation at the inauguration. The choice of Mr. Warren, a prominent evangelical pastor from California who opposes same-sex marriage, caused an uproar among some of Mr. Obama’s supporters.
Obama is already making changes, I see.
How can anyone that has sexual preferences change a President's choice of whom he wants to give the national prayer?
I think I'll round up thousands that enjoy bj's, sex with animals, etc. and demand he put Rev. Warren back in just for the heck of it and see what the outcome would be. This is most ludicrous & sickening thing I have ever seen. Why should anyone with sexual preferences have any say in anything?
