Did LBJ actually do this?

One of the news commentators covering the inaugural ceremonies, made this comment, "Our Presidents are not allowed to drive a vehicle while they're in office." He then went on to say, "LBJ missed driving so much that when he went home to his ranch in Texas, he would get in his vehicle with terrified friends, cover the speedometer, then take off and they "literally" were terrified." LOL I'm sure it's true, but wonder if anyone remembers anything on it when he was President? I don't remember any mention of it, but have to admit, it's hilarious.

Maybe not on the streets, but I remember President W. Bush driving his truck on his ranch. He stopped to talk to some reporters while being in the drivers seat.....
