  • Drive Letter Assignment necessary for Flash Drives?

Every time I plug a flash drive into my WORK laptop, I need to assign it a drive letter through the Disk Administrator. It doesn't require this with USB hard drives, and the same flash drives work fine on my home PCs. Any ideas?

  • Why they heck would they want my wife on a jury?

She's a psychologist. She believes and has stated that sex offenders are unredeemable ... that they will repeat the crime. The person they are trying to prosecute is a repeat offender, and that's already been revealed to potential jurors.

The judge has stated he will even work around her schedule to have her on the jury.

She's not making anything up to get out of it, but it's amazing they would want her. I'm confused. Based on what I would think this makes no sense.

  • Adding another circuit breaker and moving a room off the old breaker ... approx price?

Right now my house is wired so that the living room and 2 small bedrooms are wired into one circuit breaker. All I want is to pull one bedroom off the breaker and onto its own. Reason: that room is my office and there are 3 PCs in there. With all that draw on one breaker, if I try to run AC in that room it triggers the breaker. That also means no AC in the living room (I'd rather not go with central air if possible). When I moved into the house the electrician I had come in to fix a few things said there was plenty of room to add additional breakers.

What I'd like to know is the approx. cost of something like this. Note, I'm not expecting real accuracy, but are we talking a few hundred? A few thousand? Would it be cheaper to put in Central Air? Or what?

  • Totally Altruistic Good Deed FOR THE WORLD Done by Mankind?

Here's the problem ... I want it to be something humankind has done for the world that has been for the good of the WORLD. Not for one person or thing. And it has to be altruistic and NOT a result of a goof-up mankind did.

    Examples:

Cleaning up an oil spill ... nope, cuz it was our fault in the first place.

Herding whales off a beach after they had stranded themselves? Nope, because it's been posited that sonar causes them to become disoriented.

Helping a dog by running into the middle of a street? Nope, cuz I said for the WORLD. I want something big, not singular. Something that proves we can do something good for the world without it being a clean-up of our own mess.
