Do I need to waterproof the entire height of my basement walls?
I'm in the beginning stage of finishing my basement. I'm using Drylok to waterproof the inside of the perimeter walls. Since only half or less of the walls are actually below ground level, is it even necessary to apply the Drylok on the top portion of the walls? I'd just like to save any money where possible, but I don't want to skim on anything necessary.
Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoIs a stock AM2 Heatsink compatible with 754 mobos?
Well, I feel like I should know this...but anyway.
I have my old headsink that came with the retail version of the Athlon X2 (AM2). I'm thinking of trading a guy for an older 754 board (wanting to build a small system for my young daughter)...but yeah, I'm clueless here. An answer would be appreciated. tia.
Also, since I'm here. Does anyone know if the old 754 Turion 64s can be placed in ANY 754 mobo? Wanting to pick up a cheap cpu if I do get the motherboard. I've read around on the net, and while it seems like people have used Turions in desktop mobos, curious if there are exceptions.
Again, thanks.
1 AnswerAdd-ons1 decade agoWaterproofing/Sealing my Basement Walls.?
In the planning stage of finishing my basement. Right now, planning and laying out water/moisture preventive measures.
My house was built in 1994. I live in Tennessee. I'm not sure of my state and local codes, but would it stand to reason that more than likely the outside of my basement has been sealed with a membrane of some sort? I've noticed on new houses being constructed, any walls that will be beneath ground has some blue coating on it. My house was built 16 years ago, but I'd imagine in 94, surely such codes existed and were followed. Should I check for myself?
Also, any tips or advice that usually goes unseen when it comes to basements? I'd greatly appreciate it. TIA.

4 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoShould I use Cat5 or Cat6 Cable?
I'm working on my new house and have decided to go with a wired network over a wireless one. I'm looking for network cable, but not sure. Should I go ahead and pay a little extra for Cat6 cable? Would future apps and hardware take better advantage of this cable? Or is Cat5 sufficient?
Thanks in advance.
