PowerPoint Editing?
I have created a PowerPoint presentation in version 12.0 2008 for Macintosh. I used one of the pre-loaded themes. Is it possible to edit some of the graphics? There's a solid box that I'd like to enlarge - not a text box, but just a box that's used as a graphic.
Thanks in advance for any help!
1 AnswerSoftware7 years agoProblem with landlord?
I know the legal answer to this question - I need suggestions of how to handle this problem in a friendly way without having to resort to the siting law.
My family and I moved into a rental home in July. Yesterday, I answered the door to a stranger who introduced himself as the owner of the home (it's managed by a property management company). He was very friendly and said that he and his wife were in town staying with their best friends (who turn out to be our next door neighbors) for a few days. He claims he just wanted to introduce himself, and he chatted with me for about 10 mn. about nothing in particular.
Today, he came to our door again with a gift of fruit from our neighbor's tree. He said that while picking the fruit, he looked over the fence and noticed that we still broken down boxes leaning against the air conditioner unit and offered to move them for us. I explained that we're recycling as many as we can each week, and that I'd just move them for now. He then said that he needed to take a look at a tree in the back yard, and he'd be in and out in just a minute. He headed into the yard without even asking. I've since learned that the owners stay next door to us for several weeks a year.
Legally, I know that the owner or management has to give us 24 hours notice before entering the property. I also know that telling the owner that will seem like we're trying to hide something, and will be taken as rude and unneighborly. Can anyone come up with a way to tell this guy that we value our privacy and would appreciate not being spied on?
Please, constructive answers only.

2 AnswersLos Angeles8 years agoQuestion about California Landlord tenant law?
We have lived in a rental home for over 3.5 years. When we moved in, I filled in the application. The homeowner has just realized that my husband did not also complete an application (this was not an intentional omission on our part - the property manager never asked for him to complete one. He did sign the lease along with me.). We are now on month-to-month, and have always paid our rent on time.
Please, only answer if you have knowledge of California landlord tenant law.
The owner is now asking for my husband's application. I am not willing to complete one with a current date, as it implies that his application might be rejected. I'm happy to provide all his information that would be included on an app. If he was to complete the application as the owner is requesting, can she now reject his application? Would she then be able to serve us with a three day notice?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate9 years agoRegarding property managers vs. property owners?
Is a rental property owner legally obligated to abide by an agreement signed by a property manager he/she hired to manage the property?
The story: My family moved in to a rental home three years ago. At the time, we were told by the manager that no pets were allowed, but that the owner had agreed to consider a pet after we had established ourselves as reliable renters. After three years of paying rent on time, I approached the property manager about the possibility of having a small bird (e.g. a cockatiel). We were told that we could not have a bird, but that we could have a small dog. We began looking for a dog and found one six months later. I introduced the dog to the property manager, signed a pet agreement and paid a pet deposit.
The owner is now claiming that she never okayed a dog. She's waivering back and forth about the dog, and accusing us (not the property manager) of trying to take advantage of her. My question is: isn't the already-signed pet agreement legally binding? The owner does have a signed agreement with the property manager giving her the legal right to sign leases, etc. in lieu of her. We have never violated any terms of our lease, and would never have adopted a pet had we not had advance permission.

How do you "like" a link and have it show up on a Facebook Page rather than a personal timeline when the two are linked? The links keep popping up my my personal timeline!
1 AnswerFacebook9 years agoLawyers in CA, please answer?
My family had a former babysitter living with us for two years. Prior to living with us, she moved to a different part of the country, and we allowed her to leave about 10 large boxes in a storage unit we were renting. She paid no rent or expenses either for living with us or for the storage. When she returned to California to live with us, I took her to the storage facility and we removed her boxes.
She recently left us - literally snuck her belongings and herself out when we were out of town. She has now contacted me, claiming that I "have possession of her personal property," because she thinks there was one box of hers left in the storage unit. She won't leave me alone about it, but we no longer have the storage unit - it was emptied out months ago (no box of hers was in it - we would have given it to her then!). At the same time, she admitted (in writing) that she mistakenly took some items of mine when she left and is willing to trade them for this box that doesn't exist. I honestly don't have her box, but would very much like the items of mine she took, as they belonged to my grandmother. Any suggestions?

1 AnswerLos Angeles9 years agoYelp privacy and protection?
In January of last year, I posted an accurate negative review of a business I used to use. Today, the owner posted a lengthy diatribe against me, threatening to send my billing history and information to anyone who asks for it. He followed up with an email directly to me, trying to bully me into removing my review:
"I am the owner of *********
Your review on my company was rude!
If I were you I would delete it before I make you look worse than you made me look!
I have already had 3 people emailing me fore your account records.... just saying!
You might want to read my response to your review..........:~) two can play at this game!"
What steps can I take - other than giving in to his bullying?

There's a shore excursion that brings you to a resort to spend the day, and I'd like to know which resort it is before I sign up. The cruise line will not provide this information.

9 AnswersInsurance10 years agoQuestion about central heat & air system?
Our home is approx. 1700 square feet, and we are having a problem with either our central heat & air system or our ducts. Is it normal that one room in the house gets either very hot or cold and all others are the opposite (ex. heater is on, and one room is too hot to be in and the others are freezing cold)? Is there anything that can be done about this?
