Your phone will roam when close to shore, we have got signals from 10 miles off shore. The ships phones are satellite operated and will set you back a few dollars. You won`t get a signal until you reach Los Cabos region on the baja penninsula. Then again in Mazatlan and PVR and so on. Internet on the ships can be $4.00 a minute

Yes you´ll need to make advance arrangements through your regular carrier, because your carrier´s signal it´s only for the U.S.
