  • Can I.C.E. legally destroy photo equip that was used by a third party in a crime?

A camera, owned by my mother, was taken and used by a third party to commit a federal crime. ICE came in and collected all of her photographic equipment to investigate. The trial and sentencing of the third party has concluded, but now ICE says (all) the equipment must be destroyed. Does anyone know the legal basis for destroying any of it, and especially the equip that was not involved in the crime? Why not return it to its rightful owner?

  • Will changing traditional HW radiators to flat panel (Runtal VLX) cause Boiler to cycle more often?

We are contemplating changing a gravity HW radiator system to low profile flat panel radiators (Runtal) (we've already changed to a new boiler and added a pump). My concern is that given the flat panels have far less mass, and water volume, that the furnace / boiler and pump will be required to cycle on and off far more frequently. Generally speaking anything mechanical that frequently cycles on and off wears out quicker.

We've changed out one old radiator to a flat panel and found that (even though the BTU output is supposed to be matched to the room by a Runtal rep.) the room never gets as warm as it used to with the large mass radiator.

I am looking for confirmation on the equipment life question, And that the change is also ultimately less energy efficient than the older larger mass system (assumes high efficiency boiler/furnace on both).

  • Yahoo answers appears to be partially disfunctional?

Yahoo answers appears to be partly down 12/28/05 8:45AM EST. Users questions, and "screen names" are not appearing in the question window. Also my recently asked questions are now appearing to demand that I pick a best answer (prematurely), without an opportunity to extend, or put up for a vote.

  • If satan had appeared as a man instead of a serpent, would Eve had said "No-way"?

This started off in my mind as a somewhat humerous commentary for Women who's nature is to dominate, or at least never follow any man. Then when I heard one suggested interpretation of Gen 3:16 "...Your desire will be for your husband" to mean to attack or desire his leadership, I thought perhaps the desire would have been there at the fall, (since Adam's pass-through instruction of God's command was ultimately ignored) and had satan appeared as a man, would she have rejected his recommendation, much like today?

  • Gluing cabinets (reworded): How long to clamp?

I'm making my own base cabinets for the kitchen. It's been 32 years since HS woodshop class. The Elmer's Glue All says "over night" (somewhat vague). I forget how long I should leave the clamps on the corner joints. I just have a fuzzy memory of three days before doing serious work on a glued joint (elmers wood-glue.) When I move the cabinet into place there will be some torsion stress before I place the leveling shims. The corners are reinforced with corner blocks screwed to both surfaces. Solid red oak face, red oak veneer plywood sides, pine plywood back. The solid oak face was pre-stained and finished, though sanded lightly before application.

Also: Any recommendations on best glue to use in this application?

  • Is it customary to tip the Sams Club employee who fills an internet or fax order, if so how much?

As a government employee doing official business there is no mechanism for tipping. A Sams Club employee is assigned the duty of filling internet, and faxed orders as 'his' primary responsibility. Sometimes he/she hangs around while I pay for the order and load the truck as though expecting a tip. I have not seen other orders being picked up and cannot know whether tipping is occasional, frequent, or customary.
