  • Pregnancy After Miscarriage/D&C?

My husband and I started trying for our first child in December. I conceived in March after only 3 cycles (which is great because I am 35). My LMP was 2/24 and at 11 weeks of pregnancy, it was confirmed that our baby did not have a heartbeat and I opted for a D&C. The fetus (a girl) had died around week 8; the tests on the fetus did not show any abnormalities. My body did not realize the pregnancy was no longer viable. I still had all the symptoms. After the D&C, I figured my hormones would return to normal and my cycle would return. I'm now on week 5 and my HCG still hasn't dropped to below 0.

If you have had a D&C for a miscarriage, how long did it take for you to get your period again? I really want my cycles to return to normal again.

My doctor has given us the okay to try for a baby again after I have one period. For those of you who had a miscarriage and/or D&C, how long did it take before you got pregnant again?

    Thank you.

  • Prenatal vitamin problems?

I've always had a problem with taking iron supplements. I have IBS with constipation and iron makes it 100 times worse. So when I saw my doc in November and told her I was trying for baby #1, she gave me a prescription for the prenatal of my choice through a pharmacy. I chose Trimesis because it is given to moms with morning sickness and has no iron (iron supplements are believed to make morning sickness worse). A month or two later, I really read the contents and the pills contained almost no vitamins/minerals. Just basically folic acid and a little calcium. I decided to switch to a vitamin through GNC that has lots of vitamins and minerals including iron but also contains probiotics. I hoped that would help. Wrong. I'm having such a hard time. I'm taking Colace and fiber caplets everyday, drinking tons of water and eating tons of fiber and am still miserable. Anyone else have these problems? Anyone have a no iron prenatal they recommend?

  • It is my time, but is it hers?

I have a 13 year old female Siamese cat. She was diagnosed with hyperthyroid a year ago and was put on medicine that cost me $30/month in addition to labwork every other month costing me $75. The thryoid problem meant when she ate, she metabolized it quickly and was hungry again. After a full year of her not improving on her thyroid meds (which she hated), I stopped them. Over the past year, her weight has dropped to 5 1/2 lbs. Her littermate brother is 18lbs. She is skin and bones. She is very picky about what she eats. She usually licks the gravy off her food and then walks away and meows for more. If I pick her up and put her back in front of her bowl, she'll continue to eat a little and then walk away again and start meowing. I think she is getting dementia. She is drinking tons of water and vomiting a lot. And she is starting to stink really bad. I know she has still has some quality to her life, like lying in a sunny window and sitting in my lap, but I am getting so stressed out over her. She literally meows all day and night and like all Siamese cats is extremely loud. Because she meows constantly, she is constantly pestered by my dog and I am constantly keeping my other cat from eating her food, but if I shut her in a room alone to eat, she refuses. My husband and I are trying to start a family and she is just added stress for us. I am feeling very guilty about just wanting to have her put to sleep. I cannot afford to keep her on medicine that doesn't work and will not put her through stressful tests to find out what is wrong. My guess is that she is diabetic or is in kidney failure as is common in Siamese. She literally floods the bottom of her litter box and cleaning the box is so difficult, last night I just broke down and cried. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance that the time has come to say goodbye and that I'm not just being selfish. I've had her for 13 years; she has moved with me 11 times and I've given her the best life I could but I can't say I will miss her and hate that I feel that way. She has always been a very high maintenance cat, but this past year has been awful. I have tried at least 10 different brands of food with her and also have tried feeding her raw meats and canned tuna which she refuses.

  • Public Records Search, FREE?

I need documentation to show my condo that was foreclosed on is now bank-owned. My HOA is sending me letters telling me I am still responsible for dues until they get proof of the sale at auction. This occurred in Maricopa County, AZ. Does anyone know of a way to be able to search public records for free? Or if I go to the court in person, can this information be given to me for a small fee? Thanks for your help. I'm having a hard time finding any legitimate info online.

  • What breed is this puppy?

We are fostering a 3 month old puppy for a rescue group. She is about 13 lbs. They say she is a Catahoula mix, but her fur texture is more like an Australian Shepherd as is her face. She is a little aggressive with our other dog who is 10 months old and three times the size of the puppy. The puppy doesn't like to share toys or food and can growl and snap at our older dog. Otherwise, she's very mellow. I'd love to understand her breed better before deciding whether or not to keep her. She is very smart and receptive to verbal reprimands when she behaves badly.

Please check out her pics and give me your thoughts. Thank you.

  • Is it bad for a cat to eat dog food?

My female Siamese cat is 13 years old. She has a thyroid problem and is on medicine. Her condition makes her hungry all the time, but she is so finicky about what she will eat. Usually, while she thinks about eating, my other cat will push her to the side and eat her food. She is very thin and just seems to be wasting away. Yesterday, I was preparing to give my dog some wet Iams dog food for her diarrhea. It is the sensitive stomach kind recommended by our vet. I have never in my life seen my cat go so nuts over food. She cried and cried and even tried to push the dog out of the way to help herself. Finally, I gave her a spoonful which she devoured and then begged for more. Is it bad for her to eat dog food? Is it really much worse than giving her Fancy Feast every day? (I know it is a disgusting grocery store brand but that is all she will eat).

  • How bad does foreclosure affect a credit score?

Due to an adjustable rate mortgage that increased $250 in one month at the same time my HOA did a special project assessment for an additional $115 per month, I had to stop making payments on my condo. In early October, I moved out and listed it for short sale (I was not eligible to re-fi). Two buyers have fallen through and after 6 months I have notified my lenders that the property has been taken off the market. I'm being told it will be another 120 days before the foreclosure process is complete.

I checked my credit score last week and it has dropped about 100 points to 682 due to my missed payments since August. How much further will it drop? Anyone else in my position with any advice for rebuilding credit?

  • How to stop defiance peeing?

My dog is about to turn 7 months old. She is an active, intelligent lab/border collie mix. Despite her intelligence, it took us forever to potty train her. We finally reached a point last month where she stopped peeing in the house and started sleeping through the night. Our relief was short-lived. I took her to a friend's house for a play date with their dog and my dog peed in their home. The other dog is 100% potty trained. How embarrassing! Since then, my dog has been peeing in our home again, namely in our bedroom. She seems to do it in retaliation for being scolded or for being removed from an area. As an example, she loves to get in my closet and chew my shoes. Last night, I got her out of my closet using the command "out" and then I left the area. I came back to find a puddle of pee right outside the closet door as if to say, "Take that!"

I don't know what to do, but can't find much info online. We are in obedience training, so I'll ask my trainer next week. Anyone have this problem with their dog? And how do I stop it?

  • Best Wavy Hair Product?

I have very, very thick, shoulder-length, naturally auburn hair that is fairly wavy. I am constantly trying to find that perfect product that eliminates frizz and helps define my waves. I do not like crunchy hair. I used to love John Frieda's Beach waves but that has been discontinued. I currently use a Nexus serum and diffuse my hair upside-down but my hair gets frizzy by the end of the day. Any recommendations for that tousled beach look? I'm not looking to spend more than $20.

  • Good names for a new puppy?

We just adopted a puppy from the pound and pick her up Wednesday. She is mostly black with some merle coloring-sorry, I don't have any pics of her yet. She is believed to be a lab mix of some sort. She has ears like a lab and brown eyes. She has gray fur on her nose, chest and between her eyes and on the tips of her paws.

My husband and I are having the toughest time coming up with a name for her so I'm looking for some suggestions. So far, her personality seems very happy and energetic.

    Some of our considerations include:

    Josey

    Emma

    Ally

    Heidi

Ashley (Ash for short for her gray "ash" colored markings)

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • What age do you recommend neutering cats? ?

I have a male kitten who is 8 weeks old. The vet said he could be neutered at any time. At what age did you neuter your kittens?

  • Why does my kitten spit in my face?

Eight days ago I rescued a stray black kitten from work. I immediately took him to the vet to find that he was very dirty and undernourished but otherwise healthy. The approximate age was 5 weeks. He is eating well and is very active. He was loving from the moment I found him, but has periods of aggression I’m having a hard time understanding. He bites and scratches me daily and has just recently started this habit of spitting at me like a cobra, after which he usually takes a swipe at my face. I have two older Siamese cats that never displayed this type of aggression, especially as kittens. I am hopeful that this behavior will stop as he is very aggressive toward the older cats which puts them on the defense (they are separated 24/7). Does anyone have any ideas as to what this spitting behavior means and what the best way to curb it is? I feel like he is challenging me and trying to intimidate me which only works because I turn away to avoid the spray of spit. We have an appointment to see the vet again 11/1.
