  • Can an old dog housebreak a new puppy?

I have a 4 year old terrier mix, and we recently got a welsh terrier puppy. We got him when he was 8 weeks old, and he is 11 weeks old now.

I've been trying all the typical housebreaking tips including crate training, etc. I had a thought yesterday, however. I tied my two dogs to each other using a coupler, so that the puppy had to go everywhere my dog went. I trust my old dog completely anywhere in the house, and so I realized how she could keep him well behaved if I wasn't around to watch him. Then I wondered if she might be able to help housebreak him!

Has anyone had any experience with this? I'd like to know any tips or suggestions on how to do this - or if I should try it at all (keeping them tied together at certain times during the day). My older dog hates being around any excretion and I wonder if she might correct the puppy when he goes or tries to go inside the house. I've seen her give him a quick correction for other things and he gets the point very quickly.

    Thoughts?

  • Puppy housebreaking?

I have a new 8 week old Welsh Terrier puppy. I've been trying to housebreak him with crate training. I have a couple of questions.

    1. He pees outside just fine. But he wakes up at 4am every morning, I take him outside where he pees. Then we go back to bed and in 1/2 hour-1 hour when I fall back asleep he ends up pooping in his crate even though it is pretty small (big enough for him to get up and turn around in). How do I get him to stop that and poo outside during the day instead? Last night, I stayed up when we got inside from peeing, and watched him until I caught him about to poop. I was a little late, he'd ended up pooping in his crate. I took some of his poo outside for him to sniff but he didn't go even after 20 minutes. Then this morning I woke up to find more poop in his crate! Help!

    2. How can I change his schedule to start waking up at 8am instead of 4am every morning?

Thank you for any help in advance!

  • How do you make Lebanese "Saj" bread at home without the traditional oven?

I have eaten it at a restaurant, and find it the most delicious bread - but unfortunately cannot find it in the area that I live. So I was wondering if any Lebanese people out there may have a recipe for traditional/authentic homemade Saj bread that I can make without having to buy the special concave pan?

  • Why is it called a TOOTHbrush, and not a TEETHbrush?

    An etymology might be helpful.

  • Job Shadowing?

I know very generally what "job shadowing" means: a high school or college student gets to spend a day with a person in their industry, and watch them do real-life work.

I have recently been asked to be shadowed by a college freshman, but before I make any commitments, I would like to get more info about this.

What would I need to do, specifically? Do I need to explain every single thing I do to my shadow? Does he just sit back and watch me work? Can he ask me any questions at any time? Am I supposed to "teach" him anything in particular/prepare for this day, or just do my own usual thing? etc etc etc.

I'd appreciate detailed answers by anyone who has been a shadowee or a shadower - maybe some examples and anecdotes - possibly even things you wish had been different, or things you feel would've improved the shadowing experience.

Thank you very much, I look forward to hearing all answers!

  • Programming?

Any computer programmers out there (Internet programmers, to be more precise - e.g. Actionscript, PHP, etc) - who have ideas on things I could code? I've messed around with a few app ideas, but I just don't know where some programmers come up with ideas for "on-their-own-time" applications that might be useful and help them keep in touch with their coding skills/learn new languages/etc.

  • Dying dark hair purple?

I once saw a girl who had her hair dyed a dark eggplant purple. I have been trying and trying and trying to find different dyes and ways to get my hair that gorgeous colour, but nothing has worked. I wonder if there is a way to do this withough first having to bleach my dark brown hair. If there isn't, what are the pros and cons to bleaching your hair?

  • Personal chef service?

Does anyone know anything about personal chef services? For example, approximate cost, how it works, who it is for, and how to find one in your area? I am interested because my boyfriend and I have very busy schedules, and don't have much time to cook healthy meals regularly for ourselves.

  • Credit history?

How is one's credit history built, and how do you build up a good history? Some people have said to me it's paying utility bills on time, others have said it's spending a lot of money on your credit card every month and paying THAT off on time, and yet others have said you need take out a loan and pay it back on time. So what exactly is it, and how does one get one? At whate age can you start creating a credit history?

  • The meaning of I Heart Huckabees?

This question is inspired by an answer I wrote to one of Introspection's questions (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ame7M...

This movie has affected me very positively, but whenever I have to describe it to other people, I find it very hard to describe; there are so many meanings I have derived from it that I stumble over my words. How would some of you describe this movie? What are the meanings you have derived from it, if any?

People who dislike the movie, please refrain from answering - or at least provide a good enough explanation of why you disliked it.

  • Eating healthy?

I don't know why this is so easy for others, but so tough for me. I work full-time, and hate cooking. I usually eat a lot of carbs (bagels, breads, sandwiches, etc) because it is the quickest and easiest thing for me to eat everyday. I also have a hard time thinking of how to eat my daily fruits and veggies. The only way I can think of cooking veggies is steaming them, and that gets so boring after a while. Does anyone have any good ideas/suggestions for eating healthy on a regular/daily basis, getting my fruits and veggies in and eating a balanced diet, without spending hours in the kitchen everyday?
