I'm Canadian and we do have a single payer healthcare system. The propaganda the U.S. elite are spewing about how bad our system is is obviously a lie. I think Michael Moore's SICKO documentary covers it best. It's quite good and free. I can assure you no one is complaining about the system, if anything how to improve it, not remove it.

My question: why are Americans so afraid of single-payer or even the less threatening Public Option? The public options seems like a good first step, a bit messy, but a good first step towards the "proper" single payer plan.

Is America avoiding single payer (and trying to run from Public Option) due to ignorance and fear? It baffles me when they look at their outrageous bills and premiums and still run away from change. Something is seriously wrong down there and methinks the corporations are more in control than the people.

I'm wiping clean an SDHC memory card (FAT32 format) of any useful data. I've quick formatted and normal formatted it from my Windows Vista PC. After formatting i "filled" the entire card with 7 x 2GB files (dummy blank files). Then i removed the files. I then formatted to the NTFS file system and performed the same method.

Is my SDHC memory card now 100% clean of useful data or is there ANY WAY someone can retrieve my original useful data from the card?

Several U.S. politicians have received or are receiving money from coporations. Obviously such tactics sway how these politicians vote.

Is there some public record which identifies which companies have invested in politicians? That is, are politicans required by law to reveal who they have accepted money from and is such information publically accessible?

Government here in Canada and in the U.S are so inefficient, expensive to run, and have little motivation to improve or pursue cheaper alternatives. All this contradicts a private company.

I would like to see government or even the Obama administration, which seems more open to new ideas (at least when this financial crisis simmers down), actually have some private business oversee how some aspects of government is run. Their entire business model is improving the efficiency and cost of the government service and in return reaps a % profit on the savings each year.

I just won a car from a contest but dont need it so now I would like to sell it. The vehicle is new, straight from the dealer, costing $24,000 CDN. Mileage is 1500km i believe.

If i were to sell it for $15,000 or more how the hell does a potential buyer go about paying in cash such an amount, considering they're directly buying from me? Or does a seller of such a vehicle go somewhere to have others sell it on their behalf offering buyers a payment plan but the seller a lump sum?

Monitor: Benq FP71G LCD

The monitor appears physically fine but when i go to power it on, it turns on (the green light appears) but after half a second the monitor powers itself off. Nothing is ever displayed on the monitor no doubt because there is no time for it to appear.

Any ideas what is going on? All i've done is switch the power cable and VGA cable but still the same affect. I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 and have tried the monitor on different PCs and have tried it unattached to a PC.

I'd be happy to open it up and tinker around with a little guide.

We apparently have squirrels running around in the attic. How they got in is beyond me. I would like to have them removed and the point of entry sealed.

Would i call animal/pest control for that complete task or is their some other expert for such things? What is the typical cost (i live in canada). Or should i handle it myself?

Could the problem be a disabled XP Service?

Im using WinXP SP2. Everything was working fine but after some random app installs I am unable to see the volume control or network icons nor can i see any apps which place have tray icons. Basically no tray icon will show up but of course the apps are running fine.

Now let me make this clear. This has NOTHING TO DO with simply checking on an option in the app or control panel as if such an option is available it is ALREADY checked (i betcha someone will answer with go to CONTROL PANEL and check on the volume control, etc).

An incident occured at the place I work (an ontario hospital). The incident wasnt criminal only an altercation with another employee -- basically a he said / she said. If there was video footage of the incident then I'd have evidence on my side.

I'm curious for the typical hospital in ontario how long do they keep their internal video surveillance footage (the ones within hallways and such). For example do they accumulate up to a day, weeks, months of footage? Or is it just a 8hr cycle and erase. I'm confident what one hospital does in ontario all the other will do the same thing.

Please JUST PROVIDE me with a best guess in how much archived footage they keep.

I own a Matrox G450 DualHead DVI PCI videocard. I am trying to get the dualhead mode active so that i can use 2 monitors at the same time for my desktop. I have already installed the matrox drivers which installs its special software for controlling such things but it has a very adverse affect on Windows XP performance -- Firefox browsing crawls.

Im hoping for software which can activate this dualhead mode but not affect my system performance so badly. Is there some generic software out there which can help
