  • How do I home school my kids in MI?

I would love to start home schooling my kids 5 and 7. They are in public school right now but the school isn't quite meeting their needs. I know their learning styles and both of them are eager for this change but I am for lack of a better phrase, FREAKING OUT!

I am not sure how to choose curriculum and I worry that I would buy the wrong thing and spend way too much money on it. Also my daughter learns very easily and if I do buy something and she gets through it super fast I don't know what to do with that situation.

I have looked at websites but am still not finding answers or guidance. I've tried finding local home school groups but I don't know if these "moms night out" and athletic groups are what I need. I would just like to find someone who is doing this in Michigan and hopefully be able to ask questions and get answers.

  • Need a paralegal or lawyer in MI. Can we use statements in a CPS case to get a PPO ordered for our kids?

Since this CPS case my daughter has been scared to death to leave the house. Even going to school worries her that someone from CPS will come and take her away. The case was closed with the CPS worker rejecting the complaint. We've since then gotten the report and in it is a statement that in a nutshell says -I will take those kids away and won't stop trying-, Can we use the statement to get a PPO ordered for the kids to ease their minds?

  • How old or big do Mallard Ducks have to before slaughter?

We did a lot of research on starting and keep a small poultry farm and did find Mallard's while not preferred can be eaten and that's what TSC provided. So now they have their feathers and we don't know when we can/have to slaughter them before they breed.

  • If a cat gets pregnant will her fertile cycle immediately stop?

My cat is in heat and she flew out the door when our dog was coming in the night before last. She's still meowing and acting like she's in heat and I know we have quite a few tomcats around here. Did we get lucky that she's not pregnant or do they still continue to be in "heat" for the rest of the cycle?

  • Do we need passports to travel from Michigan to Canada?

I have heard many times of changing laws and whatnot but now that it's actually time for us to travel there I cannot find the most recent laws regarding this. Please be specific where you have your info from, because I've seen Granholm proposed soon a valid MI license will be a valid "passport" to Canada too. We will be traveling at the end of Sept.

  • Is there a limit on how soon you can be made to take a PT test?

I just took the APFT 2 weeks ago. Now I am leaving for a school and am supposed to take another test before I go to it. I did great on my last test and just don't want mess it up. I know I'd pass, I just hate taking them like most soldiers, and don't want to ruin a good score. Is there a limit on how soon I can be made to take another test? I thought I could only be made to take a test once every 30 days or something along those lines.

  • Grilling a Beef Chuck Roast?

Ok, I have this 2 lb beef chuck roast steak. Instead of braising it in the oven is it possible to grill it and still turn out ok? My husband and I pretty much grill everything, but I am not good at all with steaks on the grill. If grilling this wouldn't ruin it, detailed advice on how to do this would be fantastic!!

  • Does anyone else feel jipped by the TSO?

Don't get me wrong, I really like the Trans Siberian Orchestras music but..... I noticed on their tour dates they are in 2 ENTIRELY different places doing concerts at the SAME TIME on the SAME night. WHAT?! I went to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra... not half of them and some filler musicians. You don't go see Lynard Skynard playing two different places in one night, or Korn, or the Beetles, or No Doubt! They don't split their bands in half to do two shows on opposite ends of the USA at the same time. Why do they do that to their loyal (and suspecting?) fans!! Am I the only person that feels this way? I mean I'd be more than super pissed if I went to a Kiss concert and only 2 of the real members were there while the other 2 were 1000 miles away doing another concert at the same time....

  • What would you say to a possible employer?

I had an interview last week with p.e. (possible employer) 1. They said they would let me know either way this week. Later this week I have another interview with p.e. 2 for a job I have plenty of experience in. Preferably I want job #1, what would you tell job 2 if I get hired on the spot with job 2 then job 1 calls and says they want me too? I don't want to make job 2 REALLY mad but I would GREATLY prefer job 1 because it's so close and the hours would be more suitable. HELP?

  • Where are these "polls"?!?

Seriously, you always see those results of polls taken, but where would you find them to answer it!? The latest one being the approval of President Bush but ya know.. I never see anything on these polls until they've posted bad results. Anyone else with me on thinking they might be results pulled from thin air?

  • How do I make a custom xbox360 theme?

I am wondering if anyone knows how to use my own pictures for the backgrounds and themes on my xbox360. My computer and Xbox are networked and streamed. I just want to be able to use my photos, for the backgrounds and textures. Instead of either buying one (waste of money) or getting the free ones (usually crappy, occasionally cool)

  • Fleas on Cat help!?

My 5 month old kitten is a completely indoor cat. About a month ago he got outside and got fleas. Since then we have given him two flea baths, MULTIPLE dustings with flea powder and a Hartz gel treatment. Thus right now, he still has a couple fleas. Everything we use on him and our carpet says it kills fleas and larvae plus eggs and the shampoo says it keeps flea eggs from hatching for a month, which is pretty much what the gel treatment says too. I am really not prepared for this ongoing epidemic right now and I don't think it's fair to the cat to keep him locked away from my kids and their toys and also not fair to keep this problem around my kids. I don't have the money at this moment to get something like advantix and even if I did, at this point I don't know if it would work given everything else we've done.

  • Would you consider a marriage a contract?

I realize this was asked before. But more specifically, would it be upheld in court in a case for "breach of contract" lets say if one spouse cheated on the other, or other various instances that may happen in a marriage. Could you sue your "former" spouse beyond a divorce further for breach of contract?

  • Please give me ideas!!!?

I've already asked this and checked out places like marthastewart.com but to no avail!! Any ideas for an adult Halloween party outside, at a horse farm. I need to do this somewhat cheaply so no mechanical stuff. Electricity out there is limited but is available. We'll have a huge bon fire and drinks galore but I need game and event ideas. Thank you!

  • Any Ideas for Games or general things to do at an adult Halloween Party?

I realize Halloween isn't for a couple months still but I want to throw a big one for the first time and I have ideas for decorations and food but other than that I'm stumped. The party will be on a horse farm so we have room but no corn stalks. There are also trails for our trail kart throughout the property. What can we do to have fun?
