Live in New Jersey. I love God, and am a Christian. Hobbies are history, cooking, playing and watching sports, old school movies, and a sitcom junkie.
What is a good Christian book for prodigals?
I am looking for a book regarding Christians who have strayed yet come back; preferably
an autobiography. I heard Franklin Graham's is good.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors7 years agoWhat happens to a tenant in a foreclosure?
The duplex i have lived in for eight years is being foreclosed on. Last Summer, i was handed papers about the foreclosure and since that time, it's been total silence. My landlord doesn't pick up my certified rent checks, and i have had no calls or visits by the bank. How long will this take and should i look to move out or will i just begin paying rent to the bank?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoWhat's the best way to pay off $12,000?
I REALLY want to figure out a game plan for paying off my financed car faster than the loan term. They nailed me with 18% interest and if I "ride it out," the $16,000 car will end up costing me $28,000.
I net $2,100 a month and after expeneses only have about $500-600 left. Any advice for knocking my car down?
3 AnswersPersonal Finance8 years agoAuto Refinancing with bad credit?
Are there any companies that will work with people with bad credit that wish to refinance their car? I had to make some sacrifices over the years and in turn currently have terrible credit. My car payment on my 2010 is $376 a month with 18% interest. I paid $476 last month to try and send extra and only $276 went towards principal!
4 AnswersCredit8 years agoWhen should you have a tune-up?
My car is about to hit 30,000 miles. When would you recommend a tune-up? So far, the only thing done to it has been six oil changes(every 5,000). It's a '10 Toyota Yaris sedan. Not sure when to change spark plugs.
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoWhy does my body keep looking worse?
I have always had "rolls" here and there but I noticed lately my hamstring area, chest, and midsection look the flabbiest I have seen in years. However I always eat normal, usually under my daily recommended caloric intake. I was out of work and extremely sedentary for three months, could that be why? Was basically a couch potato.
3 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agoWorse option: Missing multiple payments or filing Chapter 7?
I'm in a bind where unless a full-time job starts soon, I'm going to fall behind on lots of payments, especially my credit cards. I have a financed car, but should be able to maintain that payment, as I feel that's more important to focus on than the credit cards if having to choose.
I talked to an attorney the other day who is setting me up for a meeting on Friday and how they can't wait to help me be debt free. I'm leary of whether to pursue it still or not as I've bounced around different articles online and Dave Ramsey said to avoid Chapter 7 bankruptcy at ALL costs.
Here's my question: If you end up missing card payments, can't catch back up(after they tack on late fees the following month), won't it just snowball and end up where you'll have to declare anyway from being so backed up? I'd much rather get the bankruptcy done with and know that I'm debt free and exactly what not to do the second time around, then to be sued by credit card companies.
Any advice?
PS-I've already been told to avoid credit counseling companies at all costs, so that's not even an option for me.
4 AnswersCredit9 years agoWhat could rattling from my engine mean?
I own a 2010 Toyota Yaris, bought brand new and currently has 19,000 miles on it. I noticed that my engine area makes a loud/distinct rattling sound during two separate incidences: 1) Happens while gear is in "drive" but at a stop, such as at a red light or at a fast food drive through(It goes away if I shift to neutral) and 2) When I put the car into reverse gear.
Is this something serious, ie should I tell my dealership right away?
Thank you.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoIs it time for a tune up yet?(2010 Toyota Yaris)?
I currently drive a 2010 Toyota Yaris sedan. I financed it back in June of 2010. It is approaching 18,000 miles in a few days. Is it too soon to consider having a tune-up done to it? I like to "baby" my cars, and since the car is so new still, the only things that have been done to it are three oil changes, replacing of air filter, and new wiper blades. Just trying to do any preventive maintenance that I can.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoCar is approaching 20,000 miles, anything I should do to it?
I bought a 2010 Toyota Yaris Sedan last year, brand spanking new. It currently has a little over 17,000 miles on it, since I bought it in June 2010. So far, I've done all the routine things, 3 oil changes, with a 4th one coming up at 20,000, new wiper blades back in the Spring, and a new air filter last month. I always like to "baby" my cars and hate the feeling that I'm just getting in the car and "going." Is there anything I can be doing to it, replacing on it, etc that will help the car's life? I was going to replace the fuel filter until I researched it and found out that my car has an "internal" fuel filter that lasts the life of the car. So, that's another thing not to worry about.
9 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoHow often should you replace your brakes?
I have a 2010 Toyota Yaris, it's 14 months old and just reached 16,000 miles a few days ago. So far, I've had three oil changes, replaced my wiper blades, and am replacing the air filter this weekend. Besides the fact of hearing noisy brakes or feeling a rougher stop, what mile marker should you consider changing your brakes? I have pads in the front and shoes in the rear. I'm a car novice, that's the only reason I'm asking!
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoCar a year old, should I replace anything?
Yesterday was exactly a year since I purchased my 2010 Toyota Yaris. The car was hot off the assembly line. In that time, I have done 3 oil changes and tire rotations(every 5,000 like the manual said) and replaced my wiper blades. Should I look into spark plugs, fuel filters, air filters, etc? What could need attention after 14,300 miles(current reading)?
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoWhat needs replacing at 15,000?
My 2010 Toyota Yaris is approaching 15K in another month or so. Do I need to replace anything such as air or fuel filters? It feels weird not having to always make repairs like my old cars I used to have. Thanks.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoOf these choices, what's the best major to pursue in college?
So, here's the deal. I'm 26 years old, still living at home, and have no clue what I want to do with my life. I am working full-time, 40 hrs a week, making $11/hr in New Jersey, which isn't much, considering how high the cost of living here is.
I have an Associate Degree with the major in Communications. I received that a few years ago and procastinated in regards to further pursuing a higher degree. It's finally hit me again that I need more, a Bachelors, a Masters, whatever it takes to get better jobs. The problem is, there are various areas that I enjoy. For example, have an interest in 1)finance/business 2) management 3) sports such as broadcasting or writing 4) Computers 5) sticking with Communications and focusing on advertising or public relations. Also, last year I got my CDL-B permit to possibly pursue truck driving. I just haven't taken the road test yet. What do I do? How can I pick just ONE of these majors? I'm just worried, as I don't know what area is the best to go after. All I want is to be able to have a family and take care of a wife and kids in the future, but don't want to be stuck with dead end $11 an hour jobs. I feel that I'm intelligent and that the jobs I've held have never challenged me. Any advice?
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoHow much does installing power locks & keyless entry cost?
I have a car with manual locks and windows; how much on average, would professional installation cost for power locks with keyless entry? I saw a keyless entry kit in the store yesterday for $50, but you had to already have power lock, so what would be a normal price to pay so that I know I'm not getting overcharged?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow long do you get out of brand new tires and brakes?
Back in June, I purchased a brand new 2010 Toyota Yaris. It had 17 miles on it when I drove off the lot and I am currently at 8,500. So, I'm averaging around 1,400 miles a month. I was just curious how many miles(or years if that's easier) should I except to get before considering replacing my tires and brakes. This is just a general question, as things such as road hazards and driving more than usual can lead to needing those parts faster. Thanks!
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat ways can I treat cracked skin due to cold weather?
Every Fall and Winter, the skin over my knuckle area on my hands cracks, blisters, and stings. I never seem to be able to find anything that helps heal it. I've mainly tried using Vaseline and that only seems to soothe it temporarily. Thanks for any suggestions.
5 AnswersFirst Aid1 decade agoTaking the train from Harrison, NJ to NYC, where's the best place to park?
My girlfriend and I might be taking a little road trip to NYC this Saturday for the day. We are coming from South Jersey and would rather have the freedom of driving our own car than sitting in a cramped bus. Doing research, I found the most affordable way to get to NYC without actually driving into the city, is to take the PATH train in Harrison, NJ, which goes to the WTC station in Manhattan. Our only question is where would we leave our car? We'll probably be gone from the AM until around 9 or 10PM as we want to spend the entire day in NYC. Is Harrison's parking free or is there anywhere nearby that is relatively cheap for the rate of an entire day? Thanks.
New York City1 decade agoIs it possible to make a car with manual locks have power locks? If so, how much would it cost?
I have a 2010 Toyota Yaris with manual windows and door locks. How much would it cost to have keyless entry installed and what parts would I need to purchase? I'm already used to having manual, but power locks would definitely be convenient down the road.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoIs it worth the trouble to pursue unemployment?
My job recently laid me off on Friday, that was my last official day. I had started there back in June, and one of my co-workers said to jump right into unemployment. My only gripe with that is that I can't stand the thought of sitting around collecting money, as I like being a party of the everyday work world. Besides, it's embarrassing to be standing in those long lines and such. What's the process, and have any of you ever filed? I live in New Jersey, not sure if different States have different policies for collecting.
