  • Now that the republicans will be in control of the House of Representatives?

Will they stop playing the blame game and come up with real solutions to our problems that don't make the wealthy wealthier and the poor poorer?

  • Is this political joke funny?

    Woman shot in head...

Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of Birmingham, was visiting her in-laws and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries. Later, her husband noticed her sitting in her car in the driveway with the windows rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. He became concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Linda's eyes were now open and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Linda replied that she had been shot in the back of the head and had been holding her brains in for over an hour.

The husband called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked, and Linda refused to remove her hands from her head.

When they finally got in, they found that Linda had a wad of bread dough on the back of her head. A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly recovered.

Linda is blonde, a republican and a Palin supporter, but that could all be a coincidence.

The defective biscuit canister was analyzed and it was determined to be Barack Obama's fault.

  • Now that the republicans have won a small victory by taking control of the House of Representatives?

Will they really work across the aisle as Boehner stated last night or will it be Business as usual of blocking the recovery of America as they did in the past to instill dissatisfaction in the American Populace?

  • Has Obama lost the Gay and Lesbian vote with the DADT fiasco?

I can't believe he ordered the Justice Department to appeal the Judges decision that dadt violates the constitution. The Government could just let the judgement stand, they are not forced to automatically appeal.

  • Why do so many conservatives say that America's Founders were Christians?

Just look at what some of them had to say about Christianity:

"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned; yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth." - Thomas Jefferson

"I have found Christian dogma unintelligible...Some books on Deism fell into my hands...It happened that they wrought an effect on me quite contrary to what was intended by them; for the arguments of the deists, which were quoted to be refuted, appeared much stronger than the refutations; in short I soon became a thorough deist."

-Benjamin Franklin, "Toward the Mystery" (autobiography)

"When the clergy addressed General Washington on his departure from the government, it was observed in their consultation, that he had never, on any occasion, said a word to the public which showed a belief in the Christian religion, and they thought they should so pen their address, as to force him at length to declare publicly whether he was a Christian or not. They did so. However, the old fox was too cunning for them. He answered every article of their address particularly except that, which he passed over without notice....he never did say a word of it in any of his public papers...Governor Morris has often told me that General Washington believed no more of that (Christian) system than he himself did.

    -Thomas Jefferson, diary entry, 2/1/1799

"As the government of the United States of America is not on any sense founded on the Christian Religion, - as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of of Musselmen (Muslims), - and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries."

  • Why do the whining republicans keep saying the new Health Care Law is unconstitutional?

What will they say when all the lawsuits filed fail? Will they be screaming that the Supreme Court was bought?

  • Are you glad that President Obama has finally grown a pair of Testicles?

He has wasted enough time trying to a appease and appeal to the childish republicans. For the sake of the Citizens of the United States he and the Democrats had to start making decisions with out them and move the Country forward.

  • Would Jesus be considered a Socialist by today's standards?

He went around the country side feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, healing the sick, teaching the those yearning for knowledge. He even admonished us to do the same, "What you do for the least (of Humanity) you do for me.".

So my question is by today's standards was Jesus a Socialist. It sounds like it to me. What are your thoughts?

  • Who really cares if the "Public Option" Insurance plan puts Insurance Companies out of business?

The insurance companies have had six decades to become Socially Responsible Companies. They could have come up with affordable plans to cover all Americans while still making a profit. But instead they worshiped at the altars of Greed.

They made money by denying coverage to people with existing conditions. Earned bonuses for refusing to cover procedures for which they gladly accepted the premiums from people who thought they would be covered. What is more tragic is that 29,000 people die a year because they do not have access to health care services and because the insurance companies denial to pay for procedures that could save their lives.

I agree that it isn't the insurance companies "responsibility" to find a way to cover all Americans cheaply, but if they had been more "Socially Responsible" and come up with a plan to do so we wouldn't be having this debate now, and they would not be scared the Government is going to put them out of business by making them compete with a public option Insurance plan. Greed has a way of making some people very shortsighted.

  • Why is my state going Bankrupt?

I am from Georgia. For years, when Democrats were in control of our state we always had a balanced budget with surplus funds.. The first year our state elected a republican Governor and a republican controlled state legislature we had a deficit. Now our republican governor is into his second term still with a republican majority state legislature and we are having to furlough state employees and even lay off teachers.

The only thing that is different is the leadership of my state.
