Electro-Fogey

I got an Adesso Cyber Tablet 12000, and installed it on my Windows Vista Home Premium system (service pack 1). Whenever I try to draw anything in any program, a strange ring icon appears in the upper-center of the screen, and it automatically starts adding lines from my drawn lines to this ghost ring. Anything I draw turns into a forest of lines going to this ring and it ends up looking like a starburst on the screen. It's interesting art, but it's completely useless for actually drawing anything.

It looks to me like this may be from Windows Vista's Pen and Input Devices feature (the ring looks like it's part of the "dynamic feedback" or "pen flicks"). However, I've tried to disable these things, and I still get the ring interfering with my drawings.

Has anyone had this problem and can suggest a workaround?
