  • A Question to be asked?

They don’t let me into Wal-Mart anymore. At least, not since “The Incident” a few months ago.

I still don’t see how it was entirely my fault. Who could resist? The way they were smiling at me from all around, flaunting those bright colors like that. They were asking for it, I tell you. So, I gave it to them.

At first, just one was enough, and I was satisfied, even felt a bit guilty, but then there was no more rush. I needed more, and Wal-Mart was there to provide.

Now I’ve been labeled. A Cereal Rapist. How embarrassing.

  • The Green Hornet Dream Casting?

So, for a number of years now there has been rumor upon rumor of a new Green Hornet film in the works. Based upon recent information, or actually the lack thereof, it now appears that this is highly unlikely as basically everyone who had been previously involved in any way has long since dropped it, and there is now no production company even attached to it since Miramax, the previous holders of the movie rights, have closed down shop. There is an excellent fan film online (I'll not post the site here, find it yourself if you're curious) but this only allows for a small taste of what we are missing as GH fans. I have considered what the story of a current dated film should have, and have determined that the best idea would be a sequel or continuation of the pre-set story lines, and just expand upon the family legacy as was done in the NOW comics series of the 1990's. On that note, I would say that Japanese actor Tak Sakaguchi (Versus) should play Kono Kato. Thoughts on others?

  • Godzilla: Just how tall is it?

Okay, so I was just wondering if anyone had a definative response to just how tall Godzilla is?

It seems that the size of this thing fluctuates greatly from movie to movie, and from era to era.

In 1954 Gojira (that's the Japanese name) was said to be 50 meters tall, which works out to about 160 feet or so, however, in the most recent movies, up to and includeing Final Wars, the monster appears to be much, much taller, as do the things that battle against it.

Was something changed as the gnerations of Godzillas went by? Or did I miss something?

So, to reiterate, my question is: How tall is Godzilla?

Please, no one point out that this is a Japanese man in a rubber suit, therefore likely only about 7 feet tall. I am aware of this.

  • Steve McQueen: Care to read below for question?

So, as we approach the 26th anniversary of Steve McQueen's death, I find myself wondering what may have been had he not passed in 1980.

I wonder, would he have conitnued to make movies after the production of THE HUNTER in 1980, or would he have disappeared from the spotlight again? Would his career have mirrored that of Clint Eastwood, moving him into production and direction while starring in a few choice pictures, or would he have grown like Paul Newman and continued acting into old age? What are your thoughts, out there?

Please, as with my other questions, do not answer sarcastically. If you don't have any thoughts on this subject, then pass on answering rather than boosting your point score.

    Thank you.

  • Cape construction pattern/instruction...?

I'm looking to find out how to construct a cape similar to those worn in the 19th century. Full length, and wide enough to wrap around me like a cloak of sorts. In addition, I am looking for it to have the secondary layer on the outside of the cape, that covers the shoulders like a secondary cape at the top, and to have a free standing collar which can come around as if it were a coat collar, not like a "Dracula" collar that stands up at the back. This will be of the style of Sleepy Hollow or Vidocq. Any help, links, or pattern identifiers would be of great help as I am hoping to have something like this for a Halloween party.

  • For the record, folks?

Just for the record here, I am not now, nor have I ever been a doctor in the medical sense of the word. I am The Doctor, which is in reference to the classic BBC television character of Doctor Who. Some of you have likely figured this out already based upon my avatar picture.

I do make it a habit to study societal trends, and am a studier of human behavour, so in essence I am more closely related to this fictional character "The Doctor" then to any actual doctor of medicine, science, or philosophy.

If you reply to this you will get free points for your answer, so write whatever you choose. I may even pick a "best answer" if you impress me with your creativity.

Or, if anyone knows of this happening before, that would also be a help. Please, no smart alec answers, as this is a very serious question and I am only looking for serious answerers. I've respected these requests for others, so would appreciate the same respect for this question.

  • If you could have any bit of.......? Read below for details.?

If you could choose any bit of science fiction technology from the smallest of communicator ( a-la Star Trek ) to the biggest ship ( Super Star Destroyer like in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi ) what would it be, and why?

Personally, I would choose the TARDIS from Doctor Who. It can travel to any point in history, anywhere in the universe, at any given time.

  • What the heck makes Naruto so bloody popular?

Every year some new anime show is imported from Japan and poorly translated for the North American audiance. It runs for a while, and has merchandise out the @$$, then disappears with nary a trace. I've seen several episodes of the more popular ones recently (Full Metal Alchemist, Inu Yasha, and Naruto to name a few) and they are all lousy. The stories are poor, the voice acting is awful, and the animation isn't really on par with much of the earlier anime shows that have been released here. Is the audiance for these things getting younger? Is that why they can be so poorly translated now? What is it about these shows tht attracts droves of people for a year or so until they eventually get flogged to the point that no one is interested anymore? Anyone else remember Yu Gi Oh?

  • Do celebs really hang out here?

A number of people floating about this site claim to be celebs of some sort or another. I find it highly dubious that any celeb would actually post something like that here, so I am just curious if anyone has actually encountered a legit celeb on this site, or can verify whether or not real celebrity types actually post stuff here.

  • Re: The Jet Li movie The One-Read Below Please.?

Okay, so I just re-watched the Jet Li movie THE ONE last night and something came up that I thought I'd ask for your opinion on. Jason Statham's character seems to have an unlimited supply of guns, and in the gas station scene removes one from a case in his trunk, which seems a wee bit far fetched to me (okay, the whole movie is a big fantasy, but bear with me here).

So, my question is: Where does he get all these guns when he left whatever universe he was from with only what he had on his person at the time?

Please do not answer anything about having them stuffed up various body parts.

Most creative answer will win this round.

  • If you could travel to any point in time, when would it be?

So, you have yourself a nifty new time machine, but it can only work twice due to some flaw in the power supply. The second trip is to bring you home, when would your first trip be to? You can travel to any time, past or future, and any location. When would you go to, and why that specific point in time?

  • Is it a smart idea to track down a girl I went out with a couple of times? I know she had a good time.?

I met this wonderful lady at a party, then we spent the day together shortly thereafter watching the entire first season of Battlestar Gallactica on DVD. Following that, we went out to a movie and, when we met at the theatre, she ran into my arms from across the parking lot. She's leaving the country in about 4 months, but I really enjoy being with her. I have a strong suspision where she is, but have no way of contacting her as I do not have the number to that location.
