Why is "honor killing" one sided?
It seems to me that if Muslims really cared about their women to not be defiled they would go after the rapist and kill HIM so that he doesn't defile any more women.
7 AnswersAnthropology6 years agoLegally, can a hotel room be auctioned off as a special event room?
We are thinking about dressing up one of our rooms with special decorations and gifts for the customer to keep in unity with the annual special event. We would only keep the cost of the room and give the rest to local charity.
3 AnswersRenting & Real Estate7 years agoIs this legal Manager harrassment?
If a manager threatens an employee that the manager is going to do everything in her power to make sure the employee is not able to leave that company to a higher paid, higher quality job, does the employee have a legal right to file law suit of harassment? Manager said, "You better get used to working here because I am going to do everything in my power to make sure you don't get another job."
3 AnswersLaw & Legal7 years agoHow professional are you supposed to act at minimum wage?
My husband is tired of the BS at his minimum wage job. Managers are demanding hard working employees to do the work of the lazy employees as well. When he complains, the manager tells him to act professional. He has been refused any kind of pay raise for the last 5 years even though they claim he is the best dishwasher they got to the point that he is titled as dish washer trainer. Still, no pay raise? What should they expect?
3 AnswersLaw & Legal8 years agoDo I need to get more medical attention after my garter snake bit me?
I didn't consider it a big deal because it didn't hurt. Now I am not so sure. Tuesday my snake bit me. I thouroughly cleaned it out and thought I was fine. Yesterday I got really sick. I drank alot of water because my stomache felt sour and projectile vommitted. My arms felt tingly and I had to lay down for a while. Today I still feel over tired and my arms are still shaky and my stomache is still sour. Is this from the snake or am I blowing things out of proportion? Is it just from the heat?

2 AnswersGeography1 decade agoWould the "Big Quake" predicted for California have any effect on Yellowstone's caldera?
It is predicted that the "Big Quake" is supposed to happen this year. The caldera in Yellowstone national park is about 600 miles away, but it is predicted that people on the east coast are supposed to feel the effects of the earthquake. There is a pocket of lava about 245 cubic feet at about 2500 degrees faranheight. Earthquakes around the caldera average 2,000 a year. This proves that the caldera is very much alive. So could the "Big Quake" trigger the "Big Erruption?"
3 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agoWhy doesn't everyone pull over for the cops?
I know that it may be possible that it may not be the law in every country but after watching shows like Smoking Guns Dumbest Criminals, Cops, and World's Most Dangerous I have noticed people puting themselves in harm's way by not pulling over. The other thing is that the cops need a clear unobstructed path to get to the criminal so they can take the idiot off the street before he or she causes more damage. So please, if you see the flashing lights - pull over!
9 AnswersSafety1 decade agoTo criminals running from the cops with a helicopter following you: where do you think you are going to go?
1. Cop helicopters have infrared cameras that allow them to see body heat. They can even track you into the woods.
2. Cop cars themselves all are equipped with video cameras to have a video record of your stupidity.
8 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade ago"Into the Woods" musical; is there more to the witch's story?
In the musical "Into the Woods" the witch retells a story in which her mother claimed that if any of the beans would leave the garden there would be a terrible consequence, but no details are told. Is there more to the story? I did not find anything in the complete Grimm stories of which this musical is based on.
2 AnswersTheater & Acting1 decade agoIn the musical "Into the Woods" there is a Mystery Man. Who is he?
Into the Woods is a musical based on the real stories from the Brother's Grimm. I have searched the whole book but there is no "Mystery Man" quoting along the lines of, "At first I seem mysterious, on further examination I'm nothing serious." What story did he come from?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoCan we at least agree not to commit abortion if the fetus is 24 weeks old?
Neurological View
6-24 weeks
Life begins when the brain produces measurable waves.
Death is marked by the loss of the pattern produced by a cerebral electroencephalogram (EEG). If life and death are based upon the same standard of measurement, then the beginning of human life would be recognized when a fetus acquires a recognizable EEG pattern. There is much disagreement about when this occurs.
Ecological View
25-27 weeks
Life begins when the fetus can survive outside the uterus.
Viability is generally determined by the sufficient maturation of the lungs. With modern medicine, a premature baby can breathe outside of the womb as early as 25 weeks after conception.
This doesn't even include the Biblical concept which states that life begins at the heartbeat when it is said that the blood is the river of life. I understand that not everyone agrees on prolife or pro choice, but I think we should be able to agree that 24 weeks should be plenty of time to make a decision and it should not wait further than that.
