A learning student, very content with life at 68 and learning new things every day. Whether you accept it or not, there is a God that is in absolute control and only asks you to accept that fact. Whether you do accept it or not is your decision but for sure now you can not deny that you have been told about it. I do enjoy email exchanges on opinions related to the hows and whys of human existence.
Is the God of the bible ever referred to by a personal pronoun rather than a name?
Many say he is in Genesis 1:27.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAccording to the bible, when did time really start?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoGod said "Let there be light and there was light". God is light! Is this where God created himself?
Give it a lot of thought before you answer
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf evolution is the answer, do all animals have the moral concept that mankind seems to have?
If all animals do not have it, why not since evolutions declares all does come from the same origin?
28 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf you have a God, is he in control of everything in His creation if He is the creator in your opinion?
Many say they have a God who is in control but they still have free will. How can one control and still give free will in choices? On the other hand if this God is in control, how can he hold those he controls accountable for their act, actions, or choices?
Please answer with pure consistency if you can and will.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do not terrorist leaders blow themselves up? Why do not Christian leaders give all they have to the poor?
Is it the same answer for both of these question the fact that it seems to be "Do as I say and pay no attention to what I do?"
If such is the case, then what happened to leadership?
Please give me Your view
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the mark of a good leader?
One who trains others to be a leader, one who leads by example, or both ways?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs it possible that I am missing something?
I ask this question and got ten answers that all say the bible and Jesus are both the word of God. In my view what is wrong with any form of thought.
"What is really the truth in respect to the bible? Do these individuals really listen to their own words?"
I am not saying it is wrong for one to believe what they want, but when they declare their belief to others as being the truth, them I must check it out and wonder about their reasoning.
All the bibles I have read have the words of Adam. Abraham, Job, Moses, David, Peter, Paul, the Devil, the Serpent, etc. Are they all God?
Would not a better truth be that the bible contains the word of God or maybe the bible contains the words God wants all to understand?
If you can not see that and still insist that the Bible is the word of God, please explain the position of Adam, Moses, and Paul in the God or Godhead.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is really the truth in respect to the bible? Do these individuals really listen to their own words?
Too many preachers and teachers say the bible is the word of God. Next they say that Jesus is the word of God and the bible proves this as a fact. Now which is it? Is the bible the word of God or is Jesus the word of God?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIsn't everything written by anyone at least inspired by the desire of the writer to make a note of something?
I ask this question because I see that knowledge can be gained from everything written and one can learn new things for all are tools to learning. All do reveal facts about the writer.
I post this here as the word inspired and inspiration are words used a lot by those in this section. Should it not be the fact that the most important to be considered is the source of the inspiration along with purpose?
I am of the opinion much has been written and [stated in words] about the bible but I many times wonder who really inspired the writing or oral words. Has this happened to you also?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs creation completed? If so when? If not when will it be completed?
I ask this question because nine [9] English translated bibles use the word created in the past tense in Genesis 1:1. This word in this form declares that creation is completed and yet all that is seen in the world and in the universe is change. If it is completed, why the changes as created does designate finished or accomplished.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo you use a dictionary when you study the Bible? Have you ever looked up word definitions as a tool?
I ask this:
When it says "He made the stars also and the two great lights" in Genesis 1:1`6, what is this referring to?
I ask this question now because I ask the above question about Genesis 1:14-16 and not one answer even considered that the word star had more than one applicable definition. Not one saw that Jesus is:
An artistic performer or athlete whose leading role or superior performance is acknowledged.
One who is highly celebrated in a field or profession. ****[Definition from The dictionary free on Yahoo]****
I am not comparing Jesus to a Hollywood star at all. I am just recognizing that He did something that I could not do and did it perfectly. Thus I do recognize His superior performance for that was his assigned Job just as any athlete or performer.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen it says "He made the stars also and the two great lights" in Genesis 1:1`6, what is this referring to?
The word light is two fold in meaning. It means the entity that does radiate the light such as a candle, light bulb, or even Jesus who was a light unto the world. Likewise it means the illumination or radiated light that is sourced in the entity state prior. In these words is it talking of the radiated light or about the entity itself from which the light is radiated?
My view is it is talking about the who or what and not about the radiated light itself.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoFor those who say Jesus was the creator, who rested in Genesis 2:3? Was it all of God or only part of God?
I ask this for Jesus said "My father is working still. Jesus also stated He would build his church and building is a sequence in create that leads to creation.
Added to this, the father stated that some would not enter into His rest.
Can this all be explained clearly with Jesus as the creator?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIn your view is there an absolute standard for what is pure truth and can mankind learn it?
I see man has accepted truths, relative truth, temporary truths, lies that become truths. etc. So many definitions for truth but seldom is it heard that there is an absolute truth that is accepted by very many.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre we all victims of our pure innate nature and our desires? Is this what makes us make foolish decisions?
It is said that most of the people want to be fooled most of the time. I do find this a very true statement. Read the news and just look at the victims of scams, etc. Read of ineffective elected officials, complaints of people who purchase worthless items because they were declared to be bargains, etc.
Will we ever learn to control our desires to get rich fast, etc.?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy did you choose your outlook of being an Atheist, Theist, or a Agnostic? Are you sure you chose right?
I am not questioning your choice for that is your right in my view. I am just curious what did bring forth or cause the decision
26 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOn what are your standards based that determine what you accept as truth?
Is it your knowledge, your experiences, your desires, the opinion of others, Logic, reason, or do you just accept what you want and reject what you want?
