How do I get my new "system" to boot using my old hard drive?
I have been running XP Home, using an AMD Athlon 2600+ on an MSI KT4 Ultra Motherboard for the last few years with no problems. I recently decided to upgrade the processor (Core 2 Duo), which naturally required a new motherboard (ASUS P5E-VM HDMI), RAM and power supply. After plugging everything in, including my old hard drive, and hitting the power button, Windows just hangs during the boot phase then reboots. It justs keeps doing that until I shut it off.
I have tested the new hardware using a different hard drive and a clean install of Ubuntu Linux (not that there is anything wrong with Linux, I am using it right now, but I still need XP and I want to keep everything else that I have installed on the old hard).
I have tested the "old" hard drive by installing it in the old system and it boots and works just fine.
Can I delete hardware profiles or something to get it to boot up using my old XP operating system?
2 AnswersDesktops1 decade agoMy wife and I will be in Sao Paulo this weekend, are there any GOOD CLUBS to go to in the Jardins area?
We are going to Carnaval on Saturday and we want to go to a club on Sunday or Monday. We are staying near Paulista Avenue. Any ideas would be appreciated!
We might want to dance a little Samba, but other types of clubs might be okay too.
4 AnswersSao Paulo1 decade agoShould I euthanize my goldfish, if so, how?
My poor goldfish suffered a tragic traumatic injury when I was cleaning leaves out of the pond the other day. It now suffers from a bent spine. Should I let it pass naturally, because I doubt it will be able to eat because it spirals when it swims and has been spending most of the time on its side at the bottom of the pond. Or, should I give it a quick end? If so, how? I have read several articles on the internet, but they are full of speculation. Should I just put it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer?
16 AnswersFish1 decade agoIs there any treatment for a goldfish with a bent spine?
My goldfish suffered a traumatic injury when I was cleaning leaves out of my pond. It now has a bent spine and is not able to swim straight. It just rolls when it swims. Is there any treatment? Is there any hope that its injury will heal? I need to know if I should end its suffering or try to let it get better. Thanks for your help!

9 AnswersPolitics2 decades agoHow do you make "rice flour mortar"?
The story is that the Great Wall of China was built, in part, but mixing rice with mortar which was then used to fasten bricks together. Now, 1,000s of years later, the mortar is still there, but the bricks have since weathered away.
If I want to build something that will last for thousands of years, I want to use proven technology. Does anyone know how to mix rice mortar, ratios, etc.?

We have all heard about them and, at one time, there was bitter debate amongst the politicians, but what are they? Why should we have them or not? Have they been completely abandoned?

Is it true that "the Sept. 11 attacks were, according to bin Laden, a direct response to ... I mean really, they are rioting because, if they actually get a job, they might have to actually work to keep it (but only for two years). Boo-hoo!! I don't understand why they would prefer to deal with unemployment rates that hover around 50%. I guess they have better social programs than the US.
What do you say to that?

Before you answer that I am crazy or something, you may want to look at the last question that I asked. The theory is sound, it is the technology that I am looking for.
