  • PBS kids music show from the late 70s or early 80s.?

I'm trying to find out about a show from the late 70s or early 80s on PBS. I only remember that it was music oriented. The intro had some guy in a tux with long hair conducting music and the background in the intro was a brownish orange color. I know it always came on in the mornings after Sesame Street and Electric Company. It woulda been sometime between 77 and 81. It's been driving me up the wall trying to remember it. Grrrrrrr.....

  • Wearing Turban or Keffiyeh?

I was thinking about wearing a Keffiyeh or Turban. Not for any religious reasons, or reasons of protest. Just because. Like when I work in my yard.

I was wondering if its insulting at all or negative in any way to any Sikhs or Arabs to wear one. Or if its seen as being a-ok, or just plain weird that a white man would wear one at all.

And yes, I know the difference between a turban and a keffiyeh.

  • Bicycle using alternative materials (Copper, Bamboo, PVC, ABS, Metal Conduit, Iron Pipe, etc...)?

So, I'm just asking. Does anyone have any suggestions, experience or info about using any of the above commonly available materials found at your local Lowe's or Home Depot. I know that Chrome-Moly, aluminum and carbon fiber are the norm. But I was just sitting at my desk and wondering...

I was especially wondering about the realistic usability of copper, and with that, its strength.

    Websites are a plus!!!

    Hmmmmmm....

  • Yohimbe Trees, seeds, seedlings.?

Ok, I've looked, and I DON'T want to buy pills or raw bark. I just want either seeds, bare root stock, or full on trees. Does anyone know where you can buy any? And yes, I'm in the US, and yes my pee pee works perfectly fine, thank you. I've just always wanted a Yohimbe tree, along with an Acacia and Baobab tree.

  • What is Normality?

I asked this question in Society & Culture, but thought I'd ask it again in General Health.

An interesting question popped into my head this morning. What is normality? I'm speaking of human behaviour.

I ask this as someone who has Unipolar depression. Yeah I take meds for it, good ones too. :-) One for the seratonin and norepinephrine uptake and another for sodium channel blocking. Basically giving my brain a bit of a stronger charge, think of going from using a tiny wire to using a thick cable for transmitting electrical power. Which one is more efficient?.

    Anyways...

I just wanted everyones opinion on what normalcy is to them. Work, life, sex, social, eating, drinking, relationships, parenting, exercise, recreational, entertainment, music, you name it...

    What to you is normality?

And FYI: I really don't drink, its a name from a character I hear on the radio.

  • What to do about my wife...?

My wife and I have been married for almost 5 years, it's actually been a good marriage. We are both in our mid 30s, have kids from different marriages, and have no plans on having any more. A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with depression, and yes I take meds for it, but they are for the actual chemical problems with seratonin uptake and so on.

The other night she told me about how she feels 100% complete in our relationship, but still wants to feel like a wife the husband looks forward to seeing at the end of the day, etc... But, I don't. Thing is my wife is lazy as a wife. Sex would be the issue here, but it really boils down to just plain old laziness. She gets saddened about weighing almost as much as I, 200lbs, but when I tell her lets go to the gym, she takes it as an insult and complains. As a result it's not just her weight that she needs help with, it's also her sexuality, her drive... I'm 100% open to all suggestions, even if I have tried it before.

    Thanks!!!

  • A movie for a girl?

My daughter is 10, and I promised her tonight I'd sit down and watch any movie of her choice. She's been a real champ at watching movies with me and her brothers, and I have sat and watched movies with her before, "Sisterhood of the travelling pants", "Lizzy Mc Guire", etc... But it has been a while, I owe it to her.

Anyone have any ideas on what I could pick up? Preferably something that isnt a cartoon.

    Thanks!!!
