  • Why does my body feel like crap when I don't exercise?

I noticed I wake up with my body hurting the next morning whenever I skip exercise for one day (I usually run every day).

  • Question about research papers?

If I am writing a research paper, is it necessary to remain as neutral on the topic as possible?

For example, if I was to write a paper on capital punishment, am I allowed to show a bias (supported with facts of course) or do I just stick to giving unbiased facts?

  • Opinions on DUI penalties?

I was thinking that I wouldn't mind it at all if the penalties for DUI's were A LOT harsher- even if it meant taking away a person's license for good. I really do not want to be sharing the road with these people.

However, it seems that a lot of people continue to drink and drive even if they have gotten caught before (repeat offenders) and there are tons of people that will continue to drive even though they have suspended/revoked licenses.

What does everyone think about this?

  • Will play-doh start to crack after I let it harden?

I wanted to use play-doh for an art project so I'd have to let it harden. I haven't played with play-doh since I was a kid so I can't remember if it cracks or not. I'd be making things like animals and caves.

Will it crack or should I just use something else like clay?

  • Has anyone ever played with "Moon Sand?"?

What did you think of it? Easy to use?

I'm thinking of using it for my art project (since you can reuse it afterwards) but the only problem is the kits at the store only come with 2 colors each, and I need a lot of different colors.

Or should I just use play-doh which has lots of colors but can't be reused?

  • Are there any (credible) sites where I can find statistics on car accidents?

I am looking for nationwide statistics, or if that's not possible, the state of California.

Stuff such as how many accidents we had last year, and the most common causes of car accidents. I know the causes are obvious, but I'm looking for a site that has percentages.

  • Can you recommend some good books (details inside)?

I'm looking for these kinds of books....

Classics like To Kill a Mockingbird and The Great Gatsby

Books with dark themes like 1984 and Lord of the Flies

...which is basically all the books you read in high school. Are there any good ones I should read?

  • Can I get your opinions on racial stereotyping?

Here are some questions (please be as truthful as possible. I'm not going to judge you so there's no need to try to sound politically correct):

Is your closest circle of friends racially diverse (3 or more different races)? If so, does the group joke about race?

Do you get offended by stereotypes made about your race?

Do you ever stereotype, whether jokingly or seriously? If so, is it about your own race or others or both?

What do you think about shows that poke fun at stereotypes (Mind of Mencia, Chapelle's Show, many stand up comedians, etc)?

Is it okay to joke about stereotypes if you KNOW that it does not necessarily apply to an entire group?

Lastly, do you believe people that say they never stereotype? Is it possible to go through life without having judged anyone?

Please feel free to add any other comments. And thanks to everyone that takes the time to answer this.

  • Is it necessary to buy a string winder for my guitar?

I realize it's relatively cheap anyways but I'm changing my strings for the first time. Do I need to wait to buy one first or is it okay to change my strings now?

  • Have you ever spoken up against something everyone around you believed in?

Anyone? And if so, would you mind sharing about it a little?

Sometimes it's hard to share your belief when everyone else around you believes in the opposite. Were you scared to do so at first? How did everyone react?

  • Are there any TV shows worth watching these days? (I'm very picky, just to warn you)?

Just to give you an idea of my tastes....

    1) I despise any and all reality tv shows.

    2) I like anything educational but with a plot behind it. (CSI, Law and Order, etc) Documentaries aren't my thing.

    3) I enjoy comedies. I prefer subtle and clever humor over anything that's done just for cheap laughs.

    4) Anything original, clever, witty. (Try shows like Monk, Psych, House).

    5) I still enjoy reruns of great shows (Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, etc).

I hope there are still some good shows out there because I'm having trouble finding new things to watch. Any suggestions?

  • Why do some murder cases receive more press coverage than others?

I was watching CNN where they spent an entire hour talking about the JonBenet Ramsey case (they still could be talking about it, but I turned off the TV). That's when I got to wondering why some cases get all this national attention (such as this one, even 10 years later) while other cases only get a little paragraph in the local newspaper?

  • Question about getting bloodwork done?

Can anyone tell me what getting blood drawn is like? (Besides them sticking a needle in your arm and taking blood out, of course). I've never had one done before and the truth is, I am extremely scared of needles. I think it might ease my fear a little if I knew exactly what was going to happen beforehand.

When I get vaccinations, I feel even more anxious if I don't look at the needle going in my arm because I hate not knowing when it's coming.

  • Where can I buy a cowbell?

What kind of stores would I find a cowbell at?

If it is a general store, what section would it be in?

I'm not looking to buy it online so you can forget about places like ebay.

  • Dog owners: How much barking is too much?

Yes, dogs bark. It's one way that they communicate. They can't speak so they bark. Some dogs barely ever bark and some bark 24/7.

I understand all this.....but where do you draw the line?

Do you think it is annoying when dogs bark out of nowhere to get attention or is it CUTE?

My dog barks when he wants to be let outside or wants to come back in, and if I'm late to feed him. He also barks if he hears someone coming towards the house (although he cries wolf a lot, I'm okay with that).

There are some dogs I know that bark at every....single....sign of life. A door opening, a voice on the speakerphone, a car door a block away from the house being shut.

I'll admit I never taught my dog the "quiet" command but do certain dogs need to be taught this?

  • Which is worse: actor-turned-singer or singer-turned-actor?

I'd like to first say that there ARE actors out there that really do dominate both fields....and all the more power to them, but the majority today are not that great.

    Here's how I see it...

Singers-turned-actors: most of their movies turn out to be flops although once in a while people go crazy over it (ahem, Eminem and 8 Mile Road?). their acting is all right but I think it is the plot behind the movie that makes them or breaks them

Actors-turned-singers: a lot of mediocrity. As long as they are not completely awful and off-key they will be able to put out an album but other than that, they are really not that special

I AM AWARE THAT THERE ARE MANY EXCEPTIONS

  • Certain breeds more stubborn at potty training?

I have heard that there are certain breeds that can be very stubborn about this....dachsunds for one thing. Does anyone know anything about this? And if so, what other breeds are like this and why?

That being said, I know someone with a dachsund that is around 5 years old, still not very well potty trained. She pees in the house even though she is crate trained (although if she is still going in the house, I don't know if you can exactly say she's crate trained...) and even though she is let out every 2-3 hours. We know that It's not a health-bladder issue so what is the problem?
