  • How to get my cat to go in a dirty litter box and not on my carpet?

My cat is so finicky about her box, and once it's been pooped on a few times she'll stop going in it and use the carpet next to the box. Even when I scoop it clean she won't use it half the time, yet she'll continue peeing in the box. I don't want to change my litter once she's gone in it, so what else can I do? I thought about getting a second box next to it, but afraid she'll just do the same thing. Anyone had this problem and found a solution?

  • What's with sucking on limes with alcohol?

I know they're "chasers" and you suck on one after you take a shot or whatever, but why? Why limes? What does the lime juice do to the alcohol or is it just to wash out the taste?

  • Where to get a real Guinness in the US?

I love Guinness, and I know they alter the formulation to suit each market's tastes. I've tried it in canned, which I hate, on tap which isn't bad, and in a bottle which tasted the best. Since I have no plans to travel to Europe any time soon, what's a good comparison to the real thing if not the actual one? Where can I really taste a GOOD Guinness?

  • Will white mold on landscape timber ruin my crops?

I have a small vegetable raised bed made out of landscape timbers, and when I tilled the soil I noticed white mold (or some other fungus) has grown on the wood. Will that affect my crops this year? What causes it to grow?

  • Does the gay community get offended at gay jokes?

For example how people will say jokingly, "That's so gay!" or tease their friends saying, "What are you, gay?", etc. I find it offensive even though I know they aren't homophobic and are using "gay" as an adjective. Just curious what the gay community actually thinks?

  • How long does a Benz last?

I have a 2002 C240 and it's already on 125k miles, I was hoping to have the car last me 10 years since that's been the track record for other Benzes in my family but don't think the engine will survive that long. I'd like to know what the average age/mileage lifespan of these cars are with good maintenance?

  • Is it bad to eat egg whites daily?

I have a LOT of eggs, and I already separate out the yolks and use only one or two when I cook anything. But how bad is it to eat eggs or egg whites almost daily? It's a good source of protein but can it also be harmful? I need to go through these eggs before they go bad.

  • Do I have to take my Benz to a dealership instead of the local shop?

For things like oil changes, brake service, flushes, etc. I know that I should at least buy brand-specific parts but how important is it to have it done at the dealership? Are local shops not trained to handle luxury-imports?

  • Are atheists more condemned than homosexuals in Christian America?

I find there are more "in the closet" atheists than homosexuals, in fear of the condemnation from their family and peers. There has never been any near-accurate statistics on the percentage of atheists in the US. With all of the heated arguments, will the narrow-minded, prejudiced Christians be more readily acceptable towards one before the other? (excluding the actual sane Christian populus)

  • How do you properly use a hand knife-sharpener?

The kind that looks like a long wand/rod with a handle that comes with cutlery sets. It has ridges that run vertically along the rod and I'm not sure which direction I should sharpen my blade against. I've use it to run down the blade perpendicularly but with no results.

  • Is my best friend wrong to tell me she doesn't like my husband?

My best friend (and was the maid of honor) tells me that she dislikes my husband so much that she'd rather not hang out with him anymore. At first I didn't care, but now I am upset that she could be so selfish and hurtful and not just keep it to herself. It's not like we hang out that often at all either. Now I am doubting our long friendship. Am I being unreasonable for holding a grudge and not wanting to talk to her? I can't believe this HS drama is happening to grown adults.

  • What is the biology behind skin shriveling when soaked in water?

I know it has to do with the cells being hydrophobic/phillic but what exactly causes shriveling? Does the water temperature affect the rate of shriveling? The question came to me as I was doing the dishes last night, as I noticed I seem to shrivel faster in hotter water.

  • Do you think social decline is a result of poor parenting?

I blame it all on the way parents are raising their children, especially the baby boomers and their passive discipline. Do you also think kids these days are going to parent their children much differently because they see the faults of their generation? Is it a vicious cycle?

  • Need more info on the creature Qurin?

I am looking for more info on an ancient Chinese mythical creature called a "qurin". It looks like a lion/dog with a dragon's head. I did an online search and found only one picture but no info. I want to know more about it cuz I think that's why my necklace charm is, and only found the name recently by playing Emperor:ROTMK game.
