Older and Wiser
I am 30 years old, married, with two little girls. I live in a lower income bracket. I served eight years in the US Marines 99-07 with an honorable discharge. When I started on here, I chose my name due to answering teeny bopper questions. I now stick primarily to the politics section at least until the end of this election. I am an Obama supporter and I do not hide my Q and A like the cowards do. I am also a strong advocate of healthy debate, so I do add additional details to my questions in response to the answers. Furthermore, I will acknowledge someone with an opposing view if the view is well thought out and debatable. In my experience on here, unfortunately, that is rarely the case.
What legislation (signed or unsigned) in this administration is actually working?
This should be interesting
2 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhy do many think Palin is a good pick for the GOP in 2012?
I asked a question a little while ago, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Aggmq...
and Palin kept showing up on the roster. I don't understand. She has resigned from her last two political positions and has a lot of controversy brewing on her already. Why is she a good pick?
35 AnswersElections1 decade agoRepubs: Who are your top three picks for 2012 to run against Obama?
Best answer will go to the most thought out answers. It might help to give reasons why you pick these people and news links would be extremely helpful. This question is for anyone NOT planning on voting Obama in 2012, not just Republicans.
21 AnswersElections1 decade agoWho truly tries to get bi-partisan news when forming political opinions?
After answering, please put your political affiliation in the source box.
For knowledge purposes, I am a left leaning Independent

Same question for Liberals, If Cons ceased to exist, how would you decide who to vote for?
8 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs there any evidence that convicted felons will recommit after 3 years of being clean?
Every recidivism study I've seen only deals with the first three years after an offenders release. Are there any studies that take it further or is the law just biased against a felon even if it's been twenty years ago?
Law & Ethics1 decade agoDid you vote a split ticket during the election?
If not, did you just hit the button for your party or did you actually take the time to select each office name by name?
14 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy do Christians only cite Bible verses for the bases of their arguments?
Especially an Atheist or Agnostic argument. Don't Christians realize that the Bible has no more relevance of fact to them than The Hobbit?
36 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat was the name of the person you voted for your state legislature?
This is just a little test to see who the real Independents are and who follow the bandwagons of their parties.
5 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf you could compromise with the other side on politics, how would you do it?
The partisanship in America has got to stop and we need to find some common ground. We all have our idea of which candidate has the ability to do this, but the other side doesn't agree.
I am looking into becoming a politician within my local community and I want to represent all people; however, this seems virtually impossible. What should I stand for without being too partisan?
12 AnswersCivic Participation1 decade agoIf McCain is sooo experienced, then why did he say he doesn't know much about economics.?
Wouldn't you think that he would have learned something in twenty years in the senate?
Why doesn't he know the difference in Sunnis and Shiites?
His "experience" isn't very comforting to me, how about you?
23 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDo Mexicans have just as much right to the Western US as we do?
We stole this land from Mexico in the Mexican American war (not sure, but I think this is also the war of 1812) How dare we call them illegal immigrants when it was their land before ours? That's like calling Native Americans illegal immigrants.
15 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoWhy do opponents of Obama care if he has a Muslim background?
This question is fueled by an earlier question of mine that received a consolidated general opinion. Please read my earlier question and the answers before responding.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjbS3...
P.S. This is asking, not telling for those who don't know the difference.
8 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow many of you Obama opponents are college educated?
If so, did you receive any federal financial aid? Aren't you the same opponents against any sort of socialized programs? Isn't financial aid for school a good example of a socialized program?
Please explain in detail.
9 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoAre all Muslims bad?
If not, what would you say is the percentage of radical ones?
Please, I'M ASKING, not telling you to refrain from referring to Obama (good or bad) in your posts. I have placed this in the politics section because it's you who I want to hear the answers from.
38 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow many Obama opponents on here make over $200,000?
What do you do that gives you that much money if you do? If you can't answer that, then it's going to be hard to believe.
My point is that the people who say he's going to raise taxes most likely don't make this much and WILL NOT be affected!
14 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWithout naming names of any candidate or politician, what would your ideal candidate stand for?
I know some of you can't control yourselves because you have no discipline, but I'll ask you not to name names OR imply anyone. Don't answer things like, "Whatever (name) doesn't stand for"
Thank you for your cooperation
18 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow ridiculous does this statement sound to you?
Senator Andre Carson (D-IN) claims to be a Muslim, but I think he's a Christian pretending to be a Muslim because he has a Christian name and his childhood was in America where he went to a school that taught about Christianity.
Maybe Obama opponents can see how ridiculous this sounds and quit the religious smearing.
13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy do people think the rich are hardworking Americans?
Why do people think that the more money a person makes, the harder they work? Nothing could be further from the truth! The rich are the laziest people in this country and make the most money off of you. The hardest working people in this country are the working class and the average middle class that make under $75,000 a year. Agree or disagree and why?
