  • When do you put your dog to sleep? need some help here.?

I am going to give you the facts because my husband & I disagree & I wont say who is for it and who is against it. I have a 17.5 yr old Westie who has lost his eyesight and hearing and balance in the past year and a half. He still has a great appetite and doesn't appear to be in pain but sometimes has trouble standing up when he has been asleep. He paces constantly and walks into walls sometimes but every day he paces a good part of the day & sleeps a good part of it too. He can still run occasionally but he is very skittish when you go to pet him or touch him. He had a bought of vestibular disease last August but responded well to medication/steroids & hasn't had any symptom since (it resembled a seizure.) He frequently urinates & deficates on our kitchen floor (daily) when he doesn't get to the door in time. His pacing is part of that problem. He only is able to let us know it is "go time" by getting up and heading to the door- but the pacing mimicks it so we never know- What to do??

  • What is a normal iron count or percentage for your blood?

I tried to donate blood yesterday and they refused me after performing two tests. She said my iron count was very low. They accept 38 (%?) and higher and mine was 30. She said "you are very low honey" Now I am concerned. I know what foods are rich in iron and I eat them. I also saw on another question on here about iron that drinking tea could block iron absorption. What should my level be and does anyone have experience with this? I am not tired all the time...sometimes I am but not consistently or wher it is a problem. I might take one nap a week during the day I'm off from work. I'm not vegetarian and I eat a variety of foods, although I only red meats maybe 2 times a week. Any suggestions? I will call my doctor this week but I appreciate anyone's personal experience with this.

  • What is the best glue to adhere wood to granite?

I have a new countertop that is maufactured granite and now the dishwasher brackets can not be screwed into the underneath of the counter. My husband took a piece of wood and adhered it with liquid nails (for stone) and then screwed the brackets into the wood. Now today while unloading it the wood broke free from the counter, so the liquid nails only lasted a few weeks. Do any of you contracters or handymen know what will last and keep the wood attached to the granite?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I dont want to keep spending money by trying different glues if someone can give me a good answer.

  • Have any of you had your widow's peak removed by laser? If so do you like the results?

I'm thinking about having it done, but even though I don't like it, I think I might miss it the old peak when it is gone.

  • Is it normal to lose your voice or have a raspy voice for two weeks?

It started with a cold and got raspy- then a few days later I couldn't be heard but it gradually came back, except that I never got my voice back completely --it is still raspy and I dont normally have a raspy voice. Two weeks without my normal voice isn't that odd? Any doctors out there?

  • does anyone think it is absolutely ridiculous to spend 25,000.00?

on a wrist watch. I don't care how rich you are. I was looking at my new TIME issue on fashion and saw some ridulously priced fashion peices in it. Even if I was Bill Gates' wife I would balk at that price and know that I could buy one for $300.00 or even $60.00 and give what I didn't spend on the $25,000.00 watch to someone or some group that really could use it. I can not believe that some people really pay for these items that are just material possessions- they cant take with them when they leave this earth. What do you think about things like $1,500.00 handbags, $800.00 shoes- seriously. I'd rather have just necessities and know that I could help someone who can't afford 3 meals a day. A pair of jeans from Target can look just as good onyou as a pair that some designer form NY is selling for $2000.00 with a name on it.

  • Did you see John Mark Karr's entry at urbandictionary.com?

Did you see John Mark Karr's entry in www.urbandictionary.com?

I seriously made up a word using Karr in it and submitted it to www.urbandictionary.com. When I checked to see if anyone already submitted a similar word I found the work "Karr" and it was submitted by someone named Mark on Dec 1, 2003. He defined Karr as "someone who F ucks lobsters- a child molester" check it out for yourself on the website.

The word I submitted was "Karrmel toe"- the look you achieve when a man pulls his pants up to his chest.

Nonetheless, after looking this up do you think John Mark Karr actually could have submitted this definition about himself back in 2003? I called and left a message on the Boulder media hotline but not sure if they got my message. Maybe a teeny tiny piece of evidence in this case.

  • If you were told you have lose one of you senses and had a choice, which one?

Which one would you choose to lose. If you were told you had to lose one.

I think would pick smell because I cant imagine not hearing music or seeing the world around me, or not being able to touch those I love. I saw a blind woman in my store the other day and thought how sad it must be not to see.

Just curious what the consensus would be.

  • How can I get motivated to paint my bedroom walls?

I have put this off for a year now. I wont have any problem picking a color. I just dont feel like moving furniture, going to work every other day while I am doing it, spackling nail holes, taping , etc... I feel like I am being lazy but there are so many other fun things to do that I put it off. But when I see a pretty comforter or bedspread I want to buy it and work the color around it. Help motivate me.....
