Summary:

My husband and I had a miscarriage at 8wks (the baby had stopped growing at 6; hormones measured a 5 wk pregnancy) and on February 10th, 4 days after finding out the baby was lost, we had a D&C. I bled for about 5 days including brown spotting and felt normal for 2 1/2 wks after the procedure.

The doc cleared us to try to conceive again right away. We're 23, good jobs, healthy, etc. It was our first pregnancy.

I took a pregnancy test the day of the 2 wk followup and it was negative. I was taking tests to know when the hcg was out of my system.

Now, I'm taking the same tests and they're coming back positive.

Last week I took a First Response Gold and it was a "No." Now, a week later, it's a "Yes." If this was residual hormones from the D&C wouldn't it NOT be showing positive? A No to a Yes would mean they were going up...right?

I also tested with Clearblue Digital and Clearblue regular---all positive. This was after negatives.

I went to the dr today and got a blood test and finding out the results tomorrow.

What do you think the chances are of this being a new pregnancy? I'm nervous to say the least..we want to be parents so badly and feel it's "our calling" if you will; any advice would be appreciated!!

We had a missed miscarriage on 2/6, and a D&C 2/10. So over a month now. I have been taking pregnancy tests since the D&C so I'd know when hormones were gone; got faint positives on Target brands, Answer, etc, until they were gone or nearly gone exactly 2 weeks after the D&C. Now, starting since 4 weeks after, I've been getting digital tests with "Pregnant" (Clearblue Early Digital), both at night and in the morning on different days. Could this be a new pregnancy? We got the go ahead to try to conceive again immediately (we lost the baby at 8 wks; stopped growing weeks before that). What are the chances this is a new pregnancy after getting negatives tests?

We're 23 and 22, married, have great jobs, and we're ready for a family...I'd love to head advice or opinions. Thank you!!!

I had a missed miscarriage at 7 wks (baby stopped growing at 6) on 2/7 of last month and had a d&c on 2/10. The dr cleared us to ttc again asap; no need to wait (it was our 1st pregnancy).

That being said, I've taken tests so I'd known when hcg was out of my system. Nearly 3 wks ago I had a negative (barely there at all; almost gone) so I figured I was almost negative or dropping to zero.

Now, I'm having issues...

I took a digital test this morning (Clearblue Digital) and it said "Positive." Then tonight I took an internet test cheapie (red dye) and nothing was there at all. Granted, these cheapies have hardly ever shown anything when others have, so I don't know if they're trustworthy.

My question is, which should I trust? FMU with the Clearblue digital, or the test I took tonight that was negative? I plan on testing again in the morning and I'm praying this sticks. My husband and I are ttc and since getting the go-ahead we're praying for good news. Wondering what you ladies had to say. Thanks!!

...to get pregnant after a miscarriage?

The baby stopped growing at 6 wks, and had been that way for 2 wks before we found out (8 wks). My HCG had already started to drop, and 4 days after finding out, on 2/10, we had a D&C. Since this was our first pregnancy, the dr cleared us to ttc again when the bleeding stopped. That being said, we have been since 8 days passed the d&c. 2 wk followup showed I had healed, no retained tissue, etc.

That being said, I've been taking preg. tests to measure when hcg has left my system so i'd know with another positive it'd be a new pregnancy. A wk after the D&C, BFPs still. Last week however, 2 wks passed D&C, negatives (digital tests mind you).

Well this week I'm taking my routine test, and it comes up positive on two digital tests. We've had sex a LOT since we were cleared to...but would it be too soon for a pregnancy test, even early response, to pick this up? We only start having unprotected sex 2 1/2 wks ago; is it possible?

I don't know what to think. We are 23, healthy, have jobs, etc, and our first pregnancy/m/c was a shock to us both. Is it possible after 3 wks to get a positive pregnancy test? =/ I'm not investing too much in it...just don't want to be disappointed again. =/ Thanks for your help.

Got mine removed 6 days ago and just have this awful nasal drip in the back of my throat. Wondering if it was common?

I just got packing taken out that was helping one of my sockets heal, but I've had this strange taste in my mouth. I've rinsed off and on all day with salt water but I don't want to overdo it and dislodge anything. I don't think I have dry socket because there isn't any pain whatsoever and I heard that was supposed to be a giant indicator. Is this normal and when will it go away? Thanks

I had gauze placed in my bottom left socket after having all 4 teeth extracted. That being said, yesterday, day 3, he placed a numbing agent in my bottom left socket and told me to keep it in there over the weekend, if it fell out poke it back in, or take it out; if I was in pain the on-call dentist would replace it. Well that being said, I just ate dinner (soft food) and the gauze came out some. I haven't felt pain and my other three have almost healed over. My question is, would I hinder the healing process by leaving it there a day, or would taking it out hurt at this point? Like I said I haven't felt pain but I don't want to do something stupid either if it'd undo everything and all the directions I've adhered to. Thanks for your help!!

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed Tuesday (Nov 30th) and the bottom left hole was packed yesterday, Friday, with a numbing agent and I was told to come back Monday to get it switched out if I was in pain. Well the numbing agent has definitely helped and I've been VERY good about no straws, no hot foods, no sucking, etc, and my diet's been solely soft foods. My question is, a 23 yr old in good health, would the packing prevent healing at all and what should I expect in the next week? I'm getting married Dec 18th and needless to say, I'd like to be able to enjoy my wedding and honeymoon without any hitches! Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!!!!

I am getting married and have 7 bridesmaids, but they all have expressed that they probably won't wear their dresses after the wedding. I was thinking it might be best to find a place that rents them. Is there a place in the DFW area that rents out bridesmaid dresses??

I live in/around Dallas and my fiance and I are in an apartment but will only be here for 6 months to a year. Is there any contract between $15-$30 a month that we could use? I know DIRECTV and Dish both require 24 month commitments (is that accurate?) and Time Warner cable is $49 a month. My fiance and I had unprotected sex on the second to last day of my period (day 6). We used protection twice before that, then we slipped up and didn't use protection this past time. However, 30 hours later I went to the pharmacy and purchased Plan B to ease my mind a little. My cycles are always irregular (anywhere from 29 days to 34 days) and therefore I wasn't sure when I could test for a pregnancy and when it would be accurate. I don't want to stress because I know that could affect your period as well (as it has before) but I'm still anxious to find out. When is the earliest I could take a pregnancy test and have it be accurate, and what do you suppose my chances are at this point of there being a pregnancy? I'm pretty informed on these things but I like having multiple opinions; thanks in advance!

I have a 9 1/2 hour layover in Newark, New Jersey in the next couple of weeks and during that layover I'm leaving the airport to meet a friend. The connecting flight I have is an international flight to Rome, Italy. What will I have to do as far as security/customs go? How long do you think I should allow myself when getting back to the airport? I've never had such a long layover with an international flight so I've never had to know these things. I am traveling from Newark, New Jersey to Rome, Italy in the next few weeks and I was wondering if the rules with the quart-sized bags are only for carry-on baggage or checked baggage as well? I have a lot of things and I'm unsure they'll all fit in those baggies and I was under the impression that the quart-sized bags were only supposed to be used when carrying toiletries in carry-ons? Is this true or do I need to use certain sized containers/baggies even with my checked-in baggage? I don't need anything being seized, lol Thank you ahead of time!

My fiance and I are going on a vacation in 5 weeks and I'm looking to go on the pill at the end of this week. I have an appointment to go to a Planned Parenthood clinic and I am looking to get whatever they offer and recommend. Is about 5 wks an adequate amount of time for it to go into effect and if not, what would you recommend? We want to be protected from pregnancy until after we get married and would like to be prepared. Thank you for any help you have.

My boyfriend and I recently became engaged and we are not ready to start a family so we are looking into ways to prevent pregnancy. I am already scheduled to get on the pill, but I was wondering if I was already on that, if using a vaginal insert of another kind such as a female suppository, etc, would be okay to use as well or would cause any side effects. I was wondering how much it costs for birth control pills if you dont to go the route without using your insurance? Has anyone from Texas done this and how much did it cost? I have a 9 1/2 hr layover in Newark, New Jersey before connecting and going to Rome. I've never flown internationally nor had a layover so long, so I was wondering what I should do about my baggage. With domestic flights and shorter layovers obviously your baggage is taken care of for you---but what should I do? I am likely going to meet up with a couple of friends and leave the airport...so should I take my baggage with me? I'd have to haul it around and pay to have it rechecked, so if I could leave it at the airport I would. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I am looking to travel to Rome this spring (I live in Texas) and was wondering if anyone knew approximately how long it would take to get a passport processed and received and if I started the process now, if I could get it in time. I heard about horror stories a couple of years ago and was wondering if that changed. Thank you!
