After surgery, who should bring me home? My husband thinks he should. He is easily out of breath.?
He is not well. He hardly ever drives at all anymore. Plus if its after noon, he will have had alcohol. I wish I could drive myself home, but its not allowed. He is getting insulted that I am thinking of accepting help from friends instead of him.
8 AnswersMarriage & Divorce8 years agoHow can I turn what is on a tape I made onto a CD?
My local Staples does not have that service. I saw an ad that says they will transfer it onto a DVD, but I want a CD. Once I paid a young man to make the long drive to my place and he made a tape into a CD for me. That was in about 2001. He also used a machine to clean up the static some. I don't think he would still be around. Is it a commonly available service somewhere now? I paid him about $100, and he spent several hours on it.
1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoDuring CPR, isn't mouth to mouth still valuable? Why not give it if it could send oxygen to the brain?
During a 911 call for an ambulance, advice to stop mouth to mouth during CPR was given, following a heart attack. One of the causes of death was "no oxygen to the brain." Would mouth to mouth have saved her? They put in some stents, but took her off life support the day after she collapsed. Isn't it wrong to tell someone to stop mouth to mouth during CPR?

When they were growing up, I made sure that they wrote thank you notes for gifts from grandparents, etc.
12 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoIs it possible for the carotid arteries of my 77 year old husband to clear up from 100% bblockage on one side?
The other side was 50% blocked. Every time we had it rechecked over 4 years we were told it was slowly getting worse. Now they just told him that it's 30 to 50% on the left and 40 to 60% on the right. He had no surgeries. He did stop smoking 4 years ago. Do we have a miracle or a mistake??
4 AnswersOther - Diseases1 decade agoNiacin pin prickles. Bad? Worth it?
I was taking 1500 mg of Slo-Niacin a day on the advice of my nurse practitioner for cholesterol. Due to a rash, I reduced ithe time-released niacin to 1000 mg. After a month of that dosage, I stopped it, due to rash and skin tingling like pin pricks. I can't take Lipitor or Lescol XL due to extreme effects, like a bad case of flu & muscle achiness & dizziness, etc. I take fish oil capsules daily, and I have 1/4 cup flax seeds, which I grind and put into water with Crystal Light. I have cut out margarine and butter for the most part. I exercise pretty regularly. But I still have bad cholesterol numbers. I was hoping that niacin would help. But I am now off niacin completely. Is it bad for me, like the cholesterol RX's were?

5 AnswersInvesting1 decade agoColonoscopy: Who has had one? Are you glad you did? Does anyone regret having one?
I am 61 and have been referred by my nurse practitioner to have a colonoscopy. My husband had one and says he doesn't want another.
I had an episode of bowel incontinence yesterday, my 2nd or 3rd ever, so there's a worry about colon cancer. But I have no health insurance. I'm reluctant, to say the least. Is it worthwhile?
11 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoI have run out of my blood pressure meds which I have taken for several years. How serious would it be to not
I don't have a pill for tonight and for tomorrow morning, and from then on. I'm not feeling too well, so I don't want to drive the 45 minute drive to go to town and pick it up. Should I take it real easy, get extra sleep, do what to compensate? What if I just quit?
15 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoBloodshot eyes after sex: dangerous?
My husband is 75, has had circulation problems for years. I noticed a blood spot in his eye after sex, like maybe a burst blood vessel. Should we discontinue sex until he sees a dr? He probably won't want to. He'll just ignore it. Should I call his dr? I hate to cause a scene or embarrass him. Is this a serious health problem? I've seen it happen more than once.
4 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoIf your blood pressure is OK for the top number, but too high for the bottom number (124/90), ?should you do?
I have been taking meds for several years. The blood pressure has gotten better, but the diastolic (lower) number hasn't improved enough. Is the problem worth correcting with a higher dosage of meds?
10 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoMy son with schizophrenia is back in the hospital. What can I do for him?
We are miles apart. His dad took him. He wants to come live with me and my husband, but it's a strain on us. He is unhappy where he is. His meds aren't working. His dad and his brother will be very upset with me if I encourage him to do anything other than stick it out where he is. My husband doesn't want him living with us anymore. He's 33 and was diagnosed at about 22.
5 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoDoes Wobenzyme cause any bad reactions when you first take it? I had a very good morning, until 4 hours after
I felt like I was going to throw up, like I was achey, and like I was cramping. I had taken 3 Wobenzyme pills an hour before eating anything. A couple of years ago I took it, but I can't remember if there was any adverse reaction. I'm thinking I might have heard of needing to start it gradually. Any others with similar results?

I live in an area where they are, plus I am going to Alaska where there are tons of huge ones. They make me itch like crazy!
24 AnswersOther - Health2 decades agoShould a person with scizophrenia live in a board and care situation or with family?
This person is sometimes suicidal. There are times when the family members are traveling and he can't go along. But he seems to need a lot of solitude which I'm not sure he could have in a board and care with a roommate. Also, he can't stand having the tv on, must get away from it.
