I have found a good original stock that I am in the process os refiishing. My question is do I need anything other than just the wood stock? like barrel bands?

  • .45 ACp reloading question, brass jacketing?

I have just started reloading .45 ACP rounds and have been using semi-wadcutter lead bullets which work fine but as most of you know are very dirty, I have looked into copper jacketed bullets but buying the copper gets expensive really quick, So i thought of melting down a bunch of the spent cases from my .22LR's and dipping the lead bullets in the molten brass, would this be a good choice for jacketing? The bullets are fired through pistols and this is primarily range ammo would this work? just an idea I have been bouncing around in my head

  • need some help advice on surplus guns.?

I am wanting a truck gun, for those of you that aren't familar with that term its a cheap gun to keep behind the seat of my pickup truck that I can leave in there and not worry, if it gets alittle rusty oh well just slap some rebluing on, if I drop it oh well...a rifle that will more or less be a tool for taking care of coyotes or putting a road hit deer out of its misery etc. I was thinking about buying a surplus mosin-nagant and shortening the barrel and stock to 18 or 20 inches they can be had for less than 100 dollars and are chambered in the 7.62x54 which is cheap and very effective against coyotes and deer sized animals, another possibilty I have looked into is finding a british lee-enfield jungle carbine they are chambered in .303 which is also a very good all around game cartridge they tend to cost a bit more, adive on these please?

  • Really needing some opinions on 1911's?

About 3 weeks ago I decided to stop drooling and buy a 1911 and after countless hours of research and reading reviews I have narrowed it down to 2 weapons. I budgeted $800.00 for everything (the gun, shipping, transfer fee's etc) so my two choices are a Kimber Custom II that I can get for $770.00 and I can have it by Monday, or a Ruger SR1911 that I can get for $800.00 BUT it is on backorder and could be up to 6 months untill I get it, I have read reviews for both guns and all have been positive and both are Amercian made guns from companies with a great reputations as fine gun makers, I truly am stuck!

  • Anyone got there hands on a Smith & Wesson bodyguard .380?

interested in this little gun as another CCW already have an Ruger SP101 and I love it but sometimes it is a little too heavy, I was thinking on getting a Smith Bodyguard .380 as a small light gun to carrying while weraing light clothing or dress clothing, The looks like it would be the perfect size to keep in my pants pocket or in a holster clipped inside my western boots.

  • Taurus PT99 vs Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm?

Which gin would be more reliable

  • Taurus PT99 problems?

I have decided that I am going to buy a new Taurus PT99 9mm in stainless steel, I think that 17 rounds of 9mm should be enough for any situation and this gun will mostly be for home protection and an occasional open carry situation (I live in Missouri)

My question i do these pistol have any inherent problems? I've owned a couple Taurus' and have had no problems and this one is simply a copy of the Beretta M9 that is used by all branches of our military so it should be pretty reliable right?

  • RIA 1911 vs.Taurus PT99AFS?

I am looking to purchase another centerfire hand gun and am stuck, I have found a RIA 1911 .45ACP for $399 or a fried has a Taurus 9mm PT99AFS that include 10 clips and a thigh holster for $450. I know the 1911 is dead reliable but it is a single-action, single stack, where as the Taurus is a double-action, double stack both are good guys but also 9mm are cheaper to buy and I have all componets to reload 9mm the gun will mostly be used for taget/recreation shooting but would also on occasion be a carry gun and would ride "shotgun" in the center console of my truck

  • double-action .45 ACP 1911?

I am wanting to get a .45 ACP pistol to keep in my truck, I really like the classic lines of the 1911 but do not care for the single-actin firing system, does anyone know if they make a double-action 1911? If so what is the brand/model

  • ways to seal percussion caps on BP guns?

this deer season like the pasy few I will be taking my trusty Navy '51 BP pistol along as a side arm, I always like to seal the cylinder with bore butter over the ball and usually use candle wax over the percussion cap...however I was wondering if there was an easier method to keep moisture off the caps and still be as effective as candle wax?

  • Black Powder vs. Cartridge Conversion?

I have a Pietta 1851 Navy Revolver in .44 caliber, I carry the gun with me as a sidearm during hunting season (both black powder and rifle season) I am debating on buying a metallic cartridge conversion cylinder for the gun which would allow me to shoot .45LC "cowboy loads" it would also make reload and cleaning tons easier, however my question is which packs more of a wallop a losse powder charge of 26 grains behind a lead ball or a .45LC "cowboy load"?

  • Is sex a safe form of stress relief while pregnant?

My girlfriend of two years is pregnant and we have always used sex as a form of stress relief , as she progresses farther along is it safe to continue to use sex as a form of stress relief? Due to her hormones we currently are engaging in it about two to three times a day so we would very much like to use it to relieve stress but will stop if it could harm our child

  • need a woman's opinion on a gift?

In my relationship's trust is really important to me and as a methaphor to describe trust I often use an hourglass, with every grain of sand being more trust, but when a lie is told the glass is flipped over and all the sand runs out....For my girlfriend and mine's 2 year anniversary I bought her a tiny sterling silver hourglass pendant that ACTUALLY works! I am going to ingrave our names on the bottom and put it on a necklace for her, is this a good gift? other people think its corny and stupid
