I'm 18 and go to the Universtiy of Washington, which may only be the 22nd best university in the world according to Newsweek, but according to me it's the bets school in the world! Anyways I was raised Christian. My mom never really decided if she was Catholic or Protestant, so I got both stories. I'm really interested in Sufism, Hinduism and UU-ism. I love languages. I'm really good at Spanish, and I'm also learning Arabic. I also learned some Greek forever ago, and remember only a little.

  • Do you consider Seattle Center to be Downtown?

My sister and I are getting way too deep into this. I think that Downtown stops after Denny, but she begs to differ. What do you think?

  • where can I find a book to learn Persian in Istanbul in English?

I'm in a Persian language class that's taught in Turkish. I would like to find a book in English as a reference in my mother tongue. Does anybody know of any English-language bookstores in Istanbul that might have something like this?

  • I need a movie to write a Marxist criticism on?

So, my latest English paper is to take an "artifact" to write about from a Marxist point of view. In other words we have to talk about how such and such element of it represents and how it has to do with capitalism and the proletariat and I'm kind of at a loss of what to pick. Little Miss Sunshine has some hints of classism in it, but I think there are some better ones out there.

I'm thinking of getting a Wii Fit just for the yoga part. I just like yoga. So what did you think of it? I just want a general opinion, nothing really specific.

P.s. I'm sorry there have been so many q's about WiiFit, but I had to ask about the yoga.

I'm going to go on a student tour to Spain for 20 days and would like to know how much money I should take with me. Breakfast, dinner and transportation are included in the price of the trip. So how much should I bring for souvenirs, lunch and taxis to get around the cities?

Also, what form of money should the money be in? Travelers checks, cash? Would I be able to use an ATM card from an

    American bank in Spain?

Thanks for putting up with the long question.

  • What are some good daytrips from Marbella, Spain during the summer?

Particularly during weekdays. If you could tell me anything else about Marbella, like stuff I shouldn't leave without doing, that would be good too.

  • Is it bad if my nose falls asleep, just like your feet do?

Lately, I've been having the tingling sensation that you have when your feet fall asleep, but in other places on my body, such as: my nose, the back of my head, just my little finger and even the tip of my tongue. Is this something I should be worried about? Should I see a doctor?

By the way, this is a 100% serious question. No joking around.

  • Safeway only gives the cookie samples to little kids now...!?

While shopping at Safeway today, the bakery employee told me I couldn't have a cookie samples because of the corporate decision to limit samples to very young kids. However, I shop there all the time, and buy almost all of my groceries there. So shouldn't I be entitled to a cookie? I told them I would shop elsewhere, that their decision was wrong. Samples in stores SELL THEIR PRODUCTS. Costco, Top Food, Fred Meyer, Albertson's and QFC offer samples in an attempt to lure consumer to buy their products. I strongly feel that Safeway's decision was wrong, and I let them know how I felt. Also, to only give cookie samples to very young children is a risky decision, many kids are not able to remember they have allergies and what they are.

So who do you think it right? Me or Safeway?

  • All Hellenic Polythiests, Asatru followers, a questoin for you?

I have a few questions about your religion, both Asatru and Hellenic Polytheists.

    1. What religion do you follow? Is that what you prefer it be called? (I've heard lots of different names)

    2. How were you led to your religion?

    3. What do you think when people refer to the story of your Gods as myths? Have you ever confronted somebody about it?

    4. Is it true that a lot of people join your religion simply to rebel, rather than for true belief? how do you feel about this, if true?

    5. Do you have a specific name for the building you meet in?

    6. Do you speak any Old Norse/ Ancient Greek?

    7. Do you consider Odin to be the same as Zeus? Are they the same as the God of other religions?

Any other interesting info would be nice.

As for why I'm asking this, I'm interested in other religions, and these two are quite different from the rest due to their being reconstructed.

  • To all Christians, will you try to stop the secularizatoin of Christmans this year?

And by that I mean no Santa stuff, no reindeer, none of that. Christmas is about Jesus, and it should stay that way. Am I right, or am I right?

To all the atheists who are yearning to answer this, give me your imput on the origins of Christmas.Just because it was a Christian holy day that was fused with a pagan one make it non-Christian.

I am a Theosophist, not a Christian, so don't go saying I'm bias.
