From where do you get your self worth?
What criteria do you use to measure your worth as a human being? How do you decide your life has value and meaning?
15 AnswersPhilosophy2 decades agoWhy do so many Protestants worry so much about the nit-noid details of what a person believes?
Isn't it enough that a person believes in the big stuff, like God, Jesus and the Resurrection? Certainly, there are many differences among denominations in the details, but does it really warrant "rebuke"? Wasn't it Jesus who came to simplify the message and teach us that it's what in your heart that matters?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoDo you ever feel tempted to give less than your best answer just to be chosen as best answer...?
Since so many askers are just looking for someone to agree with them and aren't really looking for honest answers.
4 AnswersYahoo Answers2 decades agoWhen a Catholic marries a non-Catholic, why does the non-Catholic have to be baptized...?
If it does not matter if the non-Catholic is a practicing Christian, or even if he/she believes in God for that matter? I mean, a person could be a complete atheist, and they would pass the requirements for Catholic marriage so long as his/her parents baptized him/her. Why?

Or do you think it's so low on the priority scale that it's something that's nice if it happens, but isn't really necessary.
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoIs it unusual to still be producing breast milk/colustrum six months after weening my baby?
Every once in a while, I'll find myself leaking. Not a lot. Just a little. It seems to have the same consistency as it does in the first days after birth. A little colustrum, but also a little milk. What gives?
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby2 decades agoWhat is better/worse? Unrequited love or mutual love that can never be satisfied?
In both situations, the love must never be talked about.
6 AnswersPhilosophy2 decades agoIs there any way the US can switch to a parliamentary system without throwing out the entire Constitution?
So that congress more accurately reflects the American public and there is more incentive to work things out for the good of all rather than winner take all. And so that voters have a real choice and aren't obliged to vote for the "lesser of two evils".

9 AnswersGovernment2 decades agoWould you support a National Coming Out Day for sexual assault survivors?
To raise awareness of how far-reaching this crime is. I wouldn't want to pressure people to come out if they didn't want to, but I know I would love to have an avenue to show people that the survivors are everywhere. And to give survivors like myself an opportunity to share our stories. Do you think this could be done in a positive, supportive way?
4 AnswersOther - Society & Culture2 decades agoSex is selfish, is it not?
I'm not saying that anyone who desires sex is selfish or that I don't enjoy sex, and no, I am not a prude. This is purely philosophical...
I'm getting from the posts on this forum that sex is about as essential to marriage as breathing is to living. Here's what I'm thinking.
Healthy relationships are not 50-50, they are 100-100. Love is characterized by acts of giving, generosity, wanting to do for the other. That is what makes love great.
Sex, on the other hand, is often discussed in terms of wanting it, or needing it. Certainly there are times when sex is an expression of love, but I am not talking about those times. Most people are very clear in stating that sex is a valid expectation in a relationship. As an expectation, it is something that the person is looking to *receive*. At this point, hasn't the person moved away from love toward selfishness? If they are trying to convince their spouse to give in, are they even really concerned with their spouse at that point?
11 AnswersMarriage & Divorce2 decades agoWhat is the masculine experience of love?
I've often heard that women want love and men want sex. I just wonder if men experience love the same way women do. If you are a man, what does love feel like to you? Please be as descriptive as possible.
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce2 decades agoWhy do people think "trying something new" is an appropriate fix for an unsatisfying sex life?
Am I the only one who thinks that an unsatisfying sex life is the direct result of a lack of emotional intimacy? How on earth is trying to turn into bedroom acrobats going to make you more attracted to your PARTNER? Sure, it makes the sex itself more enticing (for a short time), but it completely undermines the relationship by making it about the SEX and not about the PERSON you're with. Why do people like Dr. Phil say that sex is absolutely essential to a working relationship? It is not! INTIMACY is essential, and we develop that intimacy through sexual contact. It just seems we send these struggling couples on a wild goose chase where they have to keep escalating the deviancy to maintain an excitement level to mask the fact that the relationship is completely devoid of intimacy. Am I alone in my thinking?
9 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships2 decades agoSensitive Question: If you've been the victim of a sexual assault, what's the hardest part?
I find that after being raped by a stranger twelve years ago, the hardest part is that I just can't talk about it the way I can talk about the rest of my life. It makes people uncomfortable, and so it becomes a secret I must keep. It feels so isolating. So is it okay if I talk about it here? What do you think? Is it strange for that to be the WORST part?
14 AnswersOther - Society & Culture2 decades agoWhy oh why oh why oh why do people insist Catholics worship saints?
When we explain time and again that we don't? Is it so hard to believe that those who have gone on before us can still see us and can hear us and in fact watch over us? That we are asking for their help just as we would ask a living person for help? I mean, you wouldn't call asking your pastor for help and guidance "worshipping" would you?
And yes, we HONOR them. Just like we honor our parents.
Why on earth is this so hard to understand/believe?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoAm I a good representative for Catholicism?
I've been looking at my activity in Yahoo! Answers and I'm beginning to feel like I've been on a Catholic crusade. For those of you who are familiar with my posts, do you think I represent the faith well, or do you find me blasphemous? (I especially want to hear from you, david_in_milwaukee)
