  • Do tablet pcs read cursive?

I've read numerous reviews for convertible laptops and am seriously considering purchasing one, but I can't seem to find any information on what sort of writing the software recognizes. I frequently switch back and forth between manuscript and cursive while writing, and if the computer wouldn't recognize my cursive (which is actually a good deal neater than my manuscript) that would be a definite downside and I would probably just go with a MacBook Pro, since that would be my choice right after a great convertible.

Any other +s and -s to convertibles (or the MacBook Pro) would be welcome.

  • warm compress?

Okay, so I'm starting to get a sty in my eye and people have been telling me to try using a warm compress....but what would that be? (Yes, I know this sounds dumb, but I really am not sure what they mean.)

  • senior pic makeup?

I'm going to be getting my senior pictures taken in a few days, and I was wondering if anyone had tips for makeup and hair. I'm a brunette with fair skin and brown eyes.

  • Uh-oh, getting a sty?

Well this is bad. It looks like I'm starting to get a sty on the inside corner of my eye, and I'm getting my senior pictures taken in three days. Does anybody know what I should do?

  • Preapplication to Dartmouth...?

I will be applying early decision to Dartmouth College.

Their website suggests that I send in a pre-application as soon as I decide on applying to Dartmouth; however, I cannot find a form or any other mention on the website as to what constitutes a preapplication, and was curious as to whether or not anyone could help me figure out what that was, specifically?

  • prom on the brain, just like everybody else...?

I'm a junior, so it's not like this is my last chance to go to prom, but...I've been thinking about it, and maybe it'd be fun to go. Most of my good friends are going, mostly paired off with other good friends, not like romantic-dates.

This guy I know, let's call him, uh, Brian, is a total sweetheart. Big and funny and a gentleman, and while I don't LIKE him, he's a nice guy and I think it would be fun to go with him. I kind of have the feeling he has a crush on me (recently, @ a friend's b-day, he made a lot of excuses to stay close to me during all of our games, and stuff), but he has a really understated style of flirting, so I'm not really sure if I should ask him. I don't know if we're friends, per se, maybe really good acquaintances.

Would it be appropriate to ask him, or not? I wouldn't do anything fancy, just ask if he'd like to go to prom with me. I don't think he'll work up the courage in time. :)

  • sisterhood of the traveling pants question...?

Okay, so I made a bet (which is something I don't usually do, mind you) that Lena, in the BOOKS, has other siblings. Besides Effie. I believe brothers. I thought I remembered some mention of there being lots of meat or beer or something like that in her kitchen.

    Does anybody know?

  • Does anyone know where I could get Spanish Test answers...?

...from Third Year Prentice Hall Book Test? It's from Capitulo 3, and I believe it's test form B, since it's a retake. One side has questions like for vocab, and the other is fill in the blank (2 sections) where it gives you two options for the verb and then you conjugate it in the appropriate Subjunctive form.

  • 16 and haven't...?

...dated, kissed, been to a dance, or anything.

And I'm perfectly comfortable with that. I haven't met someone whom I would feel like doing any of those things with, and I personally feel it's my decision when I should.

However, my mother and sisters constantly make fun of me, or make derogatory comments towards my sexuality ("PLEASE tell me you're not a LESBIAN"), and I'm tired of it. I feel my situation is perfectly normal, and nothing to be ashamed of.

If I'm comfortable not having much experience with boys, am I a freak, or is that okay?

  • Macaroni Grill...?

...has this amazing Barbecue Chicken Pizza. I was wondering if someone works there, or maybe just eats there a lot, could tell me how to make one, or a similar one. That sauce is fantastic!

  • Slim teenager's mysterious weight gain...?

I have a basic understanding of how my metabolism works. I'm 16, and have lately noticed that, though my eating and exercise habits have stayed the same, I seem to be gaining a bit of weight. I've always been extremely thin for my height, and up until this school year, I was around 95 lbs @ 5'4". I know that gaining a little bit of weight is just part of growing up, but since school started, my weight has fluctuated between 105 and 112, and I feel highly uncomfortable with my appearance right now.

Is it my metabolism is slowing down, maybe? I realize I'm not fat or anything, but does anyone have suggestions? Should I just cut some calories and continue to exercise on a regular basis?

  • embarrassing, but...bacne.?

Oh, you all know what I'm talking about. You get too embarrassed to wear cute tops or dresses, because of all that awful acne on your back/shoulders/chest, whatever. It's a pain in the butt, and I don't know what to do about it. I bathe every day, and have tried the Neutrogena Acne Body Scrub stuff, but it's only helped a little. I'll be wearing a strapless dress in a few days, and, not gonna lie, I'm desperate for a solution. help!

  • Does anybody have good tricks to help falling asleep?

I've struggled with getting to sleep since I was a little kid. Sometimes I can't think because I can't find a comfortably position, or I'm busy thinking, or whatever else.

Does anybody have a good tip or trick to get to sleep more quickly?
