Why am I being limited to answering only a few question a day if I am level 7?
Supposedly, I should be able to answer 160 questions a day but I am receiving a message quota limit message after a few questions. What's up with that?
2 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoMy computer has stopped receiving Internet in Free WiFi locations?
I have a Acer Aspire and, for some strange reason, I cannot access free WiFi anywhere that I go which offers free WiFi. I can get connected but the computer shows "No Internet Connection".
When I am at my house, my office, or my sister's house, I can use there wireless internet after entering the password and once I have connected, it is never a problem but if I try to connect at McDonalds, Starbucks or anywhere else with free WiFi, I can connect to their network but not the internet.
What do I need to do to fix this?
1 AnswerComputer Networking7 years agoWhat are the drawbacks from buying a "gently used" or "like new" hard drive?
I seem to have a corrupt hard drive on my Acer Aspire 5750 computer and I am looking at replacement options.
I saw, on Amazon.com, a couple of used ones listed as "gently used" or "like new" and, being not to tech savvy on computers, I am wondering if it is safe to purchase used hard drives with these conditions. Both sellers on the Amazon Marketplace appear to be reputable.
Thank you for your advice.
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoWhen it comes to eating corn, which one of these two options would you choose?
Option 1) Corn with low levels of glyphosate and formaldehyde? or
Option 2) Corn without any glyphosate and formaldehyde?
Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer. It has been linked to a wide range of health issues including: autism, gastrointestinal issues such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic diarrhea, colitis and Crohn’s disease, obesity, cardiovascular disease, depression, cancer, cachexia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and ALS, among others.
Formaldehyde, in food, is used as a preservative. If this name sounds familiar, you might also know it by it’s slang name – Embalming Fluid.
If you chose Option 1, you just chose GMO corn. http://www.thelibertybeacon.com/category/environme...
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness8 years agoWould you refuse to accept a chance to shoot a commercial if you were opposed to the product?
This question is geared for actors and aspiring actors but is open to anybody. It is pretty straight forward but I will elaborate anyway.
Would you make a commercial for McDonalds or Burger King if you were opposed to the slaughter of cattle?
Would you make a commercial for a perfume company if you knew that they did animal testing and you were opposed to animal testing?
Would you make a commercial for a pharmaceutical (Celebrex, Lipitor…) if you were opposed to the pharmaceutical industry?
Would you make a commercial for Monsanto if you were opposed to Monsanto or GMO?
Consider, also, that your agent is only paid on the work that you do and he/she may not take kindly to you refusing any work despite your beliefs. So how would you handle it if your agent sent you out for a commercial which violates your beliefs?

2 AnswersTheater & Acting8 years agoShould the Yankees benefit financially if A-Rod is banned or suspended by MLB?
According to published reports, If Rodrigues is banned or suspended and misses the 2014 season, the Yankees will be getting Rodriguez's $25 million salary off their 2014 books would effectively reset a Yankees payroll projected to exceed a $189 million luxury tax threshold the club hoped to slip under. And if they're freed from the $86 million owed Rodriguez from 2014 to 2017, this would even free up more money for this big-market team.
This would allow the Yankees to become big players in the Free Agent market and, as I see it, it would give them an unfair advantage as none of the other teams would receive anywhere near the same benefits for their suspended players. What do you think?
6 AnswersBaseball8 years agoAre we moving away from the Democrats and Republicans and moving closer to the Libertarians, the Green Party a?
If you consider that the June 2013 Gallop Poll showed that the American Voters gave Congress a 10% voter approval rating, the lowest rating in history and considering that our current Republican and Democratic Representatives and Senators seem to be more interested in serving the likes of the Koch Brothers, The Oil Industry, The Banking Industry, Monsanto, The NRA, The Insurance Industry and other special interests before they serve WE THE PEOPLE, do you see a growing number of Americans who are tiring of the RepubloCratic monopoly and searching for new alternatives?
BQ: Do you see the House of Representatives and the Senate accomplishing more for the good of the people if there were a significant number of smaller parties seated in congress?
6 AnswersElections8 years agoDo you believe that all the Liberal Bashing/Conservative Bashing/Obama Bashing questions accomplish anything b?
I don’t know about you but I am sickened by all the questions I see here where posters asking “questions” with the sole intent of bashing people based on their political ideology, (and religious ideology, gender preference or any other beliefs but I will stay with political ideology on his post).
I have yet to see any intelligent questions of this ilk and I see them only being divisive and ignorant.
When I see that our current congress received a record low 10% voter approval rating in the June 2012 Gallop Poll, I recognize that part of this is because the Republicans and Democrats have not been able to work with each other to get their work done and I see these stupid questions as a fallout from them.
What do you think about these bashing questions? Do you answer them with intelligence? Do you join the bandwagon? Do you ignore them?
3 AnswersPolitics8 years agoAre you a Sapphire, a Pearl, an Emerald or a Ruby?
I am reading a wonderful book by Dani Johnson called “The First Steps To Wealth: A Revelation to Increase Your Income, Improve Your Relationships and Expand Your Influence. One of the things that she does is describes peoples characteristics in four gems and she says that we have some of each characteristic in each of us to some degree or another. By understanding each group, you can improve your communication with each group by understanding their needs. I will explain the main characteristics of each gem and then ask where you see yourself.
Sapphires: A Sapphire is motivated by fun and likes to socialize. They are the life of the party and they love having parties. They love to be surrounded by people and they dislike firm schedules. They are frequently late to appointments. They are alive and you cannot crush their spirit.
Pearls: A Pearl is motivated by helping people. Pearls love to serve. While all gems want to help people, a Pearl wants to help everything and everyone. A pearl is concerned about the environment and favors natural product. Pearls are very thoughtful and sympathetic, nurturing and patient. A Pearl dislikes confrontation however a Pearl can gracefullly confront issues with people in a way that creates restoration.
Emeralds: An Emerald is someone who is motivated by facts and figures. Everything is Black and White – There is no gray. They are motivated by order, facts and figures. Emeralds are always asking “Why”? Emeralds are always on time and everything is efficient. Emeralds spend a lot of time on research.
Rubys: A Ruby is motivated by challenges. They have to be first in everything. Rubies like to win – so much so that they might not play if they cannot win. Rubies like the best of everything: The best hotels, the finest clothes, the fastest cars… Rubies constantly have to be moving forward. Rubies tend to be outspoken and bold. They are very determined and enterprising. They like to be entrepreneurs.
Based on those descriptions, what is your major gem characteristic? Do you have other strong gem tendencies?
(I am a Pearl with some Emerald as well but I do have a few qualities from Sapphire and Ruby as well).
5 AnswersPsychology8 years agoUS citizens: What hot topics would you like to see the 2014 candidate’s campaign on?
In the coming months, we will be hearing more and more about the 2014 state and federal government candidates for congress, the senate and governorships. Which issues would you like to see them address? Here are some of mine:
• Gun Control: I am fully in favor of the second amendment right to bear arms and I have no problem with people owning hand guns and hunting rifles. I am also in favor of mandatory background checks for ALL gun buyers (even in gun shows and private sales) to help reduce the number of guns being sold to people with mental illness. The 2008 conservative supreme court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home but they also went on to say that like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose. This is why I feel that it is not unreasonable to ban future assault rifle sales.
• Limit SuperPacs, big business and special interest spending: The legislative branch of our government was designed to serve the people, not the Koch Brothers, not Monsanto, not the NRA, not the tobacco industry, not major pharmaceuticals. I feel that our legislature will accomplish more if congress returns to serving the people – not big money, big business and special interests.
Also many states will have people collecting signatures for the 2014 ballot initiatives? What issues would you like to see on your ballots? Here are some of mine:
• Mandatory GMO labeling on all food and skin care products: The bottom line is that there is a lot of independent research showing the potential dangers of GMO. There is also a lot of confusion between GMO crops and Hybrid Crops. GMO has only been approved for 15 years. Here is the difference between GMO and Hybrid http://www.motherearthnews.com/real-food%E2%80%A6
• Donation reforms for initiatives and candidates: In the 2012 elections, Monsanto donated over $8 Million of the $46 Million dollars raised to narrowly defeat Prop. 37. Monsanto is based in St. Louis, MO. and not California. I would like to see reforms which with place a low donation limit or abolish donations from companies headquartered out of state. This would allow the people of that state to be heard over big business.
One other thing that I would love to see on a national level (but it would take a major voice from the majority of citizens) is to allow one or two of the third party candidates (those with the highest votes) to participate in the presidential debates. I believe that more and more Americans are becoming increasingly frustrated by the way our current crop of Democrats and Republicans are unable to get significant work done and many people feel that voting for one party candidate or the other is just a vote for the lesser of two evils. We need reform in congress.
So what are your views. What would you like to see?
PS. I have no problem if you respectfully disagree with me. If you so feel the need to use derogatory language or innuendos, I will discount your opinions as uninformed. It is fine to respectfully disagree and indicate your beliefs. Being rude just makes you look bad.

3 AnswersElections8 years agoWhat do you think of this presidential debate proposal?
Let me start by saying that I am asking this as an attempt to suggest a tweak to our current political elections debates. I realize that we are 2 – 3 years away from the next set of debates but it is on my mind now. It is something that I have been thinking about because I have become increasingly embarrassed by the way the Democrats and Republicans have placed “Special Interest Groups” and Party Line ahead of actually working with each other, compromising and serving the voting American public – clearly the third priority for many of them.
Our current political system is basically comprised of the Democrats and the Republicans. Now I realize that we also have the Green Party, the Libertarians, Independents and others but, when push comes to shove, the elephants and the donkeys have the presidency locked up because of the current requirements of the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD)
The Commission on Presidential Debates was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce debates for the United States presidential and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates. In 2000, they set a 15% bar which meant that any candidate who reach at least 15% of the vote, regardless of the party, was eligible to participate in the presidential debates yet, each time qualified candidates tried to enter the debates, the Republicans and Democrats somehow managed to exclude them. Furthermore, they also seem to be able to control who will moderate the debates, the format of the debates and which questions can and cannot be asked.
I doubt that the Democrats and Republicans would willfully allow for the Citizens of the USA to change the current format if they were asked politely so my proposition is as follows. I propose that the top four parties (based on voting percentage) must be included is all presidential debates. I propose that the moderator must be a member of any party not represented in the debates. I propose that no candidate could have ANY control over the debate questions, locations, or any other controlling factors. They should debate on even terms and let America choose from there.
I suspect that the only way to get this done would be for the masses to make their desires know and force legislation if necessary.
What are your views on this?
3 AnswersElections8 years agoHave you ever been blocked by a user for giving a good answer?
I recently opened a question: Do you like black people?
I gave a non-racial, totally accepting answer to the question and it was not offensive in any way. Moments after answering this question, I received a private email from the poster stating: "Black people are ugly."
When I tired to go back to the question, I found that I had been blocked by this user and I got the grayed message: You cannot view this question at this time.
Has this happened to anybody else? Also, has can blocking a person make it impossible for them to see a question that they have already answered?

I was watching the Jeff Probst talk show on May 8th and one of his guests was a man named Seth Collins. His brother, Aaron, unexpectedly passed away last July at the age of 30 and, after scouring Aaron’s computer for three days, Seth found Aaron’s will.
The final part of the will said, “My life was a party, and my death should be too . Any money that is in my bank account is to be used in the following ways. First of all, pay back my mother and father if they are still alive. Second, give come money to a homeless person, tell them why you are doing it. Third, leave an awesome tip, and I don’t mean 25%, I mean $500 on a pizza for a waiter or waitress.”

1 AnswerPsychology8 years agoHow do you feel about this Nelson Mandela Quote?
Nelson Mandela passed this quote on to a woman and I found it to be very true. (Note: He did not originate this quote - he just shared it with a woman who published it.)
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
I personally agree with it. What about you?

1 AnswerJazz8 years agoDo you think that the American FDA should follow the lead of the EMA (European Medicines Agency?
How many times have you heard about the harmful side effects of prescription medication? How may times have you seen TV Commercials from attorneys asking you to contact them if you, or someone you know, has had an adverse effect from a specific medication?
The truth is that most pharmaceutical companies will only share results of positive studies for their projects and hide any studies which show less than ideal results for the drug. If you want more proof of this, you might want to read the book, Bad Pharma: How drug companies mislead doctors and harm patients by Dr.Ben Goldacre. http://www.amazon.com/Bad-Pharma-companies-patient... reveals all sorts of tricks that they use. You can also Google, Side Effects of Aspertame, Side effects of BPA (this is a something that is found in almost all water bottles you buy at the store, cans of beans and other foods.
The European "FDA" or European Medicines Agency (EMA) is in the process of opening its drug industry's research to independent researchers so they can test company claims and expose product deficiencies. This will bring long sought after transparency to Big Pharma's research and claims made on their behalf. Both the FDA and EMA have had severely tarnished integrity because of scandals such as with Vioxx and Avandia.
Do you think that it is time that the FDA also allow for independent researchers to evaluate all medications so that the truth can be known before the damage is done to us?
SIDE NOTE: I do not know Dr. Goldacre and I do not receive any money or benefits for recommending his book. I just feel that the FDA has pledged their allegiance to the major pharmaceuticals instead of the public well being.

4 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender8 years agoHave you ever heard a song and found a completely different meaning for the lyrics?
When I saw the recent movie, Les Miserables, I fell in love with the new song, Suddenly, which Jean Val Jean sings to Cosette after he takes custody or her. It was written for the movie to show how Jean Val Jean, felt this powerful attachment to Cosette as her new father.
Recently, I have been working on Positive Affirmations and learning to accept and love myself and, as I was reading the lyrics to this song, I realized that this song was very therapeutic for me as an affirmation that I can use for myself – instead of me singing it to Cosette, I am singing it to myself as a positive affirmation.
