Five years ago, my grandparents adopted me for basically no reason and changed my last name to theirs. They were only able to do this because the area we live in was hit by Katrina, and my mom was in another state at the time, so they claimed that they didn't know where she was. I've lived with my grandparents my whole life and there was no legal reason for them to adopt me - they pretty much just wanted to make my mom mad. Because of this, I'm almost positive that my grandmother (my grandfather has passed away now) doesn't have my original birth certificate any more - and even if she does, she's not going to give it to me. For my 18th birthday (in just a few days), I want to change my name back to what it was when I was born, but I think I need legal documentation saying I was born with that last name. How would I go about getting this? I have my SSN and card, but it has my post-adopted name on it.

I was just wondering this with my grandma while we were talking about an old commercial (I don't even remember what it was for) where some guys at a party would reach for some kind of snack on the table, before mini versions of their mom appeared on their shoulder and reminded them that 'they were raised better than that'. At the end of a commercial, though, one guy took the last snack after a howling wolf appeared on his shoulder. I was never raised to consider eating the last of anything rude, in fact I think it would be bad in itself to just let it go to waste! Where did this rule come from?

Friday, I switch from Yaz birth control to Trinessa because my nagging grandmother was scared of the commercials. What are the general side effects of Trinessa? Is there anything in particular to expect since I am switching from a different pill?

So I usually wear stuff like Converses or Skater-type shoes, because they're comfortable and easy to walk in.

However, I'm growing tired of the look those shoes give me and I'd like to get something that looks a bit more.. mature?

I like walking around a lot, so I'd like something that offers some kind of support, or at least can fit gel insoles in them.

I don't like shoes like sperrys or uggs, so don't bother answering if those were what you had in mind.

So far I think I might just get some flats, but I'm not too big on shoe shopping (hence why I'm asking this), so I'm not sure what else is out there.

I usually just wear stuff like skinny jeans and t-shirts, so I'd like just some casual shoes.

I'm 17, so no grandma shoes, please.

I go to high school, a rather poorly funded one at that. Among other things wrong with my school, I feel that a lot of the teachers there aren't qualified for their jobs.

I've never had a single computer teacher know how to use a computer more than whatever their textbook instructs - my current computer teacher (of programming and web design) doesn't know how to do simple things like flip images on window's image and fax viewer.

My English teacher has only ever 'taught' subjects like yearbook and mythology before this year, and he never seems to know what he's talking about. I honestly think he has autism or something. It's hard to explain how he acts other than... autistic, but I don't know a single person (parents included) that thinks otherwise.

My US history teacher has only a handful of students passing her class, and tries to blame it on us. She's also the cheerleader coach and constantly has her cheerleaders coming in an out of class, and she always seems more concerned with cheerleading events than class.

My question is this; is there anything I can do about all of the underqualified or simply terrible teachers? I'm not complaining because 'my teachers suck and they're mean'. I'm actually passing all of these classes, but just barely so thanks to our textbooks (which are seriously like 20 years old) giving more specific instructions than the teachers ever can.

I have one on each eye. On my right eye, it's on the top of my eyelid, right above my eyelashes and sort of in the center of the eyelid. That one has been there.. a few years, but exactly how long, I'm not sure. The one on my left eye is on my bottom eyelid is below my eyelashes and near the corner of my eye by my nose. (Like > is the corner of my eye and it's right below the open part? If that makes sense.) That one's only just started showing up maybe a week ago. They don't hurt or anything, and they aren't pimples because I've tried squeezing the one on my right eye and it doesn't pop. What are they, and should I consult an optometrist or a dermatologist about them?

We have a little rat terrier puppy, about 3 months old, and she's fairly well house trained, but she still goes in only MY room. I think it's just because my other dog sleeps in my room at night and when she takes a nap, and the puppy is trying to cover the other dog's smell or something. She only 'goes' in there when I'm not in there (which means I'm not home), but I can't just close the door because my grandparents come in to get stuff from my room and stuff like that and forget to close it, and I can't get a baby gate because they're expensive, and then there's the issue of my grandparents needing to get in my room. So is there some kind of odorless repellent I can spray at my door or something? At this point I don't care if I have to keep both dogs out of my room, as long as there's no more dog poop and pee on my floor!

I mean I have had quite a bit of unprotected sex, but my boyfriend pulled out every time and it's always worked in the past so I don't think I'm pregnant. I thought I was starting it a little over a week ago (there was some blood but it was just a little spotting but I always get that before my period actually starts) 2 days before undergoing oral surgery, and for a week I was taking a loritab every day for pain since it's what my doctor gave me for the post-op pain, but since the surgery I haven't gotten my period.

Could the anesthesia and/or narcotics have messed with my cycle? Because like I said, I don't think I'm pregnant.

Okay, so I run windows XP. Whenever I try to select a background, the list of chooseable backgrounds isn't clickable, nor can I scroll through it, and there's a small thing at the top of the list that says 'None' and has that red circle with the slash through it. The 'browse' button is also non-clickable, so I can't use my own backgrounds. Can someone please help me fix this?

I want to know what courses in high school you would have to take, what degrees you need to get into college, and what degrees you need to graduate from college. It would be nice if it was to MSU's qualifications - I'd look through the website but it's poorly constructed. I need this information for a project we're doing in gifted - my teacher is clueless himself as to how to get this information and was surprised the website of such a great school is so poorly done. Thank you!

My boyfriend will randomly start bleeding through either his ear of his nose for quite a while (I'm not sure how long). It's been going on for the past 2 weeks, every other day or so. His face will swell up on that side, but you cant tell by looking - it just feels really hard. He doesn't seem too worried about it, but people don't just randomly bleed and swell up for no reason. Is this something serious, and what exactly is the cause of it?

I had some by itself last night and it tasted kinda wierd. I've never drank alcohol before so I was wondering if tonic water is even alcohol? The bottle said it was made with quinine if it matters, though I don't even know what the hell quinine is.

She is a chihuahua, I don't know how old. We're pretty sure she's just chi but a couple people have told me she looks like she could have daschund (sp?) in her. Anyways she really loves playing with me, my cousin, or my 9 year old brother but everyone else seems to scare her. She's afraid of all pet toys, any sudden noises whatsoever, if anything close to her moves or makes a sound while she's eating/drinking she runs away, you get the picture. She's afraid of cats, but she loves other dogs but please don't tell me to get another dog or something, we can't afford it.

Okay well on the first day of my period my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and now I'm scared of pregnancy. I was wondering if you're any more or less fertile on the first day of your period or just normal? And please no one tell me I shouldn't have had unprotected sex, I know that now.

When you get new e-mail and you have the messenger it has that notification, right? Well mine's not doing that now! And normally when you're signed in and go to the yahoo homepage it'll say 'Mail! (1)' or something like that and it doesn't do that either. Can anyone help with this or are there others with the same problem?

I wasn't watching him when he went so I dunno.
