I am an Indiana adoptee living in the wilds of Texas. I fight for the rights of adoptees and their families to have access to the very documents that affect their lives.

  • What is the relinquishment rate in countries who have socialized medicine?

I know that Australia has a low rate of relinquishment. What about Germany, Canada, and the UK? I know that the UK has been forcing the issue of relinquishment. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Why are adoptees subjected to the future reproductive decisions of women in this country?

Everyone hollars about that privacy issue. Why are adoptees held accountable for those decisions? That is alot to dump on adoptee. The reproduction for us is already done.

  • Why does it matter if an adoptee searches? ?

Why is it a reflection of any kind on our adoptive parents? It is a search of self. There should not be a qualifier for an adoptee, natural parent, or adoptive parent if they search for the other members of their family. I do not understand why there is a need to have that.

  • Why are the questions regarding mothers so inflammatory?

Seriously I want to know why. Some of these questions even have the adoptive parents up in arms. Yahoo Answers was sometimes hostile before. Now it is down outright blatantly hostile towards adoptees, natural parents, and even adoptive parents.

  • What is the history of adoption law in Indiana?

This is what I know so far. I need information prior to 1985. I also want to know why they completely sealed the records from everyone at that time.

    1. In 1985 the state of Indiana enacted the most restrictive law concerning adoption confidentiality.

    2. In 1993 the state of Indiana allowed both parties to contact each other through CI laws and registry.

    3. In 1994 the putative father registry was created.

    4. In 2005 they allowed adoptees from 1993 forward access to their OBCs without birthparent consent.

What else happened before these dates.

  • How do you define your job or position in adoption? Are you involved in adoption reform?

I feel that it is my job as an adoptee to make sure adoptive parents and natural parents that adoptees do need their history, their identity and heritage. Whether or not they want is the adoptee's choice but I feel that adoptive and natural parents owe the truth to their children. Describe what you do for adoption reform.

I guess this needs to be addressed too. I am not grateful that I wasn't aborted or dumped. My adoptive mother does not want me to EVER feel that way. Knowing other natural mothers, I am sure that my natural mother doesn't want me to feel that way. I also need to address that I didn't have a "bad" adoption experience until I decided to search and until I understood the heartache and hardships that all of my parents went through. My "bad adoption" experience didn't start until I contacted the adoption agency itself. It is with evil glee that I take aim at the adoption industry as a whole. So please don't include those experiences.

  • How can one be so happy with adoption as it is now practiced?

Explain to me Masha Allen who was adopted by Matthew Mancuso, a pedophile. Jeannene Smith, the adoption facilitator, went before a congressional committee hearing and did not get put into jail. Explain to me why there are more and more cases of pedophiles being allowed to adopt. Explain to me why natural parents rights are being violated consistently. Explain to me why adoptees still don't have access to their own OBCs. You expect me to be happy with this kind of stuff. Sorry am not going there anymore.

  • Which right is more important?

The right to parent or the right to adopt? Are they equivalent? Has adoption become about the right to adopt at whatever costs?

  • Why do adoptees and their families have to deal with the abortion issue?

How does abortion even come into adoption when a child is born? Why do the prolife people forget about those already living?

  • Why are all adoptees even those that are happy considered angry because they want their right to their OBC?

OBC for those that are new. Original birth certificate. In only six states in this country, adoptees are allowed unfettered access. What is so hard to understand about it?

  • Is it really hard to understand that there is a difference between infant adoption and foster adoption?

I truly commend the adoptive parents that adopt out of the foster care system. Foster to adopt parents are adopting children who are without parents. These parents relinquish their rights INVOLUNTARILY.

Infant adoption is a totally different venture. A woman and a man are relinquishing their rights VOLUNTARILY. Is it so hard to understand there are parents who get scammed on both sides of this fence? I hear from the fathers and the mothers all the time. I do what I can to help them. Their stories break my heart. Is it so hard to see that there is a difference between the two?

  • Do you discuss adoption in real life?

I discuss adoption reform in real life. I believe that others need to hear the stories like Noodles, Nyla, my own, Sunny, BPD Wife, and others. Society as a whole need to understand that we are being scammed. I believe that we living adoption owe it to ourselves to educate outside our world.

  • For adoptive parents, would you want to know whether or not your child was part of a black market baby ring?

As adoptive parents and prospective adoptive parents, you are part of the "market" for adoption. You help drive the industry. With what is happening in Guatemala and in other countries, scamming occurs. I have known several adoptive parents online who have been ripped off by adoption agencies. Wouldn't this be part of adoption reform for you? How would you feel if you knew that your children were kidnapped? Or if your child's natural mother was being forced to reproduce for this type of market? What would you do if you found out that the natural mother wanted to raise her child but was forced to put her child up for adoption? What changes are you willing to do to make this change occur?

  • What is the deal with calling adoptees an "it"?

This is not directed to either the adoption reformist or the pro adoption folks. We do agree that adoptees are human children.

  • Why am I and others considered anti ~ adoption?

I believe in adoption reform. I know that adoption is a necessity. I just want to make it about the child. I want the adoption industry out of our lives. I want us to be able to control our destiny. I want our choices returned to us. If an adoptee is happy and doesn't want to search, I am fine with that. I don't want a prospective adoptive parent ripped off because they want a child. If an adoptive parent chooses an open adoption, I don't want an adoption agency telling them how to do it. I want adoption to be free from coercion and lies. I want to remove the myths and lies that the adoption industry. How does all of this make me anti~adoption?
