  • What happened to the record breaking voter turn out?

The media repeatedly spoke of record numbers of voters at the polls this year.

In the 2004 election, Bush and Kerry combined to receive 121 million votes.

Obama and McCain combined only received 118 million votes.

  • Is anyone else tired of the ridiculous media coverage?

I understand that naturally more time might be given to the candidate with more momentum but a week on Palin's wardrobe and nothing on Obama's dinner with PLO spokes person.

  • Why is Huckabee staying in the race?

He is not going to win, not even among evangelicals.

I can only think of a couple possible reasons:

    1. He wants to help McCain to ensure his political future.

    2. He wants to split the Conservative vote because aside from social issues, he is a liberal.

    3. He is determined to keep a Mormon out of the White House.

    What do you think?

  • "True Christians," do you have a problem with Huckabee's use of religion to further his career?

The constitution provides that there will be no religious tests for the presidency. As an American, I appreciate moral candidates who are true to their religious convictions. As a Christian however, I find it reprehensible that Huckabee would use Jesus Christ's name to campaign, gather votes, and further his political career. I agree with most of his social conservative values, a few of his other political views, but certainly not his using religion as a political weapon.

I will not vote for him.

Those of you who are self proclaimed "true christians," do you have a problem with Huckabee using Jesus Christ to further his political career?

  • Is campaign management a forshadowing of how candidates will run the country?

Every Republican candidate has openly criticized Romney for being wealthy. Regardless of whether you like the guy and his platform, why criticize his wealth?

It seems that with all of the economic concerns facing the United states, a President with a Harvard MBA, a very long and successful business record, and record of being able to turn struggling businesses around, being able to raise campaign money and create a large, well oiled campaign should be a plus, particularly compared to the other candidates:

    McCain-almost bankrupt last summer.

Huckabee-poor organization, little money, little prospect for improvements.

Giuianni-top aides not getting paid to save money

Thompson-continual fund raising and campaign struggles

If these guys are struggling to run their own campaign, what makes anyone think that they will be able to run a country heading for a recession?
