  • Will two 1GB sticks PC3200 DDR RAM work in a SONY PCV-RS520?

All spec sheets seem to agree that the max memory my board can support is 2 GB. I know optimally I would have 4 512 MB sticks but looking at this sale http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... (yes I know the rebate CARD is a pain) it would be much cheaper to but just 2 1GB sticks.

    1) Would that product work in my computer?

    2) If yes am I losing much choosing to go with this configuration?

  • Sony PCVR-520 RAM Upgrade?

Looking to max out the RAM on this aging machine. It came with DDR PC2700 RAM (333mhz) and has a total of 4 slots for RAM. What is the maximum RAM this motherboard can accept per slot and what is the best RAM to buy for it? Some sites seems to think I would benefit from running DDR 400 (PC 3200) although I am unsure would it defiantly work on this motherboard? Also sometimes it looks like the maximum amount I could put in is 4x512 mb is this true?

  • 1989 Saab 900 Sedan cable routing?

I have a 1989 Saab 900s four door sedan with a clarion 1 din removable stereo (factory installed) right now. I would like to pick up a new receiver and install kit from crutchfield.com as many of my local shops like Best Buy and circuit city have claimed they can't interface with the wiring while crutchfield says they have a harness that should work for self install. Assuming the harness they provide is correct I should be able to fairly easily install the receiver with all normal functionality.

What I would like to have is Ipod functionality on the new receiver which would require routing a new cable out from the back of the receiver somehow. The receiver is currently sitting in a standard 1 din sleeve which blocks access to behind the dash to see what I could try to do, with the reciver removed. The receiver is at the very top of the dash with ventilation vents between it and the gloovebox and a lot of climate control knobs for sevral feet before any other cubby holes going down.

  • Networked Printer Troubles?

When I have more than one windows computer trying to print to a HP laser jet network ready printer at once, many times one of them will be unable to suucesfully to the printer and reports a failed attempt. All the computers will print successfully if you take turns so I have properly connected to the printer by creating a local TC/IP port conection on the machines. Is there any settings that could be changed in the computers or printer to stop this from happening?

A couple of notes, the printer is connected to the network via ethernet and to just one machine via a parralel conection, could this be causing a problem? All the machines are newer Windows XP pro machines under a school network using Novel's network mangement software. Thanks!

  • Long range cordless home phone?

I used to have a 900mhz phone that had a range of several hundred feet. Now that it has dies though I have not been able to find another system that works any where near as well as my old one. I have tried two systems that work on 5.8ghz from Uniden and Pansonic but both have horrible range. I am considering tiring the new DECT 1.9ghz phones but i am not sure that will work any better for me. Whatever I get needs to be able to be purchased and possibly returned locally in the Charolote North Carolina area.

  • USB removable storage not being identified with out reboot.?

I have several Sony cameras that I am attempting to connect via USB 1.1 to a school computer running Windows XP. When I plug it in any port it pops up and installs it the first time and tells me it could work better on a high speed port (none are). However it seems to be a random hit or miss for it to actually see it as a drive and add it to be seen in My Computer. It works just fine with a full reboot of the PC.

I normally must use Novell login to sign is as a windows non-admin student. I can log in as a teacher admin to change settings if needed but it dos'nt always work on this accouant either and I don't always have the ablity to login as an admin.

I have tried an even newer PC on the network with USB 2.0 ports and it has similar behavior. Any help greatly apreciated.

  • Overhaul old PC to act as media server?

I have an old system with a 600 mhz AMD chip in it with about 480 MB RAM in it with 16 MB video ram. Without upgrading I would like too use it to stream music to my home theater as well as pictures. My TV has VGA so should be good there. Couldn't get 2000 running so will go with ME but will still need to stream protected Itunes content. What apps can I use for the pics and music on a ME system?

  • How can you prove that triangles can not always be congruent by SSA?

I must construct a digram in Carbi Jr. (TI-83 calculter program) that show that even though two sides in a row and one angle are congruent the triangles are not congruent. I am supposed to somehow use a cicle.
