I don't understand why our leaders do stupid stuff when it comes to our national defense!

What kind of academic egghead approves the underpowered LCS - a Jamaican coast guard cutter is more armed than these things!

I understand (kind of) that the Russians have a point. On a documentary they were saying how their philosophy is to make weapons that are practical in combat conditions, etc.... I don't fully agree or would choose their hardware over ours, but the point is taken.

My 93,000 mi Suzuki Forenza is making knocking noises when I give it gas. Actually more sounds like tapping. Goes away when I give it more gas or get moving up in gears.

I only missed one oil change (gasp) and let it go 12,000 mi!!!!!! The guys at the shop scolded me. That was at around 43,000 mi. Before that and since then though I've taken care of it on time bet. 3-4k mi changes. I also switched to synthetic oil.

At the shop they told me the part the belt wraps around was loose due to a deer hit I had.

What I mean is: Phalanx is the only one I've seen with dedicated radar (R2-D2 dome). Other navies like the Russians' navy have CIWS guns mounted inside the ships looks like, and simply use the ship's radar returns to target them. U.S. Phalanx, is completely self-contained unit. Why do things like this? What advantages / disadvantages?

I have an '08 Suzuki Forenza with 85,000 mi. on it. I took it to the dealership for oil change, they checked the engine light with that diagnostic thingy, said that yes it is in fact a bad cat converter.

Here's the catch: they want $1,100 for it!!!!! They said the replacement part alone would cost ~$800 alone!!!! Bull%$*&!!! I Can't afford that!!!! They said it's no longer under warranty which is crap cuz I called them last oil change and said that light was going off, but they didn't check it til the oil change today when mileage was 85k. Can anyone give me suggestions?

I have to say myself, hands down, Sektor! Reasons:

(1) his moves are the easiest to dial in and remember

(2) his moves are cheap, fast and easily spammable (except seeker, but it has other +'s)

(3) the move combos are so seamless, that if you fail at one, keeping your enemy off balance with another will not leave you open to a counterattack most of the time

I read a Walkthrough that said Cyrax was the best in the game (Hah!!!) 3 reasons why not:

(1) his moves are very easily countered or blocked

(2) his bombs are virtually useless unless you wanna get pummeled until the opponent wanders into it, even then the time it takes in cooldown lets the opponent get close and do a throw on you!

(3) the time it takes to dial his moves (ie bombs) is long and only adds to the problems of his long cooldowns.

((4))) OK I ADDED A FOURTH - on the Sega Genesis version at least, sometimes the net-uppercut combo doesn't connect, so I add a high kick roundhouse.

anyone feel free to counter my arguments :-) PS MK3 best game out there, ever!!! MK2 was decent. MK orig. had its moment, but the series only got better with time.

My friend, (who is a bonehead) said that the amish will pay you to be a stunt c*&^ since their numbers are so low! This can't be true! They'd never tolerate that, would they?! Those people are all about families aren't they?

My mom got Leukemia a year ago, but she is a survivor (they caught it early). She also started using her cell phone heavily for about the past four years before then. She is 52, had a father who died of prostate cancer. But the doctors went over the risk factors with her and she had NONE of the risk factors (ie Benzene exposure, etc.) except the family connection. I am starting to think that maybe I should shut mine off as well except in emergencies, cuz it is always near my mom ALWAYS close to her and maybe I should tell her not to do that?! It really scares me sometimes.

It would seem that classified military records and documents should be secured?! Is there a leakers working, for instance, inside the Pentagon who's releasing these things?! Shouldn't the gov't be doing a better job of protecting itself?

I have the thermostat set at 70 degrees, and the temp. outside now is 48 degrees. It's one of those closet units. The house is about 450 sq. ft.

I have a trailer and an external large air conditioner that's very good at what it does. I run it only once a day to cool the house for one cycle only. How much power would that draw and what would I have to pay per month? 27c per kilowatt hour?

I know it has something to do with the flash mechanism and remove the wires make them exposed and then release the capacitors or something? What exactly IS the capacitor and explain y this makes it work as a taser?

A relative of mine has a carcinoma on his liver that needs to be removed. Doctors say it's gonna be hard to remove it, but so far the prognosis is good.

Also, how does it differ from a regular tumor and / or regular cancer?

OK I've been asking why my monitor is displaying vertical bands or bars of discoloration. Just a little FYI: It's caused by an overheating graphics card. I opened up my computer case, and a layer of thick dust was stopping my chipset fan from working, and it was overheating the unit. I unscrewed the fan off cleaned it and put it back on. ATI makes some pretty tough video cards, I guess (mine was RAD 9700 pro). So thats the problem if anyone ever encounters it again.

I don't understand why the book uses this formula. See if it makes sense:

A triangle, 30 deg. ramp, 60 and 90 are the other two.

100 kg refrigerator

it says F(push)= mg sin 0 + Ff

mg cos (90 - 30) = mg (sin 30)

so, mg cos 60 = mg sin 30

Ff = mew-s (static coefficient of friction) * Fn

Fn (normal force) = mg (Cos 30)

so, mg sin 30 + .(2)mg (cos 30)? = F(push)

the book gets: 490 N + 170N = 660 N

can someone explain this to me in easier language please?

Also, what kind of Grad. School options does this open up for me? I was thinking I could work as a juvenile justice worker or social worker or something? Helping people is a passion of mine.

I want to be an artist. I'm going to school for graphic design already, but I enjoy sketching. Can anyone tell me what to do? I have no formal training but I simply enjoy doing it?
