Flabbergasted

I'm considering purchasing some loose polished diamonds that are GIA certified from a dealer in a country in Africa. It will be for commercial purposes. From what I am reading, it would be duty free to bring them into the US. I am debating on if I should have them shipped to the US or to fly out there and bring them back on my person (use the opportunity as a vacation). Reason for going out there on the plane would be meet the dealer and build the relationship, not have to go through all the documentation required for the importation process (as far as I know), customs brokers, surety companies, etc. Reasons to ship, lower risk of being robbed, losing the stones, or limitations on the number of diamonds I would be able to bring over.

Questions:

1. What is the volume and value limit on how many loose polished diamonds can be brought on your person on a plane? Is there a difference if the diamonds are for commercial purposes (i.e., resale) vs. personal in terms of how they are declared with Customs?

2. Is there any licenses that is needed to bring loose polished diamonds into the US on your person via plane?

If I buy 10k shares of a stock and want to sell them, assuming they are at a higher value now, would there need to be someone that wants to buy all 10k for me to put a sell order in for 10k shares? Does a bank buy all 10k then sell them on the market? Does some entity need to buy all 10k at once for me to get the price I'm selling at? In other words, when I put an order to sell 10k @ $1 per share, is there some guarantee that I will get $10k for the sale?

Novice and want to understand clearly before investing.

Considering buying one of these. The Rebel is selling for $980 (with 18-55mm lens and tripod) and the Lumix for $300 (with Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens)

both are used and have been used lightly. No damage. Which would be more bang for the buck?

And should I try to haggle the Rebel price down?

like how it is for chinese crested dogs. if not, are there other genes that are the same and cannot be combined together that prove fatal if they are?

I just bought a wii motion plus set and tried to use it on a nyko wii remote. When I plug in the wii motion plus to the nyko remote, it blinks and shuts off. I tried the motion plus on a nintendo wii remote, and it worked. So I know the motion plus is fine, but I am wondering this: Does the motion plus only work with nintendo wii remotes or can it work for off brands (i.e., nyko wii remote)

I've seen answers to this question, but I believe the situation that our group is in is different.

Our group: University students in a high-traffic customer-service area

Problem: We have had several cases of harassment in the past for our group concerning name tags and privacy/safety; and have had a policy of no name tags because of those events (the policy was decided upon with our supervisor, which was based on a policy established by a previous administrator who oversaw the group).

Issue: Administrators are now mandating name tags for our group in order to follow a marketing business model (similar to disney or a hotel)

What is most striking is that another group in the building that works along side us is not being told to wear name tags because of the work they do (i.e the name tags stick to metal, get lost, and have to be replaced more often).

From what we see is that there is a bias (the majority of workers in our group is female and the other group is male), and a disregard for privacy and safety given the danger of past situations. I understand that in the hotel industry employees are required to wear name tags, but in our setting where our group does not have any personal, financial, or traceable information of anyone we encounter, if something were to happen, it would be difficult to follow up on (as we have seen with past cases that people in our group have experienced).

So, my question is, what can we do as students and as employees so that the past policy we have set up is not ignored? Are the past harassment cases grounds to keep our policy of no name tags? In general, what are our options, as a group since all of us (8 or so) are not in favor of such a policy?

these are possible haircuts i am thinking of getting. I have had some bad experiences with barbers not giving me what i envision or what i point out of a book in part because i do not know how to describe what i want. so hopefully someone can help me use the terms that they might know so that i may get the haircut i want.

recently, i've been having discussions with my partner, and usually they end up in arguments. this is mainly because she takes the stance that no one can be right or wrong. my mindset is that right and wrong exist (there's a right way to see an argument and a wrong way to see an argument) and that it allows for a prevailing idea in which each can expound upon. her argument is similar but that the right and wrong do not exist.

i understand the benefit of there being no right or wrong in a relationship, but i feel to say so would be giving up something be it power, creativity, or whatever. so, my question to you is, what is the cost of there being no right or wrong?

the relationship i'm in is meeting with some difficulty mainly because i'm using my past experiences as a guide. in particular, i see current events and their similarity to past events and assume that a specific consequence might happen.

on one point, it seems self-fulfilling; on another, it seems experience is teaching me to make the same mistakes.

so, from your experience and understanding, and perhaps in application to my situation, is it ultimately harmful, and possibly useless, to live by experience?

many see it as such:

if you were a slave master, you are totally evil since you are partaking in an evil institution. even if you, as a slave master, give your slaves the maximum freedom that you are allowed to, you will still be just as evil as the man that brutally beats his slaves everyday for no reason.

so given that, can there be such a thing as a good slave master? if not, is there something fallacious about the above line of thinking that inhibits there being one or is it just not possible?

does anyone know if there is any difference in depression rates for children born naturally or by cesarean?

for example, do children born by cesarean experience fewer instances of diagnosable depression later in life? simply, are children born by c-section less depressed than children born naturally?

a friend of mine really likes southern comfort and i want to get something that has a similar or better taste that he probably has not tried yet. i need to be able to find it fairly soon, so no ordering or anything like that and it's better if it's easy to find. any suggestions?

i was considering getting a Psy.D in general practice but was told that there is not much difference from that an MA in mental health counseling. i was told that the MA could still private practice and perform much of what a Psy.D does for about the same pay, but i'm not too sure if that is true. if it is, then what is the advantages of getting a Psy.D as opposed to an MA? what is the difference, in practice, between a mental health counselor and a Psy.D psychologist.

the school i am considering has an average program completion of 7 years for the Psy.D, so that is a major reason as to why i am asking this. if i get my MA (about 2 to 4 years) then later decide to get my Psy.D or Ph.D or take the 7 year track now, then i would kind of feel that i wasted some time. also, i want to be sure about the decision i am making, so i wont be disappointed that i'm not doing what i really desire to do or end up in a program which doesn't lead me to something similar.

is there anyone or does anyone know of any basic french blogs on 360 that one can read and respond to? i'm currently learning french and want to practice everyday in any manner i can think of.

with that does anyone know of a good french learning cd that one can listen to without a book? something like those "learn french while you driving" cds. does anyone recommend a cheap one that has good, clear, and slow pronunciation?

setting: a living room scene, it's dark (movie night dark where everything is off except the tv and it's light faintly lights the room). so there's people there or the feeling of a crowd, but only two people stand out a good friend of mine (one that i can relate with) i'll call Frank, and another who liked me, then not so much, then i liked her now not so much, who i'll call Penny.

anyway, in the dream we were talking but i tried my best to not lean or get close to Penny, in a "more than friends" way. the tv screen would show snow then would run words across. some made sense, others didn't. i felt the urge to use the bathroom and when i went in, there was a brownish black dog in the tub and it's fetus like puppies in the toilet, about 9 of them. there was waste in with the pups, but i couldn't tell if it was me or not that had done that. i said to myself that there are dogs in here and it's wrong to do. this was a dream with subject matter far from my norm, so ideas?

does it dry up and then fall off, and what's the point of cutting it off if it does just fall off on its own?
