Will I Damage my cherry Tree if I trim it now!?
I have a BING Cherry Tree that is about 10 years old and an estimated 14 - 16 foot tall. It has been bearing for a number of years and this year it is FULL ( Really Full) of cherries including the top branches I can not get to.
I am thinking of cutting the top of the tree off so I can (1) get to the cherries there and (2) next year the cherries will be within in reach.
QUESTION - WILL it damage the tree to top it now; cutting will include the main center part (branch or what ever it is called) of the tree .

8 AnswersGarden & Landscape3 years agoShould I - Can I, crop grape vines ?
I realize there are a lot of varieties of grapes and each probably has its own peculiarities; I have no idea what mine are other than purple and seedless. They produce lareg clusters but never seem to get very large berries as I see so many are. I think maybe there is too much foliage (vines and leaves) that is taking nourishment away from the fruit. (?)

1 AnswerGarden & Landscape3 years agoHow can I control timing on starting an Apricot Tree from the nut?
I have read that I can remove the apricot nut from the Apricot pit, put the nut in cool storage for 10 weeks, then plant it and the tree should grow. BUT - is that season sensitive? If I start some now, at end of 10 weeks (end of September) will it be safe to set the start out? Will I need to take special steps to prevent it from freezing this coming winter? Would I be better off to just put the pit(s) away until sometime in February of 2019 and start the cooling process with plans then to plant the starts in early May?
