  • Waking Up When A Baby Cries ... How?

Okay, first things first. I've always been a fairly heavy sleeper. Most people I know can wake up when you simply say their name. You don't have to yell, touch them, or anything, and they wake up alert. I can't do that. I can barely wake up with an alarm clock right next to my ear. People have to shake the crap out of me and scream before I wake up. And when I wake up I'm kind of grumpy, and still really tired. It takes me about an hour to wake up fully.

I have a three-year-old daughter, four in September. I was able to wake up and help with her when she cried in my ear, and my wife would scream at me to wake up. She never got mad because she knows it isn't that I didn't want to help. I would love to help, and I do everything I'm supposed to when I'm awake.

But now I have a little boy on the way. I'm still very difficult to wake up. How can I force myself to sleep more lightly? Is there anything that really works? Or is it just how I am?

I really want to be able to wake up almost immediately and do what I need to do. I feel really bad when I finally wake up for the day knowing I didn't get up to help out a lot. What do I do? I'm kind of freaked out. LoL. :-P

  • How Should I Determine A Price For Developing A Web Site?

Okay, so a local car body shop owner is aware that I have a lot of knowledge with computer programming in general, and that I also develop web sites. He would like to pay me to develop a small web site for his shop.

What factors should I consider when naming a price? I know no one can tell you a set amount. And that I need to factor in what I feel my time and effort are worth, as well as what I feel the quality of my work is worth.

One thing that will drop the price is the fact that I've never worked with a business setting. I've done some personal web sites for friends and family, but that's about it. I know I'm perfectly capable of giving him what he wants based on some specs. he is going to give me.

Oh, and is the industry standard an hourly charge, or a flat fee?

  • How Am I Supposed To Get Anywhere? (Child Support)?

Okay, my ex and I are getting a divorce, and she has primary custody of our 3-year-old daughter. She originally cheated on me, which is why we split up, and has had the guy living with her everywhere she goes. She got pregnant by him one month after we split up.

At the first court hearing she was ordered not to have him, or any other males, living with her. But she has a baby with him, and the court knows that he lives with her now. WTF?!

Now, I'm paying child support. Don't get me wrong -- I don't mind paying. It means that my child will have what she needs at the times I don't have her here with me.

But my ex doesn't have a job, nor is she trying to. Her lil' boyfriend works, but she just got an income-based apartment paying rent based on child support. And they don't know her boyfriend is living there, 'cause he's working and they don't want the apts. to know it, so they pay less rent.

I'm stuck paying ~21% of my gross income, at $8/hr. - 40hrs./wk., while she doesn't work and doesn't pay much of anything for rent. While she sits back and cheats the ******* system.

She's a greedy ***** -- there's no doubt about that. But I can't bring all this up because there is no way to get solid proof of it ... which is what the court WANTS before I try to take it to court.

How am I supposed to do something with my life if I'm going to be paying 21% of my gross income weekly?

They said my payments would go down when we have the final hearing and I have more visitation ... which is what I want, whether I'm ordered to pay or not.I want my little girl as much as they can possibly allow me to have her.

And they said my payments would go down when my ex gets a job. But, because her boyfriend works, his income isn't reported, and I'm paying her child support, she isn't going to get a job. Because she's beyond lazy and doesn't want to work for anything she has. She always wants to depend on someone else.

How am I supposed to fix all this bullshit? She's seriously going to drive me crazy, and I'll end up doing something to get in trouble. I don't wanna spend the rest of my life without ever seeing my daughter again. But she's REALLY pushing me. HELP! =P

    Thanks In Advance!

  • Microphone with Hissing Feedback?

Well, I have a Peavey PV-i100 microphone, because I do a little bit of music on my computer, using FL Studio 7, and a microphone. But when I record something, it has somewhat of a hiss to it.

I can hear it when I turn the microphone on, without saying anything into it. It doesn't bother me too much, because the beat and voice cover it up for the most part. But it takes the clarity out of the vocals.

Can someone tell me why it may be giving me such feedback, and some sort of program that removes noise/hissing and makes a voice more "crisp". I have CoolEdit Pro 2, but it doesn't work as well as I'd like.

    Thanks in advance! =)

  • An eerie feeling ... What can it mean?

Well, I know anyone can get the feeling that someone is watching them. But mine, is constant, depending on where I am and what time of day it is.

I most often get the feeling like my every move is being watched when it's dark, and I'm here, at my mom and dad's house. I rarely get the feeling anywhere else.

It doesn't really scare me. It's just sort of an eerie feeling. I can walk to a room down the hall, and I feel like someone is watching me from behind. If I continue walking, I get goosebumps/chillbumps, but only if I don't look behind me. If I take a glance behind me, I'm alright ... no goosebumps/chillbumps.

Does anyone know if maybe there's some sort of meaning to it? Or is it just natural/usual for everyone?

If you have links to resources, please provide them.

  • Actually, a helper ... Finding a Fraction of Something?

I don't know if anyone knows about this. But I thought up this method of finding a fraction of something in a simple way.

Say you want to find 3/7 of 84. Well, it's 36.

I'll tell you a quick and easy way, the way I do it, and it's like this:

You take the base number, which is 84 in this case. Then, you divide it by the denominator, which is 7. This actually gives you ONE-seventh of the base. Then, you multiply that answer (84/7 = 12, BTW) by the numerator, which is 3 in this case. That gives you THREE-sevenths of the base.

And the base/denominator doesn't have to divide evenly. You'll get the same decimal number you would if you worked it any other way.

I just thought I'd share this. And I am not calling anyone stupid. I just wanted to share this with everyone, and maybe someone will find it easier.

And yes, I will choose a "Best Answer" for this post. LoL. =)
