  • Depth of box floating in water using density...?

    A rectangular box: Density=625Kg/m(cubed)

    [4m (wide) x 8m (tall) x 25m (long)]

    Mass=500,000Kg

    Given: Density of water=1000Kg/m(cubed)

Now, how deep will the box sink in water?!?!

I know it is still partially above water (b/c it is less dense than water), but how deep is the section that is submerged?

  • If I want into Medical school in several years would I be better off with a Biology major or one in Pre-Med. ?

I ultimately want to work in a hospital in Internal Medicine...But if I don't get into Med School, I'll want to work in envoronmental studies ( maybe work with animals) So I'm really set on a science major: Biology and Pre-Med are what I narrowed it down to...

Which major would better prepare me for working in Internal Medicine?

Which would I be more likely be accepted into Med school with?

Which degree would be better to fall back on if i didn't get into Medical school?

Would another science degree be better than either of these?

Any other suggestions for a major?

Any further advice or encouragement for me?

  • PLEASE! I need to save money on a Politics In America textbook!?

Is the textbook "Politics in America Texas Edition; Seventh (7th) Edition; Thomas R. Dye; L. Tucker Gibson, Jr., Clay Robison." ANY different than the 6th Edition of the same thing? There is more than a $100 difference in the two, and I need to save as much $ as possible. If there ARE differences, what are they?

  • Where can I find statistics on the hazards of eating fast food?

For example: How much fecal matter is on the trays?

How often foreign objects are found in the food?

What are some of those foreign objects?

What happens in other places like the slaugter houses or the test labs for fast food companies?

And Overall hazardous statistics for the fast food industry?

I'm reasearching the hazardous effects of fast food on humans.

I know of a few books, but I don't have so much time on my hands so websites would be wonderful...but I want any information that you have.

  • What is this dermatology disorder?

My friend has a rough dry spot on one side of his face just below his temple. It's about one square inch. It's sometimes red, but never itches, burns, or peels. He puts lotion on it 2-3 times a day and stays well hydrated, but neither have affected it.

It's been there for around 3 and a half months. He REALLY wants it gone.

Do you know what it is or how to treat it?

  • PLEASE HELP! How do you ease joints locking up in diabetics?

My boyfriend's dad has been having REALLY bad trouble with his feet. Because he is diabetic, his feet curl up and stiffen causing excruciating pain. It happens almost every night and the only thing that helps is that my bf rubs out the cramps, but they come back about 4 or 5 times a night.

The ONLY information I have is that his pancreas isn't shut down compleatly like most diabetics. It sporadically produces insulin and therefore messes up his blood sugar. It is VERY difficult to control it's levels.

Their family has a low budget, but I would like ANY possible information you can conjure up. NO matter how miniscule or bizarre. Please help. Thank you.
