video recording laws?
Is it legal for a person to place CCTV cameras all throughout their home and record everyone who comes and goes...without notifying them. For instance signs outside notifying people cctv is inuse on these premesis. This would be located in Fairfax County Virginia. I know their are laws on recording audio, I just was wondering if their are similar laws foru video camera systems inside private residences. Are these videos allowed to be used in court?
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agohow much is this copper worth?
I acquired a bunch sheets of copper sheet metal. They're 36" x 48" and I think they're 14 gauge being they're roughly 1/16" thick. I can't judge how much they weigh. I know they're 12 square feet each sheet..and I saw something online that said they should be roughly 3lbs per sq foot. But I don't think they weigh 24lbs each sheet. So I'm not sure where I went wrong. That would mean all ten sheets weigh nearly 240lbs. So carrying four sheets should weigh nearly 100lbs and I carried three fairly easily and dont think that four sheets is 100lbs. Anyhow...does anyone know how much this type copper sheeting costs new?...and what is the scrap value of copper these days? In Martinsburg WV if location makes a difference.
3 AnswersEngineering7 years agoProblem with stitches?
I cut my foot...on the top side close to the big toe..right over top of the knuckle of my big toe. It was a laceration because I could see tendons through the cut. Went and got stitches...I asked the physicians assistant who stitched it to put a bunch of stitches to be sure it was good and tight because I wear boots for a living and my feet get very hot and very sweety. Well..she only put two stitches which I though wasn't going to be enough in the first place...I waited 17 days when I was told 10-14 days before I remove the stitches. I took the stitches out tonight and the laceration has not closed and started to bleed again. Should I just put neosporin and bandaid and tape it up well and pray it doesn't get infected. Or should I go have it stitched back up again? The cut does look healed up a bit, but its still very open...similar to the very first day.
2 AnswersInjuries7 years agowhat type of grease?
I want to replace the when bearings in my 99 Chevy Astro van. I purchased some new bearings...to my understanding they already have some grease in them. Also to my understanding all greases are not compatible...So I know I'm going to need some additional grease when I go and install them. So what do I do? Use A solvent and clean and remove all the grease in the new bearings and use all new grease to repack and install the bearings?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs7 years agoWhat happens to my security deposit?
I've been living in this apartment for over six years now. Recently (dec 13') the previous owners of the apartment complex went bankrupt and the buildings were auctioned off and a group of new owners purchased the entire apartment complex (jan 14'). They have been increasing the rents for everyone and I now wish to move elsewhere. I'm just a little concerned about my security deposit I paid the old company when I first moved in. Will I get it back when I move? Are the new owners required to uphold the previous rental agreements? I'm not sure if this falls under county or state law, but I live in Fairfax County, VA.
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate7 years agoDo I need a locksmith license in Virginia?
I've been thinking about opening a business doing vehicle unlock calls. I understand they're a 24/7 business. But I met a guy who does it and he seems to make good money. Drives his own car all day, has no boss but himself. But this was in Maryland, and I live in Virginia. I was wondering if anyone knows if I need a locksmith license to do this or can I just do it. I would be only doing vehicles...not residential or commercial doors in homes or buildings. Also...does anyone know if these guys are a hated industry like tow truck drivers?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics7 years agoIs it legal in Virginia for an emplyer to lower your pay rate for discipline.?
If your employer lowers you may rate from $17 per hour to $16 for one month for a disciplinary reason then fails to return your pay back to its original rate. And several months go by with still to increase in you pay rate. Is this legal? Can I file a claim with Dept. of Labor? In the State of Virginia.

1 AnswerDental8 years ago1999 Chevy Astro rough starting?
Got a 99' Astro with 98k miles...van looks nearly perfect but....when I start it...it starts right up...but once you put it in gear and step on the gas to go...it struggles to go..and it usually takes a minute or so of stepping on and off the gas and it trying to go then the engine slowing and finally it will drive right. Its not just the first start of the day when it does it...if I stop for awhile and start it again..it will do it again. I think maybe the fuel pump is on its way out...because I hear a fairly loud buzzing when I start it. Maybe its normal to be so loud...maybe not. I'm not sure.

2 AnswersDental8 years agoDo the larger poppies contain more latex and produce more alkaloids?
I've read that some poppies don't even contain any alkaloids and some do. And some grow larger pods than others. Does the size of the pods have anything to do with how much latex or the percentage of alkaloids in the pods? What is the overall best poppy to grow to get the most and highest percentage of alkaloids from one plant?

4 AnswersDiabetes8 years agoWhy do alot of Jewish people act very strangely?
I do pest control in a very Jewish part of town. Many of my customers are Jewish and although they seem nice enough...they all act very strange. They watch me like a hawk while I work...they rush me away at the end of service I barely have time to say thank you and have a nice day. It seems to me that they all know they're Jewish and it seems to me they have more of a problem with it than I do. Its a very strange thing to notice about these people. It makes me feel uncomfortable.
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture8 years agoI found some numbers on my rear axle amd im trying to identify the gear ratio?
And any other info I may need to help me get the correct replacement rear end. I want to go to a junkyard and find a rear but I need to be sure I get the correct one...so the more I understand about what kind of rear diff I've got the better chance I'll have of finding the right one...I have a 93' Chevy Blazer full size K1500 4x4 I'm assuming its limited slip...its a Chevy ten bolt rear and it has some numbers one it...these are the numbers...GMK18 and on the other end 15555679. Any suggestions on what I should do? Try to find a junk yard rear? Take it to a shop for professional repair? Or order the whole rebuilt rear from a website and have it shipped to me and I can drop it in at my brothers house? And price quotes on these different ideas? I haven't taken it anywhere yet.
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoHow do I identify my rear differential and gear ratio?
I looked on the axle and all I could find was some letters that said GMK18 on one side and 15555679 on the other....I need to have the rear rebuilt, repaired or replaced. Any suggestions? I live in Falls Church, VA.
