  • Taking a trip from Indianapolis, IN to Dallas, TX - we want fun out of the way things to see and do on the way?

we are leaving Indianapolis, IN Saturday morning, destination, Dallas, Texas - the catch - we don't have to be in Dallas until Wednesday night (business meeting Thursday and Friday) - so we want to find out-of-the way, interesting, even wacky places to stop on the way - Memphis, TN, Arkansas, TX or any other great place on the way to stop and see

  • Real Estate Agent's Responsibility?

I'd like to know exactly what the responsibility of a real estate agent is? What does he/she do to get 3% or more commission? My home is up for sale (since Oct 1) and this joker has only been to my house once and that was for me to sign the contract....thank goodness it is up in March! The home has been shown a dozen times by other realtors; I had one offer that was $25,000 less than the listing price which was ridiculous, my agent tried to get me to sell if for that since the two homes in the area were listed at that price...only I investigated and found they were listed at that price because they are both SHORT SALES....he didn't bother to disclose that, if he even bothered to find that out (it didn't take me but five minutes)...he never had an open house............just curious, I'm getting rid of this guy when his contract is up...I feel there is way more he should be doing, but maybe I'm wrong

  • Selling House, Fair Price?

My home in Indiana is for sale, I have it listed for $174,000; the only thing it needs is new windows; other than that, I had new carpet installed throughout, both bathrooms completely redone, the kitchen gutted and redone and the entire house painted this Fall; it has a 1 year old roof, furnace, water heater, invisible fence, 1 acre lot with mature trees, approx 2100 square feet; I'm getting an offer this evening......what's a fair settling point? Curious what you guys think....

  • Is Stemware in a China Cabinet suppose to be upside down or right-side up?

Should I put my stemware in my china cabinet right side up or upside down? I just moved and got my china cabinet set up, unpacked, washed and dried all my stemware and put it in the cabinet upside down, hubby said it looked funny and should be right-side up; we were both wondering if it mattered or how other people do it, just curious.

  • Garlic, red peppers and olive oil....how can I make it, Where can I buy it?

I used to be able to get whole garlic cloves with hot red peppers in olive oil at Meijer's, they don't sell them anymore, got rid of their olive bar; then I found them at Kroger's in their olive bar, but they have quit carrying them also....I tried just peeling garlic and adding the red peppers and olive oil, but something is not right, the garlic is WAY TOO hot...unlike what I was able to buy, any ideas where to buy it or how they really make it?

  • Etiquette For House Warming Party?

We just received an invitation to a house warming party from my husband's nephew and girlfriend...included was a card telling us (and everyone that got an invitation I imagine) where they were registered. My first thought upon seeing the registration card was, No, they didn't. Is that what people do these days? I was really turned off by it and was just curious. I have gone to house warming parties before, we took a gift, but there was never a registration card in the invite...what do you guys think?

  • It's so NOT funny...................?

notice how the movie stars and celebrities are behind Obama???? it's cause they make MILLIONS and won't be affected!!!! The people that WILL be affected are any families, US, making between $40,000 and $250,000 a year........WE will be paying more taxes, WE will bear the brunt of Obama's plan.....don't do it!!!! Small business men and women EMPLOY the MAJORITY of all Americans; they are in the $40,000 to $250,000 income bracket Obama has slotted...they will have to pay MORE taxes, they will LAY off employees, people like you and me; or they will go out of business all together.........OBAMA will throw us into a full blown DEpression!!!! get your home gardens ready!

  • Marriage - Name Change - Social Security Cards - Driver's License?

    This is not a question.....

Attention all you wives to be:

    The rules have changed........

After you have a certified copy of your marriage license; go to your local social security office......fill out the paperwork (take your drivers license and a birth certificate)...it takes 48 hours to get your name changed in the system.

WAIT - 48 hours before you go to the license branch to change your drivers license. The BMV has to verify your social security number these days and it takes 48 hours from the time you submit your paperwork to the social security office.

BMV - AFTER you have waited 48 hours from the time you had gone to the social security office; take your social security letter of name change application, take your birth certificate; obviously, your current driver's license, AND find letters that were addressed to you at your new address

hope this makes sense; hope it helps someone......congrats
