  • Why do motobike insurers penalise the entertainment industry?

I am trying to find a quote for a motorbike but no one will touch me because I earn my living in the entertainment industry. What is this prejudice based on? Where do actors like Jude Law get insurance?

  • Are sulphites in alcoholic drinks harmful?

I noticed that on the labels of every single alcoholic drink available from a supermarket there was printed in tiny print "Contains Sulphites" - even on a bottle of expensive champagne. Is this added? If so, why? If not, what is it? And why does drink bought from an off-licence not have this label?

  • How much is a cricket bat signed by the Pakistan and England teams from the 1996 tour worth?

This is a bat that I won as a prize from a Sky Sports competition 10 years ago. Both teams have signed it - although the only signatures that I can easily read are Inzamam's and Graeme Hick's. Also - where would be the best place to sell it?

  • Do milk teeth roots get re-absorbed by the body?

My 5 year old has yesterday lost his 1st tooth (bottom, front) with the adult tooth already starting to poke through (behind the gap left by the milk tooth). Close inspection after the tooth fairy whisked it away, shows that the tooth seems to not have much root. In fact it is jagged underneath the actual tooth part and somewhat hollow. His mother, who was present when the tooth came out, reports that a milky fluid came out from the gum when she inspected and claims that this was the dentine. I am dubious about this. His gum is not inflamed and I have tried to look into the gap to see whether there remains any broken enamel root but can see nothing. He seems fine and happy. Can anyone offer an explanation? The tooth appears not to have any decay, just this jaggedness where I would assume the root would be.

  • What age can milk teeth start falling out?

My son has only just turned 5 yet a front bottom tooth is about to fall out. It is clean and healthy and he has no decay in his entire mouth. Is he just maturing fast or is it possible that one of his many falls has simply knocked it out?
