  • Why do people pay so much?

Ok, seriously, I'm not the 'girliest' of girls, but i can appreciate a good purse as much as the next girl. My question is, why do people pay such outrageous amounts of money for purses? Vera Bradley, Coach, D&B, etc. Seriously, you can get knockoffs of any of these brands at any good dept store for less than half as much, and I've never seen anyone carrying one being swarmed by crowds of women wanting to know where they got it! I make purses, I know what it costs to make a nice quilted purse, and this chick is raking in the profits! Heck, I can do a patchwork quilted purse for $25 and still make money on it! I'm just curious as to what possesses people to spend such ungodly amounts of money on a simple little thing like a purse...

  • Progressive commercial?

Ok, its driving me crazy! Who is the other girl in the progressive insurance commercial about the new shoes and the 'tricked out name tag'. Not Flo, the sales girl, the other one, who says 'seriously'. I used to watch her on some show or movie or something and I cant figure out who she is!!

  • Help with cancer patients?

I'm trying to figure out how to get help for my father in law and his wife. Both have cancer, she has brain cancer and cant get around by herself anymore, he has lung cancer, for the 2nd time, and cant keep up with taking care of her. She gets help from Hospice, but she only qualifies for 2 hours a day, he needs someone to stay with her at night and help her to the bathroom, etc., not really nursing care, just help walking to and from. He makes too much $ to get Medicare or anything, but he has to pay for all of his meds, etc., himself, and cant afford to pay a home nurse to stay every night (most of the ones he called wanted $10/hr!). Is there any way they can get help? Who do I call? I tried, but I am too busy with my own kids, grandkids, etc. to stay with them every night. any advice would be appreciated. We live in Ohio if that makes a difference.

  • What's wrong with my daughter?!?

My daugther, who is 16, will only date black guys who are destined to be crack dealers. We are white and have let her make her own choices in boyfriends, but the most recent one has had girls calling our home threatening her (not the first time) and has threatened to have a friend of hers shot because he asked the boy to stop harrassing her. He broke it off with her, so I dont understand the threats etc. anyway. We told her that she is obviously unable to make good choices when it comes to boyfriends, so until she is 18, she will not date black boys like this and she flipped. We are not being prejudice, if she brought a boy home who had a future, no matter what color, we would be fine with it, but these are the only boys she wants, and I will not risk the lives of the rest of my family so she can be a 'gangsta's girl'. This has been going on for 3 yrs, and the threats are the end. Why is she being like this? What is wrong with white boys? She says she'd never date one!! Why?? Help!!

  • when should I take my 6 year old to the dr. for his cold?

My mother in law firmly believes that a child should go to the emergency room for EVERYTHING. I believe that as long as he acts normal, is eating and drinking, and has a maintainable fever, 102 or less, the best thing is rest, cold compresses, and ibuprofin. Who is right? What are the guidelines to use? Isn't the dr. going to tell me that he has a cold and to let him get over it? I know there is no underlying illness, its just a germ he's picked up at school, and I don't want to give him antibiotics unnecessarily.
