  • How can I stop my cat worrying/nibbling her own leg?

One of my cats has a point on her inner thigh on her back leg that she constantly picks at and has done for over 6 years. It's about the size of my little finger nail and is very red and raw. She does leave it alone sometimes so that it dries out and starts healing but then she picks the scab off and starts licking and fussing at it again. My vet can offer no suggestions other than an Elizabethan collar as a short term solution to dry out the sore without her being able to get at it. She's not normally a nervous or anxious cat and I don't like to see her harming herself. Can anyone offer any advice or coping strategies?

  • How can I keep my soft anti-grinding mouthguard clean?

I've been fitted with my first very soft rubber anti-night grinding mouth guard and don't know how to keep it clean and stop it from smelling bad. I can't use hot water as the rubber is very soft and I don't want to damage the guard. I've started brushing it with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste when I take it out in the morning but when I put it back in at night, it's smelling of staleness again. Has anyone got any tips?
