  • Where does extra generated power go?

Our propane-fueled 15kw generator powers our house when the energy grid is down. But our house doesn't use that many kilowatts. What happens to the extra power we generate? It's not like the grid; it has to be going somewhere, and the generator's not overly heating up.

Related questions; What's the optimal load for our generator? If you run the generator on a very low load, does it consume less propane?

And where does the extra energy a car's alternator generates go when the car's battery is fully charged?

  • Outlook 2002 with 2 Contacts folders? Help!?

I transferred my contacts folder and email folders to another laptop, both using Outlook 2002. However, I have 2 Contacts folders. One has my contacts inside. The other is empty. BOTH are named "Contacts". How can I find and rename the empty one so I can remove it properly from Outlook> Tools> Address Book ?

In other words, what's the usual Windows pathname where Outlook's Contact folder is stored, and what's the extension.

In Tools > Email Accounts > Directory> Email Accounts> Change, there are 2 identical-looking Address Books, both named "Contacts: Personal Folders".

My problem is one has my contacts and I DON"T want to delete that one... the other's empty.

Where ELSE (in the main directory tree) can I look for these two folders and rename one? Is it buried in the outlook.pst file (which I can find, btw) or squirreled away someplace else?

    Thanks.

  • I have an old 45 rpm record my father made during WW2 in Europe. Can it still be heard?

He sent it to his mother, and as far as I know, it has only been played once. What technologies exist to transfer this precious recording of my dad's voice to digital, permanent media? Where can I find someone to do this? I live in Michigan.

  • Flag Etiquette; How to display 5 service branch flags...?

with the US flag as the highest? I have searched many websites and discovered an order of precedence for the 5 military service branches. None mention displaying the National flag with the other service branch flags, and where they are placed in relation to the Stars & Stripes, which is always flown highest, or placed in the center.

I have to display 6 flags with the Stars & Stripes in the center. Which order do I display them, from viewer's left to viewer's right?

  • Recoloring a green leather sofa. What's best?

Our forest green leather sectional sofa is almost 10 years old, and has seen a lot of use, but not abuse. The leather of the seats has a crazed look, as if the green finish has separated from the leather, perhaps.

I would like to restore the sofa leather to look fresher and consistently the same color. I have used mink oil, neat's foot oil, and a leather treatment I got at the shoe store, but nothing's changed other than the leather is a little more supple.

Is my next logical step to find a green shoe or leather dye? The seat cushions are not removable, and I do not want to use something which will rub off on people's clothes as they sit down.

  • MS Outlook changed attachment style. Why?

I have Outlook 2002. Yesterday the attachment paperclip icon put an attachment as a text-style link in the header on its own line. Today, I have a graphic icon within the body of the email and no mention of the attachment in the email header. I honestly did nothing to change this outside of shutting down my laptop in the evening and restarting it this morning.

The graphic icon is messy and looks unprofessional as it seems to be randomly placed anywhere in the body of my email.

I'd prefer to return to having the attachment as it was before. How? Nothing in Tools, Options. Nothing in View. Where do I change attachment options?

  • Skype USB phone and Mac OSX?

We'd like to use Linksys cordless Internet Telephony Kits with Skype to keep in contact with our family. The phone is USB, Model CIT200. Does it have Mac drivers? I know Skype itself does, but we can't find them on the Linksys website. Anybody have experience with this particular internet phone and Macs? Thanks
