  • Do you really think a gun is going to protect you?

I've always heard the argument that people need guns to 'protect themselves'. Yet, unless you're alert 24 hours a day, gun loaded and at the ready, waiting for a criminal to violate you or your property, how do you know that you'll be able to get to your gun in time to protect yourself? It's not like criminals call and make an appointment so that you'll be ready for them.

And, what about those people who have a gun for protection but who have it locked away to ensure its safety? Do they really think that the criminal is going to wait while they go and get their gun and load it to ensure a fair fight?

What about the situations that are escalated because both parties have a gun? If the criminal has a gun do you honestly think he's going to run because you have one too? Also, remember the criminal has the advantage, he's planned things out, he knows you're going to be victimized before you do...he's going to have the chance to shoot you before you shoot him.

    Just curious...

  • Yet another Da Vinci Code Question?

Would it really be so bad if Jesus did have a wife and child? Jesus was sent here to live as a man, to experience the joys and pains of living in man's world. Part of the human experience is to love and to be loved, to forge lasting relationships and procreate. So, what if he did have a wife and kids, would that make the miracle of the resurrection any less spiritually inspiring? Would it make all of his teachings and miracles null and void?

As a Christian would it really rock your faith in Jesus, his life, his miracles, his birth and resurrection, his teachings and all of his good works if you found that he'd married and had children?

Yes, I know that some Christians will pipe in and say that it's a 'moot point' because he didn't have kids, but for those who can excercise their minds and actually entertain the notion, indulge me and give it some thought.
