Title with Lien on it?
I am going to take over payments for a family member's car; the car will still be owned by the bank, i"ll just be taking over payments and driving the car. Therefore, the title will still be in her name with a lien on it. She can't afford the payments or the insurance. Since she won't be paying insurance in Florida, I know that her license plate will be canceled. I'll need to register the car and insure it.
Can she transfer the title to me with the lien on it? I don't have the credit to get accepted for a loan for the car.
Can I register a car with her name on the title if I also have proof of insurance?
2 AnswersInsurance & Registration1 decade agoWireless Internet Signal Booster?
I live in a house built in 1949 which means plaster walls and lead paint. I currently have a wireless router set up in the front of the house near one computer that needs internet access. My PC is in the back of the house where I get absolutely no signal strength.
Will a booster get the signal to the back of the house? What should I look for if you think one will solve the problem?
I guess I could always take it back for a refund if it doesn't work.
Also, Ethernet wiring is not a solution. Again the thick walls and distance from front to back of the house is just to much of a hassle than just not getting service at all. I actually have some kind of jack that plugs from the wireless router into the electrical wiring and then I have a jack in the back room coming out of the wall and plugged into my Ethernet jack. This gives me service occasionally but it fluctuates in and out so these devices are not a solution.
Thank you very much.
2 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agowireless internet signal enhancers?
I live in a house that was built in the 40's. Because of this, the walls are made of plaster, the layout is large, and the wiring is suspect. We have wireless internet through Brighthouse; my room picks up no wireless signal at all so I bought a system that runs the signal through the electrical wiring. That barely works and I'd like a solution better than running a 75 foot Ethernet wire through my house.
I'm a bit ignorant in this respect so I could use your help. Will signal enhancers break through the plaster walls and possible lead paint? If so, what are the best options? If not, any other suggestions outside of running tons of cable through the house?
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoChow Yun Fat know any martial arts?
I got into an argument with a buddy of mine who thinks Chow Yun Fat is this major martial artist just because he was in Crouching Tiger. I've actually seen a lot of his foreign movies and don't remember him doing very many martial arts in any of them. He's an action star, no doubt, but more of the type who uses guns, braun, and brain more than a Jeanne Claude Van Damme type guy, right?
Anyone can train nine months and do what he did in Crouching Tiger or what Fishburn and Reeves did in The Matrix, but you can't fake what some of the true martial artists actors bring to the table.
9 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoAs a server/lead, what is the order for a wedding dinner reception?
OK, I work for a small hotel that's hosting a wedding reception in less two weeks. I'm the #2 as far as running it and making sure things run smoothly; F&B-wise anyway. My #1 has been out for the past week on emergency but didn't have us prepared beforehand. I've been serving for years, but I've never served a wedding reception, and the last thing I want to do is mess up a minor step in service for this event. I can't count on my #1 to set us up for success so I need your help.
I'm looking for insight from a server/Lead's point of view. A guest's point of view is better than nothing, but being on the other side of the table is totally different and I'm looking for timing, service, and etiquette answers and tips from someone who's been through this numerable times.
It's going to be about 70 people with approximately 3 servers and myself assisting along with the bartender for anything extra that may occur.
Honestly, my F&B director knows the ins and outs but I haven't been shown a thing as her #2 in about 6 months so it's just time for me to find information any way I can.
As detailed as you want to be would be great.
Thank you in advance for your help.
3 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoGreen Dots and sound goes In and Out until Plasma TV warms up.?
I have a few questions here:
What's the deal with the green dots? They're only there when I start my TV and then go away after it seems to have "warmed up," after maybe two minutes.
As for the sound, it's kind of a similar situation. It goes away after a while. I thought maybe it was my cable connection, but my neighbor doesn't have the problem and I don't have the problem in my room. I guess it could be my box, but the problem always goes away after 15 minutes, or so, whether it's DVR'ed shows or not.
My TV is a 52" HP Plasma that I've had for a little over 2 years. I have a 3 year warranty on it. Bought from Best Buy. I was always afraid of turning it in on the warranty because I only spent $1,500 for a 52" Plasma and didn't want them just giving me credit when everything else was so much more expensive at the time. But now, $1500 can easily replace my floundering set.
Do I even call Best Buy(is the hassle worth my time)?
Is this fixable? Fixable under warranty? Or, are they just going to give me a new TV?
If they do give me a new TV, will it be of similar purchase value or of depreciated value?
What the hell do I tell them since this thing's been doing it pretty much since I bought it? Do I tell them it's just started happening or that it's been happening as long as it's been happening?
I hate to sound like I'm trying to gyp them, I'm really just trying to lessen my hassle in dealing with them.
Thank you.
3 AnswersTVs1 decade agoWhat time will the Pacquiao-Hatton fight start...?
...I'm not talking about covergae, I'm talking about what time, Eastern Standard Time, will THE FIGHT approximately start? I'll be working 'til about 11:30p.m. and would love to at least catch some of the fight(there's a bar 10 minutes from mine I need to get to watch it). What will it take for me to catch it; undercards that go the distance?
11 AnswersBoxing1 decade agoFishing Cape Canaveral during a launch?
I was thinking about going out there and doing some fishing and then realized there's a launch tonight. It'd be cool to fish and catch the launch but I'm not really down with the giant crowds I hear go out there for those things. The place I plan on fishing is actually a little beach over a bridge on the way into the park(if any of you know what the heck I'm talking about) and there's a little island in the middle of the water with a draw bridge in the distance.
Anyway, it seems like it would be a good place for people not wanting to go all the way into the park to hang back and congregate to watch the launch.
1. Do you know where I'm talking about?
2. Will it be ridiculously crowded?
3. Is fishing there pointless because of the crowds?
4. Do you have any other shore fishing ideas(salt or fresh) to still have a decent view of the launch?
4 AnswersFishing1 decade agoMarried Filing Jointly for citizenship reasons?
Ok, I have to file married filing jointly for citizenship reasons, but my wife's w-2's deduct our refund this year by about $600 since she didn't make very much. Combined our taxable income was about $24,000, but about 6 of it is hers and that's split between two employers so she didn't pay very many taxes.
My questions is can we file her w-2's next year so we can get a larger refund this year and then just deal with the lower refund next year?
Also, if we report no w-2's for her will it cause her any problems for her citizenship status? We've been married about 3 years and she's getting ready to file her green card renewal and we don't want anything to affect that, but we could use the extra refund money now if it doesn't matter.
Thanks
5 AnswersOther - Taxes1 decade agoTaking my nephews fishing in Orlando?
I'm going to be taking my nephews out fishing this week and am just looking for suggestions and tips. They're 5 and 7 and have never caught anything while fishing with their mother so I told I'd take them out and show 'em what's up. Anyway, I've done plenty of research and have found some spots that look fine for them(Lake Island Park, Barnett Park Frog Pond, and more) but I can't find any testimonials. I'd like for it to be a good day for them so any advice you could give; where, when, tackle, bait, stories, would be appreciated. Thanks.
1 AnswerFishing1 decade ago94 Honda Accord rotor bolt?
How the hell do you get the bolt off the rotor? It's turned at a bad angle and I can't even see if it's a phillips head, or what. Also, the valve cover gasket is pretty much shot and there's oil in all the spark plug wells, the car should still run, right? It's worked fine up until now, and I know it needs to be fixed, but the car stopped running to day and I changed the plugs, wires, and distributor cap, but I can't get the damn rotor off. I tried restarting the car with the new stuff and the old rotor, but it still won't fire. Hopefully when I get back under the distributor cap the rotor bolt will be a more manageable place. Any other ideas?
4 AnswersHonda1 decade agoKevin Curtis Fumble Recovery for a TD?
OK, for some reason this isn't being scored in my league. I don't have Individual Defensive Players so he wouldn't get points if it was counted as a defensive play(which I think it is), but The Eagles D in my was also not scored for the TD. A Touchdown was scored here, but neither Curtis nor the Eagles are awarded the points, any ideas as to what's going on here?
3 AnswersFantasy Sports1 decade agoGifts for my nephews...?
I'm just now starting my shopping for my nephews, 4 and 6 years old. I'm looking to get them each a big gift and then a couple or more small gifts that won't be too expensive. I think the small ones are going to be stuff like matchbox cars and whatever, but I'm looking for more advice.
5 AnswersToys1 decade agoI have a mean fish in my tank that I need to get rid of?
It's actually a rainbow shark in a tank of a variety of tetras, an albino rainbow shark and large placostamous. Other than the placostamous, the rainbow shark is the largest fish in the tank at about 3-4 inches long. I've had this exact mix before with no problems so I ignored the warnings about the shark but it's just getting to be too big of a problem and I need to get rid of it. Ever day I have to reset my heater and my aerators because he chases the other fish around so badly that they knock these things off their suction. The albino is also terrified and won't even dare enter any of the cavernous areas of the tank as a shark should. This has been going on for too long and I know the fish don't really have any feelings but it's literally terrorizing my tank.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of this thing? Will a pet shop take it? I could never bring myself to flush it since it hasn't killed any of the fish, but it's definitely a menace that needs to be gone.

4 AnswersTVs1 decade agoTV purchase...?
I'm looking at getting a TV since my old old tv is well, old. I've read the positives and negatives of all the rear projection DLP, LCD, and plasma and am just looking for some basic advice. I don't think I'm going to get a plasma because those are just too expensive and I think I'd rather have the option of replacing a burnt out bulb than buying a whole new TV. My price range is $1000-$2000 and size matters. I'm looking for big with a nice picture, any suggestions on specific TV's or types or brands?

3 AnswersFantasy Sports1 decade agoBMX Bikes, a couple of questions, please read on...?
It's been a while since I've ridden so I'm wondering what the good, quality bmx bikes are. I know some of them sold out and sell in K Marts now, but I'm looking for something a bit more quality. What brands are still quality? Also, I'm looking for this bike for my 6 year old nephew, will a 20-incher be too big for him. I guess I could always get a 16- incher and he could pass it on to his 4 year old brother when he gets too big for it, but will 16 be too small?
3 AnswersCycling1 decade agoWhy do so many people want you to rate their team....?
it's ridiculous and it's always people who are in 8- or 10 team leagues where rosters are so stacked no one really knows how good a team is until the season start and the players distinguish themselves. Speaking of the season not starting, a really decent assessment just can't be had until a couple weeks into the season. Someone could have LT, TO, Peyton, and Steve Smith, for example, in a 16- team league which is freakin amazing but then they can all go down in the first week for the season and all of a sudden your team sucks.
If you're one of the people asking, please stop. Do some research and analyze your team yourself.
5 AnswersFantasy Sports1 decade agoESPN Fantasy Football...?
I know they're saying that it's completely free this year, but are any of you out there absolutely sure about this?
I know most "free" websites like CBS or Yahoo or ESPN have always started out free and then midway through the season they shut down the live scoring and stat trackers and make you pay the website fee to regain those fantasy necessitties. Is there any proof out there that shows that ESPN will not do this?
